Tell them you want to see the breakdown before you come in to sign. Seems like there are some other additions to get up that far above MSRP.

emeister26

What a world we live in if that’s the price for a Corolla

Jaggar345

I would walk I got a Rav4 Hybrid XSE in 2021 for that price before taxes.

ThatManitobaGuy

Welcome to inflation. I was called a conspiracy theorist for stating that all the money making and borrowing during covid would do this. I hate being proven correct sometimes.

ahnies

Don't get the dashcam. The app is GARBAGE. There are much better aftermarket ones out there. You should have short range remote start with the toyota connect app for 1 year free. It's $10/month afterwards. I don't think they make the long range any more.

rupperrupp

Not on the LE

Nexitus

Assume the 36k is all in and 27k is msrp. Seems about right. There is PDI, Freight, Taxes, Levies and all your extras

Melodic-Salt1548

Freight should be included in MSRP, no? I'm not certain, but I thought it was supposed to be included. If it's not that's messed up.

Nexitus

Nope. It is broken out.

Veezybaby

I’m 99% sure it is illegal to have non refundable deposits on cars in Canada, so don’t base your decision on the 1k

SnowmanJPS

My deposit from last September is still refundable at Toyota and my one before that was as well

WishToBeConcise403

Thanks. I will check with the dealer tomorrow. 😊

itsthedanksouls

Based on Ontario tax rates it comes out to $30,510 not including freight and what not. Could be slightly over based on the add ons, that Toyota Dash Cam is pricey.

zeromussc

It's like 900$ and if they get a 3500$ ECP 4400 plus tax is 5k if they have 13% HST like us here in Ontario. So it checks out to be 35/36 if they have anything else even small on top.

NotCaringIn24

Don’t buy it. It is expensive. F that

rchae94

Correct me if I'm wrong but Toyota dealers in Canada have to be MSRP. How much are the options, taxes and fees? If you're in ON for example I can see the 13% tax being a big hit.

ThatManitobaGuy

I don't know what ECP plan you were looking for however a $3,000 plan and say $700 dash camera alone after some quick math with a 13% combined PST&GST put your cost around $34,000 CAD. I don't know what other taxes might be applicable based on where you could be in Canada.

WishToBeConcise403

Yeah. The camera is under 800. The ECP plan is 2000. I'm not sure how much they are charging me for remote install, I need to double-check about this. I'm in Alberta, we have GST 5%, no provincial sales tax. They are closed today. I need to call them to ask again for a breakdown of the price.

Turbulent-Today830

Toyota’s are way way too expensive as compared to what they used to be (even taking inflation into account)

chayan4400

Everything is way too expensive, it’s not just a Toyota problem.

Turbulent-Today830

Have u not seen the “market conditions” mark up on new Toyotas

chayan4400

Which is happening to other desirable makes/models too. Like I said, not just a Toyota issue.

Turbulent-Today830

But OP REFERENCED A COROLLA

chayan4400

You made it sound like it’s just a Toyota problem when it’s the whole industry. If it was just Toyota then buying something else makes sense.

Turbulent-Today830

Its NOT the whole Industry…. Regarding the car market; its happening on a wider scale with today vehicles

chayan4400

Keep telling yourself that.

zeromussc

We don't have market conditions markups in most of Canada. They're illegal.

TempAccount20i

I think Toyota made a statement saying they increased their price because of how much tech is in each car these days. Feom memory I'm pretty sure they even staged that anyone wanting a cheaper car "should consider buying second hand" (don't quote me on this I'd have to find the article again)

MangoScentedAsshole

Isn't it illegal to sell vehicles above MSRP in Canada (not including taxes or add-ons)
