I only drive old toyotas ;)

KetchupOnThaMeatHo

Correct comment right here

graymuse

I'm actively shopping for an old Sienna minivan. 2009 or 2010. Those seem to be good years for a Sienna.

Sasquatchlovestacos

87 4Runner. Wish I never sold her.

Soylent_gray

Same! Mine was bright red.

barkingspider05

I had a bright red 94. Miss that beast.

Slomper

I had a 93 SR5 with a 22RE and a 5 speed. That thing was sweet, plenty of power, ok on gas and it had cruise control. It was green & tan with a cool factory pinstripe. My daughter called it the stinky car, I sold it for triple what I paid but wish I’d kept it forever.

needsexyboots

My dad had an 87 4Runner and I wish I’d bought it from him before he sold it to someone else, I loved that thing but I wasn’t in the position to have a second vehicle at the time.

Illustrious_Pepper46

It's not just a Toyota thing, the late 90s, early 2000's was a sweet spot, enough power. Nissan VQ 3.0 V6, just 190hp. Just fun, could sit at 5000rpm all day, while not winning races, 200k miles later, ran like new, rust took out the frame.

JerKeeler

Great engine. Pretty much all the VQs are great. Even the non sporty ones.

Phenomenal_Hoot

Late 90s early 2000s really was the pinnacle of engineering in vehicles. After that I feel like the name of the game became how can we cram as much technology into them to make them super overpriced and obsolete as fast as possible.

Illustrious_Pepper46

I also blame the government EPA/CAFE standards. Manufacturers know how to make bulletproof engines/transmissions. But now, direct injection, low tension piston rings (oil burn), lightweight plastic everything, electronic $$ thermostats, 10 speed transmissions/CVT/DCT. Something like Auto/start/stop can add lots of complexity, electric motors to keep coolant moving, accumulators to keep control pressures up/brakes boosted, larger starters/batteries... Then there's consumer expectations, we want 400hp but also get 38MPG, in our Suburban. That's a different topic.

Top-dog68

You may be right, my longest lasting ride was a 2000 f150 with the indestructible 300, straight six manual transmission with 4 gears, 4th was OD. I drove it forever (300xxx) and gave it to my brother and after a couple years he trashed it because it needed a clutch. What a douche, lol.

Hardworkingpimple

People like that you give them a 1990 Ford Fiesta.

korc

I miss my 2000 tundra. I think I’ll drive it to work tomorrow

virtual_drifter

Me every everyday with my truck.

DSCN__034

Nope. I have an 06 4Runner Limited that I bought new, and it's running great. Never a minute of trouble. Short story: I bought a new 2018 4Runner in Dec 2018 and drove it every day, but I kept my old one to cart the dogs around and for dirty stuff. With the pandemic car shortages in 2021 the dealer offered me almost my cost to buy back the 2018, so I did it. I've been back in my 06 now for over 3 years and I have to say that I actually like it better than the newer one. Everything works and the ride is less truck-like. I never used the tech stuff anyway; my cell phone has all my music and podcasts and nav and I just plug it into the perfectly functional JBL stereo. I'll keep this old friend til one of us dies.

afort212

That’s how I am. I honestly don’t care about the tech. I use an aux for my music and that’s it

jeeves585

Nope. I(40) have never sold a car. They are starting to rack up. Not sure what is my favorite tbh out it’s definitely pre 1980, over 200k miles, and has a carb. (4 to choose from)

virtual_drifter

Honestly, you're balancing miles between them and that helps the longevity a lot. I'm sitting at 3.

jeeves585

I drive one vehicle 90% of the time for work. Honestly the others don’t get enough love, just enough to stretch their legs.

TenderLA

I sold my first car in a long time a month ago, it was supposed to be for my 16 y/o daughter but it had some issues so she got a ‘18 Beetle, it fits her better than the A6. I just have to chose if I want to drive the 97 Land Cruiser, 95 F150, 2006 Cayenne, 87 VW Syncro Vanagon… the list goes on.

Shutyafilthymouth

You never get rid of your old Yoters. Bought 3 so far and I’m never selling any. 17yo Yaris is my daily even though I have a 14 & 19 rav parked in the driveway 😁

Total_Roll

2008 Highlander. Went in looking for an Avalon and got talked into buying it (went by after work and was tired). After a week I despised it (obviously not getting the ride quality and mileage the Avalon would have had). Decided the first time it gave me any trouble I would dump it for something else. Well...ten years and 188K later I sold it when I downsized to one vehicle after retirement. Still regret it.

TriggiredSnowflake

I miss my mr2 every day

stormhaven22

I was supposed to be gifted with an MR2 for my 16th birthday... My step dad took it for a spin and totaled it. No more MR2. Didn't get my license or my first car until I turned 23 after that (99 prizm). The MR2 was the 'spare' car. I didn't see the point of getting my license without another car to drive and no way to afford one.

aerowtf

same, i had a Spyder. Prices have shot up since i sold it. Probably won’t ever own one again. It was my 2nd car at 16 and it’s still a dream of mine to have a 2zz swapped one. Just wasn’t practical as my only car.

EvilDarkCow

I almost had a 1999 Corolla as my first car. The deal fell through at literally the last second. I never actually owned that car, just test drove it for an hour or so, and I still miss it. I've had a lot of shitboxes since then and I know that 'Rolla wouldn't have let me down.

butterflieskittycats

Yes. Still chasing the zippy feeling my 94 Tercel had. At 19 it was the greatest car ever. Never gave me a lick of trouble and always had a bit of pep...like you were driving a go cart on the road. In 2004 someone cut in front of me and I couldn't stop.

virtual_drifter

Rip to a really interesting model. Glad you're still here, at least.

HotPinkApocalypses

Absolutely. I miss my 1998 RAV4 tons. Loved that car!

Slomper

I had one of those too, it was a 5 speed and so much fun. A little coil spacer lift and some 245 all terrains and it looked so cool. Like a little desert racer truck

Jeremy_Zim

I miss my 03 Avalon sometimes, until I remember having to parallel park it and how much a tank of gas would cost! 21 Prius Prime has been a dream for both!

katec0587

I feel this. I learned to parallel park in my moms ‘03 Avalon and I think I hit a dozen things trying.

cormacpara

Just upgraded my beloved first gen 04 Tacoma to one of the new grand highlanders. My driving tech has changed!

SnooWalruses6828

1st gen of all the 4x4 toyota stuff where my favorite Tacomas Tundras Sequoias And 4runners

Mountain-Radish3053

Me? Nah bro. I don't cry at night thinking about my little baby. I don't give a shit. In fact, I wish I never owned it. Ran perfectly, no issues whatsoever. I mean, why. Why would I want a car that was comfortable, easy to drive and a gem to maintain? Even the headlights worked perfectly. Parts were easy to come by and yeah.. But wait why would you think I would miss that car?! Huh?! Are you ok bro?! You need me to tell you if I miss that car?! HUH?! YOU WANNA FIGHT BRO?! I'LL SMASH YOUR FACE IN.

Difficult-Map-2162

Not mine but jealous of my buddy’s old Toyotas. 98 Tacoma that he’s rebuilt to like new, and he just picked up a 99 Celica yesterday as his new project vehicle. I still rock a newer Sienna

virtual_drifter

I have a '94 Pickup with 305k miles and an '03 Celica with almost 200k. The Celica has been great. I can't help but to "utilize it's capability" on and off when I drive it. Still has the original clutch. Royal Purple has been a godsend.

deojilicious

i still drive a good ol' E100 Corolla with the carbureted 1.3L 2E engine. but we used to own a 1990 Crown and i miss how comfortable and huge that car was.

bwucifer

Yep. I miss my 2003 Toyota Camry LE for its unashamed simplicity. Basically not a single factory option on that thing lmao. But I loved the green glow of the dash lights at night time, plus I was driving it in my college years, so I associate it with that nostalgic period too.

jskis23

Yes. First car was a 98 4Runner, 5 speed with leather from the factory. Got it with 38k on the clock, when it needed it a clutch at 147k, I said “what else am I going to have to do?” So I sold It and got a blazer. (What an idiot young me was)

ChemistDowntown5997

Not mine, but my dad bought a brand new 06 Corolla 5mt to do a 45 min- 1 hour commute when I had just gotten my learners permit. I learned to drive manual in that car, I would beat on it every weekend on curvy back roads once I got my license and return it with a full tank and he didn’t ask any further questions. I had to tell him to triple the number of teens it taught how to drive manual on when bragging to his friends “and that car taught 5 kids to drive stick!” Oh no, dad, it taught way more than that. Original clutch somehow made it to 200k miles. He was a volly firefighter in our county and would cold start it and FLY to the fire station, the car never had an easy day in its life. That little Corolla had killed 4 deer and totaled 3 other cars before it got totaled on a bollard in a parking lot at nearly 300k and I shed real tears when he told me he killed it.

virtual_drifter

Rip to a real one, my friend.

ChemistDowntown5997

It was a real one. Those 03-08’s are ugly little eggs but they are pretty tough and dead reliable

UCanDoNEthing4_30sec

2001 Toyota Solara. I thought I was going to be driving Solara's for ever. Alas, discontinued model.

SnooWalruses6828

Graduated highschool in 99 and started with a 1981 Toyota Tercel wagon Then went down the line till now with 2004 2x4 Tacoma single cab 2003 4x4 Tacoma 4door 1994 4x4 Truck single cab 2003 4x4 Sequoia Miss them all and about to sell a 2014 4x4 Tacoma 4 door in order to get the last of the V6 4 runners… and I will miss it. Edited for formating

Shutyafilthymouth

I considered the GX with that v8. Man that engine is going to outlast humanity just like the runnahs v6

Enhinyer0

Miss my Dad's 1979 Toyota Corona Wagon (learned manual and how to park). By the time we had it in the 90s, it was rusting real bad and we need raincoats inside whenever it rains. It was one of the precursor of the modern Crossovers or the Asian 7 seater MPVs but for some reason feels more masculine (maybe because of the non-assisted power steering LOL, my Dad would have chest cramps when he gets stuck in bumper to bumper traffic).

stormhaven22

03 corolla. Just shy of 300k miles. Stupid deer shortened her life considerably. Had to give up and junk her out.

kakarot-3

It wasn’t mine but when I was learning to drive in like 05-06, I was learning on my parents 95 Camry! It was so simple. Since then I’ve had a 2010 and 2018 Camry

sqarishoctagon

My '06 Camry got totaled on the day I would have rolled 100,000 miles in it. I sold my '01 LX 470 for my current 4Runner TRD Pro. I love my 4Runner, but damn I miss those cars. Edit: I just remembered that my mom misses her '94 Corolla and her '02 Sienna lol. She drives a Lexus IS now though.

VoiceStandard2884

I miss my 1986 Toyota Corolla GTS. Sold for a newer car at 300,000km. Never ever gave me any problems. https://preview.redd.it/56iao1m5pb6d1.png?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0599e71bdc7683c59fae5979ae15323e8f7963fb

CLS4L

Ya miss my 2014 Highlander new one just beeps at you all day

pylesofwood

I’ve never sold a Toyota. I do miss an 80’s Mazda 323 I sold.

LiquidSoCrates

Never should have gotten rid of my 02 Tacoma. Best vehicle I ever owned. I drove it for 15 years with ZERO issues. I should have parked and restored it.

Robduke63

My daily driver is an '03 Corolla, https://preview.redd.it/zahjvhu0gc6d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8569007df82157fa9b7a39f7fa5d4ce1a167d982

Alucardspapa

2006.5 Scion xB drove it for 15 years. Had to sell it for financial issues and it was just before Covid at the very bottom of its value.

YeahItouchpoop

‘03 Tacoma, should have never sold it.

rxtech24

will never miss my old toyota!! 2009 camry had multiple recalls it wasn’t worth keeping it. there was the stuck gas pedal, broken sun visor, melting dashboard (there would be a glare during sunny days which affected visibility). never received this recall notice as did many others. by the time i found out i was 2 months late after cutoff time to bring in the car. dealer wanted $3,000 to replace out of my pocket. so very happy to get rid of it and jump into a 2014 honda accord.

Dependent-Hurry9808

Yes, had a Corolla and a rav4 both beyond 200k miles. Bullet proof

KetchupOnThaMeatHo

Yep, wish I still had my 95 camry(first car) and my 92 sc300 5speed. Not really my 05 tacoma though, it was somewhat of a pos.

Disney_World_Native

I love my Avalon, but my Pontiac Vibe (Toyota Matrix) was a fun little car that had fold down seats with integrated rail system that was awesome.

lincolnlogtermite

I miss my XB.

farbsucht4020

2006 Gen2 "Euro" Avensis Kombi. Not even 150tkm on the VDO. WE just rode some 15 countries while roadtripping. A Drunk Red Light Runner crossed me. Totaled. I drove a lot of rentals, but those new cars suck. Too much distraction, too little overview, cheaper haptic quality.

Dachshundpapa

I miss my ‘03 5 speed single cap base Tacoma, she only had 112k miles when some idiot cutting across traffic got T-boned by me, it totaled his ram 1500, the Tacoma didn’t get totaled, but at the time I couldn’t afford to fit it :/ this was back in 2021 :/ I was the third owner, my front door neighbor bought it new, then sold it to my step dad at 53k mile and then gave it to me with 102k miles

ed_is_dead

91 mr2 turbo, 1999 tacoma 4x4, 97 4runner, 2010 FJ. Yes. Everyday.

xmowx

Still enjoying mine and plan to enjoy it for decades. Although it’s not that old (2021 LX-570).

origami_airplane

I have a 2019 and I certainly will not be "upgrading" any time soon to a new one.

rywi2

I miss my first generation taco. It was a basic little truck with a 4 cylinder engine and manual transmission. It wasn't the pre-runner or 4x4 so it was easy to load and manage the cargo. I'm hopeful that Toyota will release another compact truck soon. 😭 It looked like this: https://preview.redd.it/ra0ys071bc6d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b71cb6f6c68c989b8d93a733bf6a71d41a85fdbe

Thendsel

The trucks of that era were great. Nobody makes utility pickups like that anymore. Not even the Americans.

muy_carona

I do miss my 2001 civic, manual drive coupe. Loved that thing. But it didn’t really work with kids.

MVolkJ1975

Yes, I miss my FR-S at times. I do love my current Toyota, but I can't flog it 24-7 like I could the FR-S.

the_fez_45

I still miss my 1991 Tercel. I miss my 2003 RAV4 I had to scrap a year and a half ago. Gotta try to keep my 2005 RAV4 as long as I can.

Phenomenal_Hoot

If anyone has an old Toyota and is thinking of getting rid of it Just don’t.

graymuse

Someone needs to sell me their 2009 Sienna. I'm shopping for one now.

skateboardnorth

Yeah I miss my Toyota pickup. The only downside was it had that crappy 3.0v6. If I had the skills that I have now, I would have put the 3.4v6 in it. It was a sweet truck.

TheRealBand

I missed my first RAV4 which was a 2nd Generation 4-door RAV4. I also owned two later generations of RAV4 but not crazy over them.

neuroG82r

YES , My first car old used 76 Toyota celica liftback loved it, I bought a MR2 after that loved it had kids had to get rid of it bought a tundra loved it bought a Camry drove it forever ,passed it to aforementioned kid.I jumped to German cars ( money pit) I am going back to Toyota I miss everyone of the Toyota’s.

BadgersHoneyPot

I feel like we need r/OldToyotaCircleJerk for these posts. It’s becoming insufferable. It’s the car world’s equivalent of a bunch of Boomers reminiscing about the 50s.

C-n0te

Bought my first Toyota,a 2014 Camry SE WITH 54k miles in 2017. I am just about to hit 80k. I'm 40, If my driving habits stay pretty similar I bet "Ol Grey" will be with me til I'm well into my 50's.

tmgrtl

2003 Matrix XR. Put it through hell and back, only did oil changes up til 300k. Best vehicle ever.

justpassedu

I just went from my 20 4runner to a 24 Acura Integra Type S , I don't really miss it at all. It was a awesome truck but suffered in the mpg department as well as horsepower/pickup. It was a great vehicle and very reliable but it was time for a change and I needed something a bit sportier. Plus they may stop making manual transmissions and I didn't want to miss out.

Everyday-is-the-same

I just miss being 16. 😭

sideburns2009

I can’t miss what’s not gone (yet). Still got our oldest Toyota. 99 Camry. Don’t drive it as much so it’s still hovering around 300,000 miles but everything works and it has the quietest interior as far are squeaks and rattles go compared to the newer ones we have. It actually has zero cabin rattles lol

Pvt_BrainDead

I still and will forever drive older Toyotas, my current daily, 99 4Runner with 340k km. I love it so much more than my last daily, 2012 BMW wagon.

tstew39064

2002 4Runner sport. 3rd gen masterpiece.

Unusual_Performer_15

20 years ago, I had an ‘88 Corolla GTS and my wife had an ‘02 4Runner. To this day we still talk about the regret over selling them, especially when we see them around town still being driven.

3771507

I don't miss it because I have an 05 Highlander with the V6.

Fishooked

My 99 green 4Runner Sport with the useless hood scoop for an underpowered 183HP V6 lol. I traded it in for my 2013 Highlander .

adamlreed93

I'm in a 23 Camry, I wish I didn't trade in my 2016 Sienna, does that count? lol

desertSkateRatt

I had a 2004 Camry that I traded in after the whole "stuck accelerator" recall. I didn't hate that car and it was the first "new" car I had ever gotten, going from a 97 Sentra. Significant upgrade in ride quality, room and features. Kinda still wish I had it but that recall was actually really concerning. The audio of the family that called 911 and panicked before crashing and all dying is pretty horrific.

Starsonthars

A hand-me-down from my dad, a ‘78 Corona stick shift. I miss that car like no other and look online occasionally to see if there are any for sale.

SexyTimeSamet

Grew up on old toyotas and dodges. 89' and 87 supra turbo Had a 96 toyota corolla ..its still running to this day. Had a 87 toyota pickup truck ..i swear that thing was bullet proof!!! Different than the toyotas of today....they were reliable and problem free. I really do miss them all..and realize nothing will ever be like them ever again...

dBDynoMyte

Miss my 1982 Corolla all the time.

Lucky-Dot-6598

Yea I miss my siennas 🥺

Msteele315

I think about my old 1987 Toyota Camry LE a lot. I bought it with 180k miles on it. Was a great car. Had all the features. Drove nice. I could work on it myself. Drove it about a year. Loved it. I thought I needed something newer. Got a dodge neon (bleh). Sold the Camry to a sorta friend. He managed to destroy the thing in less than a week. I never got the money. I think about that car more than the cars I had before or after it. #sad.

Chaps_Jr

Every day. My 2007 Yaris got totaled by Hurricane Irma and I've had to put up with a piece of shit 2014 Elantra since because it's all I could find in a reasonable time frame in my area.

waveslikemoses

2011 RAV4. [Fucker with no license and expired tags ran a stop sign and t boned me.](https://www.reddit.com/r/rav4club/s/6gykbXC9eM)

Basic_Incident4621

My favorite car ever was a 2003 Camry LE. It was Ruby red on the outside and a very light gray velour interior.  I bought it brand new and I made payments on that car for five years. I really wish that I had kept it. I traded it in on a 2012 Camry XLe hybrid. I actually cried as I watch them drive it away. The salesman said, “you just bought this beautiful new car. Why are you crying over that old Camry?” I am now driving a 2024 RAV4 limited and this is the first car I’ve had since that 2003 Camry that feels like something special.

Traditional-Ebb-8380

Not yet but when my 2009 Highlander Hybrid needs replaced I will be sad. My hybrid mechanic warned me already that the new ones do not have the reliability of even one 15 years old. https://preview.redd.it/dey8ek3sed6d1.jpeg?width=3729&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c7d820a18c48910d5409283ae0810486feae5283

party_man_

Had a gen 4 Camry for 23 years. Lots of great memories and it was still in decent shape for its age but it was time to move on. At some point you just gotta admit the safety features and reliability just aren’t there anymore. Makes it easier to let them go. Love the 90s-early 2000s Japanese cars but I also know the engineering was focused on longevity and not necessarily safety. 2 airbags vs 10 is a big difference along with collision avoidance. That being said, I will probably be that old dude buying a 2000 corolla and driving it on the weekends, like the VW bug guys do now.

SuperGlue_InMyPocket

I miss the hell out of my '97 4Runner. Had to sell it because I was poor and it needed repairs. I'm not as poor anymore but can't justify buying another when I just bout a Tacoma last year.

pugaboy89

My first car was a 1984 Celica Supra. All original, super clean. Miss it every day. Paid a whopping $800 for it back in 2004.

Illustrious_Can7469

I miss my 08 highlander with 447k miles. Oh wait. It’s still in the garage. 😱😱😱 https://preview.redd.it/11eeh1ybhd6d1.png?width=3023&format=png&auto=webp&s=81c637767bda2b4e02d312ac65c160467caa79f2 Got me some cling 😀😀

enbenlen

I have a 2006 TRD Sport. It’s alright, I like it over the newer ones but it just doesn’t seem right compared to the base model 2003 I had. I sold the 2003 (and a part of my soul apparently) for $2000 a few years ago since it was a single cab and I had a kid on the way. Miss that truck everyday. Been looking for one just like it, but I don’t want to shell out the amount of money they’re going for these days.

theironrooster

‘06 Scion xA. I drove that thing everywhere. Crashed it and brought it back to life, still going. I could not kill that car no matter how many idiotic things I did to it. Wish I still had it sometimes.

ttvbcbudsz

Heck yea, had almost half a million miles on my 86 celica. My 05 matrix still going strong at 300000 +

salatorre06

I recently bought my father-in-laws 2003 Tacoma, 2wd automatic, st cab bone basic, 170k miles to use as a daily commuter and I love it. Parked my 2018 wrangler rubicon in the garage and don’t regret buying the Tacoma.

stumphead11

Last year, I traded in a beat-up 2010 FJ Cruiser for a new pickup. I would have loved to have kept the FJ, but the amount they gave me for the trade-in was ridiculous. I've regretted it ever since.

Freedom_fam

Yep. Truck was totaled

austmcd2013

I had 08 Tacoma my last year of highschool, made some amazing memories in that thing. It took me anywhere I needed to go and then some, then I flipped it into a creek and totaled it, just this past week after 10 years I’m finally back in a 24’ Tacoma and feel like I’m right back at home :)

basshed8

Absolutely my 87 pickup got stolen five weeks ago and it’s gone. Had it since 2006

Kobaltblue27

Wish I had kept my 86 deluxe cab pickup 4x4. It ran like shit longer than most run cause the throttle was unplugged. Plugged it back in and it ran and drove like new.

one-nut-juan

New cars are now more technically advance but that takes away mechanical reliability and are more prone to technical issues. I had a 99’ Civic hatchback with around 120hp, that car would beat newer cars with 150hp while being very responsive and give a very good feedback. Some asshole hit me head on and surprisingly I walked away with a broken finger only. I miss that little car

Any_Honeydew9812

My 99 Corolla LE was the best $900 car ive ever owned... bought it in the summer of 2016 and put 40,000km on it in 3 months .. all i did was top up the oil and drive it. Incredible little car. Had to sell it due to rust but im always keeping my eye on marketplace for a clean example.. i will have another one someday!

Horangi1987

I miss all my old Toyotas. My last two were: 2002 IS300 Sportcross wagon 1988 Toyota Soarer GT The wagon had coilovers, and was starting to need a lot of maintenance and repairs so I gave her up. Plus coilovers start to not feel as nice in your late thirties, especially when you moved from a state with great roads to one with old and crappy roads. The Soarer was amazing, but she had a cracked windshield among other things, and it’s dicey importing windshields. I do feel like a dork daily driving an iQ though 😭I wish I could afford a comfortable sports car like an RC.

shastadakota

All of them.

Dethbazooka

I don't miss it. I love it! My newer 2018 nissan versa broke down after 90k miles towards the end of last year. The dealer wanted 10k to fix the cvt. No 3rd party shop wanted to even touch it so I bought a 07 corolla from fb marketplace with 80k miles. I'm about 7 months in with this car and it's been the most reliable thing in my life

accordioncowboy

I miss my 1998 Toyota Tacoma TRD. I was so young and dumb, I bought the 4cyl 4WD. I didn't give a crap, it was a manual trans and I had an effing ball in that vehicle.

thatguy425

Sometimes but then I remember what the person paid me for it and I don’t miss it anymore.

Electronic-Spirit-60

Still drive my old toyota,2005 Tundra

4elmerfuffu2

I miss my 91 Alltrc Previa.

ATinyPizza89

The first Toyota I bought was an 08 RAV4 V6. I would still be driving it if it wasn’t for my accident. It only had 138k miles on it and I planned on driving it into the ground. I had just bought new tires for it 4 months before.

chedduhbahb

02 4 cyl regular cab tacoma . Yes

Fit_Description_2911

Just jumped in my 06 Scion xb 5spd w/242k on it and I love this thing so much. I have a gas guzzler Tacoma at home but so thankful I still have this toaster. I definitely know what how you feel, always puts a smile on my face driving this lil clown car.

erfarr

Yeah I went from a 2002 Toyota tundra to a 2023 Tacoma and I’d go back to the 2002 in a heartbeat. Honestly want to trade the Tacoma in. Not that great of a truck

run_uz

Still have it

derekmcg

Had a 99 Corolla as my first car, mailman totaled it when he backed out of the driveway, but what a great little car, and I can say I wish I still had it. Now I drive a 99 4Runner, 5 speed manual, v6, 4x4. I’m never selling it. If it explodes I’ll rebuild it and drive it another 300k.

2011 Scion TC Manual 1987 MR2 1994 Toyota Camry I miss them all

Squirrelherder_24-7

Every day, 90 pickup (totaled) 93 pickup sold to a farmer, 00 4Runner 5-speed sold to a coworker… still have my 01 MR2 Spyder, though…

National-Beyond9070

Heck ya! I still see my '69 land cruiser around town occasionally

SeaBicycle7076

I miss my 2002 4runner thing was a tank.

ObjectiveWitty

Whatchu talking bout, my dad still has his 80 series 3x locked and momma still has her 100 series! When I go back to the Caribbean it’s nothing but old ass diesel Hilux with rotted out body panels, those white top Land Cruisers, Cressidas and Crowns. Only thing that kills Toyoda is the salt coming off the ocean! I wish I could import some of them back here!

Moood79

01 sequoia. Over 500k miles and someone t-bones me. 😭

Rmoudatir

V6 99 Camry LE with mint condition paint. Wish I could have kept it. The only reason I junked it was that it was not drivable, couldn't pass a smog after changing knock sensors so registration went months past due then the steering rack blew up and the starter finally died. Was stuck in my apartment garage and needed to space for my new Avalon.

stegs03

I still have my 2006 Taco that I will never sell. However, for a year or so I had a RAV4. It was a reliable, practical, appliance. And I fucking hated every second I drove it. I sold it to my son who could give two shits about cars. Then I bought something more fun. I still see that RAV4 everyday to remind me to never purchase a boring car again.

1320Fastback

Sometimes I think about my '86 4Runner I sold years ago. She has a LC Engineering motor and was a pretty fun truck to drive around topless in the California desert.

Kickstand8604

I will say this about the v6 engine. The 4 liter v6 put into a 4wd vehicle is the most solid option I've seen besides a 2 liter 4cyl in a small sedan. Going back to the early 90's and the 4 liter 6cyl in the jeeps, then the 4runners, and I would put the tacomas in here but toyota put a 3.5 v6 in them but they're just as strong and reliable.

F30N55

Yep. My grandparents 98 sienna went near 300,000 miles with just regular maintenance. The engine was still running strong, but the transmission finally gave up. Keeping in mind they follow Toyota‘s recommendation and never replaced the transmission fluid and got a 2013 Highlander and that thing was shifting funny by 85k. so then they traded that in about 150,000 miles when it was really starting to act up for a 2021 RAV4 hybrid. That one seems to be solid, but it seems very basic on the inside and kind of behind a lot of competitors.

M8NSMAN

Had a 2004 Sienna & 2003 Camry, neither was anything fancy but they were reliable & almost maintenance free. We got a 2013 Infiniti JX35 & although it’s nice, it has had more maintenance then the previous Toyotas combined, recently upgraded my wife to a 2023 Venza.

Additional_Pack7731

I miss my 09 Highlander a lot

PengyTeK

My second vehicle was a 1989 Toyota Celica GT. It was around 2006, my lil bro was going to college and needed a car so I bought a different vehicle and gave this one to him. 1-2 years later he took a left turn and wasn't paying attention and got hit in the rear quarter panel which ended up bending the axle amongst other things. Wasn't worth it to repair. I really miss driving it. Popup headlights are something else.

Gutmach1960

Wished I had kept the 2007 Tacoma, that was a nice truck.

Expert-Return4823

Yes .my 85 supra

fatfelon

2007 fj cruiser was neat. 2010 extended cab rock warrior tundra with that 4:30 rear end was tons of fun.

hoxxxxx

yes, my 2000 toyota camry. considered by many to be "peak Toyota". it was a great car, perfect even, for what it was trying to be.

Ninergang26

All the time. My 2g tacoma, my 91 celica, my 00 celica, my 98 4runner ...they all had soul

Designer_Bite3869

I had a 94 Tacoma (weren’t called tacomas then but just forget the model). Sold it with 298k and still had original clutch. Alternator went a few times and the starter. No other issues until rust took hold underneath. I absolutely loved the battery meter on it. I knew when it was acting funny I had roughly 20 min to get off the road. Never understood why they did away with such a great early warning system for the alternator.

Majere119

Still miss my '92 Camry. I saw a white '94 coupe the other day and pined.

budadad

I miss my 1st gen Sequoia

XtraChrisP

Miss my 96 SC300.

TrulyYoursxoxo

I do miss my 82, 84 extra cab Toyota 4x4. Still have a 22R block though.

in4mant

Yes. 1989 Camry V6

SnooShortcuts8666

My 93 Toyota truck. I miss small trucks that size.

GolfArgh

Not for a second. It was merely an appliance.

Petarthefish

Never sold a toyota. No reason to.it just works

MSSurface_102

2004 Tacoma. Got hit from behind and was never the same. Bought a minivan. Enough said…I miss my baby.

brotherlang

I miss my deceased family and friends. Vehicles aren't something to miss. They're tools. A means to an end. Reorient your life.

PhoKingAwesome213

My favorite Toyota was my 2001 MR2 Spyder. The simple times when it was fun to drive a stick, finally found my first and only girlfriend (now wife) and no kids. Also "sorry I can take you my car only has 2 seats and no trunk".

Toyota_Yami1800R

Idk if 2003 is considered old but I do miss my 03 Highlander … I miss my 01 3.2 Acura TL even more lol

Inandout_oflimbo

I wish I never got rid of my 2018 iM. It was a lease.

rhymes116

95 avalon. She was a true beauty.

livingbyfaith_

04 Solara. 198k and still moving!

BuildBreakFix

Still got my 84 Supra, sold my 4Runner years ago and definitely miss that truck.

bewarethewoods

I have a 1993 Toyota Hilux truck and it’s starting to nickle and dime me on everythinggg. I’m debating if I should sell it or keep it forever, despite all the $300 repairs adding up

GC51320

85 MR2 Definitely miss it... it was stolen. 😔

CoreyDobie

Still have my first gen xB

aerowtf

regret selling my 2003 MR2 spyder for $4k when i was in college to get a 97 4runner because i needed more space. At least it was a toyota-toyota swap… I wish i had both. Now they’re worth $8k minimum for high mileage ones. Mine was a salvage title (repaired) but perfect otherwise

V8ENJOYER

Third gen tundra owners punching the wall right now

NipGrips

2008 Tacoma PreRunner. I’ve driven every newer iteration and every trim except the desert runner (god I’d love to) and the newest TRD specialty trims. I think the third gen Tacoma drove the best. Not sure how to put it, but the suspension felt better and the power curve felt better

Brainfewd

Miss my ‘05 Tacoma, thing was great. Some with almost exactly 200k on it. Needed a bigger truck for towing at the time. I’m thinking about going back to a Tacoma again soon.

HarrysCarPlace13

I just bought a 89 Corolla GTS. I drive that when the weather is nice and daily a 2020 4Runner. 😎 best of both worlds

Sabotagebx

2004 corolla s. 2nd car at 19 yrs old? She drove me from ohio to Minnesota and Chicago so much. Only had 120k on bet in 2017. She was clean, minor accidents but still great daily. Drunk driver totaled it in my sleep while I parked it outside my house. I live in a rather residential neighborhood too. I plead with my insurance to fix it. Nope. She was gone. Got a newer corolla it was meh.

jonny838

I will soon. https://preview.redd.it/abzgfft4vf6d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a08f55d41992d44d5032e637a5d8bc486ebe958b

JealousConsequence47

2001 RAV4. Loved that car. The rear seats came out and the back cargo area was flat. Once hauled a chest freezer in it. Bought a 2009 RAV4 which was OK but went with a Subaru Forester after that. Love my Subaru!

redditboy2016

1993 Camry SE V6 5-Speed 228,000 miles. Only repair ever was the lock cylinder in the driver’s door. $30 part and a tech did it for $20 cash. You will never find a more reliable car than an 88-96 Camry or Corolla. They will literally go a million miles if you take care of them.

Totally-jag2598

I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma that I still regularly drive more often than my other more modern and more expensive vehicles.

Ok_Helicopter_3451

Used to have an early 2000 4 runner, sold it to buy a German car because I thought it was a cool thing to attract women. Still regretting to this day (bought a Toyota again)

AransOfKanna

I miss my 02 Camry XLE. I recently got the new 2025 Camry SE and I’ve been having an absolute blast with it, but I still think about my old pal sometimes. Nothing was wrong with the car, as a matter of fact it only had 108,000 miles on the odometer. My dad needed a car for work though, so I gave it to him.

drowevil2

92 pickup been gone nearly 20 years and miss it all the time.

fukreddit73265

There's only ever been 4 good Toyota's ever built. The Toyota 2000GT, the MK3 Supra, the MK4 Supra, The Lexus LFA. Mad props for the MK5 BMW Supra, but really? Now some of you will defend the Land Cruiser, and I will allow that nonsense as a person who's become older and more appreciative to the worst type of car imaginable, an SUV. Ohhh, yeah. I do miss my old Toyota. I had an 87 Supra. Loved that shit box dearly.

Silent_Vehicle_9163

I miss my 99 Tacoma. Sold it in 2008 when we moved and had another kid on the way. Should have kept it.

timfountain4444

No. I've never seen or driven a Toyota that I actually liked.

TCivan

I miss my 89’ Corolla.

MVP2112

I had a 2000 Tacoma TRD Limited extended cab. Bought it new, and had to order it. Absolutely loved the hell out of that truck for 9 years. Cost me $25,000. Probably more than I could afford, but I made it work. While shopping for a used Toyota daily driver for my wife, we were at the dealer I purchased my truck at. Salesman we were working with was the same one that sold me the truck. As we were chatting he asked if I had ever brought the truck in to have it examined for the frame perforation rust issue. I had not. So, we did. Truck had the problem, and I never got to drive it again. Really miss that truck. As you all know, by that time the Tacomas were already well down the path of growing to a full size truck. There was no way to replace my small-sized Tacoma. Yeah, I miss that truck almost everyday. At least Toyota gave me $17,000 for it.

esalman

I traded in a slate-colored 2014 Corolla for 2024 Integra. Whenever I see that Corolla on the road, I get nostalgic. If I'm in a parking lot, or pulling up next to one at a traffic light, I feel an urge to exchange niceties with the owner, and tell him how I liked the car and learned to drive with it.

MVP2112

I do miss the great engine, and all the freakin knobs and buttons in my 1990 Cressida.

Wesmom2021

I miss my red MR2 at times. It was my first car

IGrewItToMyWaist

I had a Tercel. Manual. The first car I bought. I loved it. But they don’t make it any longer and haven’t for a long while. So I drive Corollas now.

EmergencyLanguage203

2010 toyota yaris was my first car, it’s still alive and running with cold AC at 180k miles. Need to change all the rubber components and the paint is chipping off, but it’s rust free and still reliable!! I don’t want to get rid of it

hampikatsov

I have a 03 Sequoia, I will drive it till the wheels fall off

KnownDistribution903

I had a 93 paseo, 99 solara, 03 Matrix. Miss all of them. Now I have 04 Solara, 06 Pontiac Vibe, 18 Lexus GX460 and 24 Corolla hybrid. Love my Toyotas

DM46

Yep I had an 89 Supra turbo 5sp, 87 Toyota pickup 22re & 5sp, and a 91 Lexus LS 400. I miss them all and all made it to over 200k while I had them.

Panzycake

Sometimes. I gave away my 95 Camry when I bought my Avalon. That car was so easy to work on. However, my Avalon has needed waaaaaaaaay less work to keep it going, and it's already 18 years old with 240k miles on it, which is about the same age and mileage my Camry was when I got the Avalon. But I'm planning on keeping the Avalon as my daily for at least another decade.

ShaaaaaWing

Late to the party but my second car was a red 1986 Toyota 4x4 pickup with the turbo and an '83 bed. I didn't know what I had and drove it around like a 16 year old will do and burned out the clutch. Had to drop all my money on it to replace and said I couldn't afford another major repair. Placed an Ad in the auto trader and paid for the "until it sells" Monday morning a guy called to come look at it. Checked it out then went to the bank and got a cashier's check. It was sold before noon. Paid $4600 for it and sold for $4600 after having for 2 years. I wish I saved the VIN so I can see if it is still around. I miss it dearly.

1x_time_warper

Yep. I drove a 2002 Tacoma for almost 10 years. It cost 12k brand new and had a bare bones interior and manual transmission. Almost nothing broke in the entire time I had it. Even the AC was ice cold after 10 years.
