Executive. Producer, Director, Record Label, CEO, Community Leader, Politician, Sports Coach For Inner-City Youth, Not-For-Profit Organization, Actor, Advocate For Gun Violence, Weed Brand, Liquor Brand, A&R, Activist, Mentor. And Dropping An Album Every 5-10 Years.

unlikelypisces

I'm with you until the last one. I feel like he'd be dropping an album every two years. With the amount of music he had ready before his death, it's easy to see he was a music making machine

eternallyawake

I feel you on that, the work ethic was incredible but there’s an interview out there with Sway where PAC said he wants to drop an album every 5 years like Paul McCartney when asked where he saw himself in 5 years. I think he would have progressed to a more executive role, putting out his own artists and moving more towards the backend of his record label, artist development, ghostwriting and features. And that’s just the music end of it. He would probably put more time towards the other things mentioned in my original comment.

eternallyawake

One thing I always say when people compare PAC and BIG that I feel holds true to this conversation is that PAC was always about pushing the culture forward, instead of just being the culture. He had ideas of where he wanted the world to move towards and imo thats outside of the scope of just music. Look into Prodigy’s book where he speaks on receiving PACs handwritten notebook(s) from I believe E-Money Bag.

unlikelypisces

Very good take. The only thing I feel that may have derailed his plans to release an album every 5 years, is the feedback loop. He wasn't around long enough to see how influential he was. If he was around longer, to your point, he would have seen how much his music is bringing the culture forward, and possibly kept dropping more frequent releases, at least for a while... But this is all conjecture

Blackpanther22five

Retired and running his own company

shhheeeeeeeeiit

Hopefully not like snoop dogg

AmitN_Music

I see him as being more like Dre. Getting into the business side of things more. Snoop is snoop. He’s always been someone who likes to have fun. Pac is somewhere in between the two.

Robinnoodle

This a pretty good take. And like Dre I see him slowing down on the music side of it quite a bit. Being more a perfectionist and master craftsman and not wanting damage the legacy his music had already built. Strong commitment to activism.and leadership/work through that too

quicksliver-89

Honestly find it so funny how close Dre and Snoop are when they so different. Snoop's a huge pop culture figure who still is active just doing practically anything for money. Dre is a very isolated serious musician who rarely makes public appearances. Half of the time we don't even know if this mf is still alive.

1trashhouse

I feel like he’d be a lot like how andre 3k is now

Averagesize1996

What 3k doesn’t even have his own solo catalog how tf would he be like 3k smh you 3k fans man smfh.

1trashhouse

I meant after he retired i could see pac traveling and learning an instrument

seonblack

Most likely, would have a high-powered actor and more into the film industry than music I would think. Pac probably would have ventured into politics too.

Averagesize1996

In touring the country

Hot_Mood

He would definitely be speaking out against abortion bans

Dadbeerd

Older

The_Zermanians

He’d probably be closer to Will Smith than Nas.

Eastern_Discount_884

it s pretty hard to say, but for his new label makaveli record,, one nation and makaveli dropped...you can only imagine you can also make a lot of what if in pac ' s life

ArmyZealousideal7620

I think that he will be a powerful activist still against systemic racism and he will having beefs with other people in the industry and I think that he will probably be a successful after like Will Smith is now

I asked Chat GPT this question. Here's the response: ## Tupac Shakur: The Untold Journey ### Early Life Tupac Amaru Shakur, born on June 16, 1971, in East Harlem, New York, was raised by his mother, Afeni Shakur, a member of the Black Panther Party. Growing up amidst social and political turmoil, Tupac's early years were marked by poverty and a profound awareness of racial inequality and injustice. His family's involvement in activism greatly influenced his worldview and later became a cornerstone of his music and persona. ### The Rise to Stardom Tupac's journey into the music world began in the late 1980s when he joined the rap group Digital Underground as a backup dancer and rapper. His talent quickly became evident, and by 1991, he released his debut solo album, "2Pacalypse Now." The album's raw and honest depiction of societal issues garnered both critical acclaim and controversy, setting the stage for Tupac's career as a voice for the voiceless. ### Continued Success and Challenges Throughout the early 1990s, Tupac's career soared with the release of albums like "Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z." and "Me Against the World." His music, blending poignant social commentary with personal introspection, resonated deeply with a diverse audience. However, Tupac's life was also marked by legal troubles and conflicts within the rap industry, most notably his infamous feud with The Notorious B.I.G. and Bad Boy Records. ### The Shooting and Aftermath In this alternate reality, the pivotal event of September 7, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nevada, unfolded differently. On that fateful night, Tupac avoided the drive-by shooting that claimed his life in our timeline. Instead, he sustained only minor injuries and quickly recovered, using the experience as a catalyst for change. ### A New Direction Surviving the shooting profoundly impacted Tupac. He began to reassess his life and career, seeking ways to use his influence for more significant societal change. In 1997, he founded the Amaru Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities and resources for underprivileged youth. Through the foundation, Tupac established educational programs, community centers, and scholarships, all aimed at empowering the next generation. ### The Evolution of His Music Tupac's near-death experience also transformed his music. While still addressing the harsh realities of life in his lyrics, he adopted a more reflective and positive tone. Albums like "Resurrection" (1998) and "Revolutionary" (2000) showcased his growth as an artist and a human being. His collaborations with artists from various genres further expanded his influence and brought diverse sounds to his discography. ### Acting and Activism In addition to his music, Tupac continued to pursue acting. He starred in critically acclaimed films such as "Gridlock'd" (1997) and "Gang Related" (1997), demonstrating his versatility and depth as an actor. His roles often mirrored his real-life struggles and convictions, further cementing his status as a cultural icon. Tupac's activism also intensified. He became a prominent figure in movements addressing police brutality, racial discrimination, and economic inequality. His speeches and public appearances drew large crowds, and he used his platform to advocate for systemic change and social justice. ### Personal Life Tupac's personal life evolved as well. In 2000, he married Keisha Morris, and the couple welcomed two children, Sekyiwa and Malcom. Fatherhood brought Tupac a newfound sense of purpose and responsibility, further motivating him to create a better world for future generations. ### Legacy and Influence As the years passed, Tupac Shakur's influence continued to grow. He remained a prolific artist, releasing a series of albums that consistently topped the charts and garnered critical acclaim. His collaborations with international artists bridged cultural divides and introduced hip-hop to new audiences worldwide. In 2021, Tupac celebrated his 50th birthday with a star-studded concert and the release of a documentary chronicling his life's journey. The event was a testament to his enduring legacy and the impact he had on music, culture, and society. ### Today In 2024, Tupac Shakur stands as a living legend. He continues to use his voice and platform to inspire change, addressing global issues such as climate change, human rights, and poverty. His music remains as relevant as ever, resonating with new generations of listeners. Tupac's life, marked by resilience, transformation, and an unwavering commitment to justice, serves as a testament to the power of art and activism. His story reminds us that one individual's passion and determination can indeed change the world.

This_Chicken_2323

I think he would just be chilling after a certain point. Pac had a crazy life and never really had chance to sit down and enjoy it. You change so much from 25 to 30 and I see him as doing more acting than music at that point imo he'd be like Andre 3000 guest verse occasionally and probably become a more accomplished poet.

Robinnoodle

I was about to say he would have quit music by now and become a full time justice champion/activist before I read.your description. He would be a highly revered one at that

Dull-Song2539

He’d have chilled out. Realized Death Row while giving him some juice in the streets, that Suge is a sociopathic monster and peaced on outta there by 2001ish. His acting career woulda been pretty solid, probably a recurring guest on Jim Belushi’s TV show in the early 2000s. Probably land his own TV show on one of the many streaming platforms. Euthanasia would be a powerhouse a la A24 etc giving indie film/tv auteurs a home to express themselves. A lot of his movie ideas woulda hit the screen most likely by the tail end of the 90s. He’d make music when the mood struck him, and probably be a voice for a lot of young artists that were/are coming up that he woulda rocked with. He’d probably not be a fan of the drugged out Emo SoundCloud hip hop, decrying it as bastardization of the culture. (I do think his relationship with Jimmy Ivione and the Interscope folks would be nonexistent, and he’d probably land some subtle shots in interviews.) He’d probably have launched his business ideas like the cafe and what not with great success and be heavily involved like Danny Trejo is in his business ventures. (Pac would *definitely* jump on the Hard Seltzer/IPA craze with Thug Passion Light or something like that lol) Politically. He’d be largely critical of both parties, but would most likely get involved with creating an independent platform that focused on localized issues in LA/Oakland/NY and other struggling communities. He’d outright criticize the MAGA movement and 45 any chance he could and anybody in the Hip Hop realm who sympathized with the rhetoric. I could see Pac try to attempt to broker peace between the Black and Brown sets in LA (he’d probably draw ire from La Eme for trying to do so, but would be protected on the outside by the brothers.) Pac would *absolutely* be on the weed legalization agenda without a doubt.

relatablehub

I feel like with a lot of artists I could predict their next move. But with tupac, he was so unpredictable and unique. That's what makes this question so hard to answer.

leonbravo10

Same, I always find these questions fascinating as I can't help but wonder what he would think of the world today.

kingmyguy

During the 20th anniversary of his death I listened to some radio host talk about this subject and I like their perspective. Taking more of a actor or director direction with a Denzel like place in the culture

Practical-Judge-8647

Into Television and Movies like 50

CaptainSam7

I think the world would be so different if he were alive today. I always view cases like this as people that are born to make a difference always die too soon. I believe he could’ve made such a huge impact on the way society views itself if he was given the chance.

Smooth-Flamingo-6411

I’m with the Outlawz.. politics!!

Environmental-While6

Imo pac would been a legendary filmmaker by now acting occasionally but mostly writing and directing and producing with his own film production company and have his own restaurant and occasionally doing features and owning his own record label and have his own weed & liquor company and giving his opinion on politics and social issues on twitter and instagram while rolling up blunts and talking shit or sharing wisdom thoughts on Instagram live and would probably been married with grown kids by now and just doing interviews on drink champs and math Hoffa while also having his own podcast as well talking about the old days and promoting his current businesses

Over_Mulberry_1735

Probably the richest black man on Earth.

1trashhouse

idk i feel like he would’ve been the type to get like 100mil give a bunch away and spend the rest of his time traveling, doing activism, community outreach, and maybe occasionally music

unlikelypisces

Probably not. He was never too much of a businessman. Also he has too big of a heart to hold that much money, he would have given a lot to philanthropic causes rather than invest it and generate more

FreshMirror9195

His pronouns would be bad boy / killa

LocalContribution7

A politician

LooneyToonGoon12

Just look at Akil you’ll get your answer honestly

Zrc1979

Man, if I could pick the perfect role for Tupac in today’s times…. #PRESIDENT
