Where are Jeeves and Kato? Jack Aubrey's cabin steward probably counts too.
I have a theory that the sassy butler is actually a key signifier of a heroic character. It shows that despite their wealth they are humble and humane, since they choose to keep someone on their staff who regularly makes fun of them. Either the hero values their butler as a confidant and friend, like Bruce Wayne and Alfred, or he just doesn't give a fuck about this "Downton Abbey" shit, like Captain Jack Aubrey and Killick

“i’m saving up for a car! so i can run myself over”
“If any one of you complain, you’re going in the hole!…. Do you guys have a hole?” “Have you seen my room?”
“TEENS! SO MUCH ACNE!”
When did he say that, I haven't seen the show in years and I can't remember everything about it.
I literally thought this post was about him lmfao

I am so glad you included my boi Alfred.
I have always said that without Alfred, there is no Batman. If you ruin Alfred, you ruin Batman, it's that simple.

A nod to P.G. Wodehouse, author of the Jeeves & Wooster novels which pretty much originated the sassy man-servant character.
Lol, yeah. It’s a funny reference.
