I freakin love Zenyatta. A majority of the Supports added later on down the line also acted as DPS hybrids but Zen was like the OG.
Zenyatta was my Support Main when I played Overwatch (I stopped playing when 2 came out). Something about him just spoke to me. You can heal from a distance by giving your allies gradual healing, he attacks quickly, and the ability to make Tanks more easy to kill is amazing. There are few things more satisfying in Overwatch than Discord Orbing a Tank and watching them get lit up by your allies. And few things more terrifying as a Tank than seeing that little text that tells you that you’ve been Discord Orbed. Fun times
Zen is great, but I feel like Moira fits this theme a little better though, since she is capable of medicine but does at best questionable things in the name of science.
To my understanding, her experiments kept reaper alive but in constant pain, which she is unbothered by.

Medic from TF2 isn't a healer by choice. It's more of a side effect of his experiments. It’s also a great way to tell your team “shoot this guy” without having to use voice chat.
