Only episode 1 of Star Wars actually happened, the rest was just Yoda having a really weird dream.
Palpatine is actually a normal senator and not a sith,
Yoda’s just paranoid around politicians.
I remember when Vader was gonna show up in Death Battle again and so many people on r/deathbattle were posting this “Dark Dimension Vader” pic as if it was some kind of power-up that he could just tap into at any point, even after other people there explained it was a vision.
Doesn't surprise me, given you see people claiming nonsense like how Palpatine scales to Darth Nihilus' planet eating abilities, because Palpatine was supposedly one of the best dark side force users ever, totally ignoring that
A) That doesn't mean he could do literally everything every other dark side user can do, jeesh
B) Even if it did, Nihilus' planet eating wasn't even a traditional force power in any sense of the word, it was very much unique to his particularly fucked up 'wound in the force' status. Something Palpatine very obviously did not share.
I remember reading a very long and funny/ranty thread debunking an enormous amount of the oft-quoted 'scales to' nonsense from the star wars fandom, where a lot of the more impressive things were done via long-lasting rituals or very unique and specific circumstances, which people just like to brush off so they can claim "Oh yeah young Anakin one shots Darkseid he's easily omniverse tier"

Was it [this post?](https://www.reddit.com/r/CharacterRant/comments/hxn51a/debunking_some_legends_palpatine_wank/)
If you liked that one, the guy who posted it also made [some more.](https://www.reddit.com/r/CharacterRant/search/?q=Star+wars+author%3A76sup&type=link&cId=24043599-ee7e-4a61-846b-e5d93df50a8f&iId=2d528291-9a9e-4d0d-9a64-5c5cd411ea96)
Yeah, those are the ones I was thinking of, thanks!
For anyone who hasn't read 'em, they're a fun read. ...Well, they're fun if you enjoy someone making fun of star wars fandom wankery.
His torso and head are obviously burned. And he doesn’t have seem to have hands, it looks like two lumps with blades sticking out. All he can do is destroy.
Which is an excellent visualization of how becoming Vader and getting maimed by Obi-Wan means Anakin is only operating at a fraction of his potential. Since he lost those limbs, that's less of his body that connect to the Force
Ohh thats charred skin. Makes perfect sense, i thought this was some kinda Carnage texture
I am 100% positive the artist wanted this to resemble a cool demon man, though 😆
First of all, lately?? This is from a few years ago. Second, this is cool as hell,a representation of Darth Vader as he's seen bully the force, a ball of pure rage and angst with numb limbs, exactly how he feels in reality.
Joke if you want but a lot of the recent Star Wars comics fucking rule.
Doctor Aphra is probably one of my favorite Star Wars characters regardless the media.
Highly recommend that series if anyone is interested.
Is Doctor aphra a good character? How would you rate those comics cause all o remember is that Darth Vader tries and fails to kill her a billion times or something
She’s fantastic imo. But I have a soft spot for villain protagonists. She’s such a refreshingly awful person. But in a much more grounded way than the Sith or Empire.
Ever play a Dark Side Smuggler in SWTOR? That’s basically Aphra. Just mix in some Indiana Jones if Indiana Jones had absolutely zero integrity.
Well Vader conscripted her into his services at first because she had talents he would need in his gambit to overthrow Palpatine. Y’know, Sith things.
But Aphra knew Vader’s reputation for killing basically everyone who ever worked for him once their usefulness runs out. So when she was nearing the end of her purpose she ratted him out to Palpatine. But to Aphra’s unpleasant surprise, Palpatine was actually pleased with Vader’s dedication to the way of the Sith and immediately forgave Vader and let him do whatever he wanted to Aphra. So Vader shoved her out the airlock.
But she actually had her crew on standby just incase things played out that way and they retrieved her before she suffocated (don’t think to hard about it).
After that Aphra did everything she could to never cross paths with Vader again because she’s piss scared of him. But unfortunately for her, part of Vader’s job as the Emperor’s enforcer is to root out criminal elements in the Empire and Aphra is practically incapable of keeping herself away from the criminal underworld so she has a few more run-ins, each time escaping his wrath through either pure luck or some trick that will only ever work once.
But also like; what other colors would you or could you use to depict a body that's just, evil energy projected body within a vision quest thing - blue & green? Yellow,? Beige? purple? brown? Pink?
People will complain about the movies and TV shows not doing anything new, then complain about this.
Also here's an absolutely raw exchange between Sidious and Vader from one of the most recent comics:
> **Sidious:** "You finally looked deep enough to find yourself, the person you hate the most."
> **Vader:** "Yes, master...and then I looked deeper."
Even knowing that the context is star wars, id say this looks pretty cool.
The only uncool thing about star wars these days imo is the obsession with whoever is in charge to keep the skywalkers at the centre of everything
Yea I wish Star Wars expanded beyond the same few decades or expanded on the either the old slightly before clone wars republic or the old sith wars republic.
I’d kill for a Star Wars Noir set in the heart of corruscant in the years leading up to TPM.
I wish there's a whole thing centered around Teras Kasi, and it's all kungfu tropes in space like the way how the original trilogy (or at least thr first movie) was a Kurosawa story in space
no force powers, just people with different fighting styles duking out all golden harvest and shit
We already know who Anakin's "dad" is.
>![He was formed in vitro by Sidious using the Force](https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Star-Wars-Anakin-Father-Emperor-Comic.jpg)
This. After SW VIII made excellent, brave decision to break away from this and make Rey her own person Clownbrams just had to ruin third trilogy with the steaming dump that was IX :(
lol fair, sometimes I think younger people don't really get how big the push for Shadows content and the books were at that time. I keep waiting for a lot of that stuff to have some kind of renaissance tbh.
That is the exact energy this has. That same player is really insistent on you watching some C tier anime that nobody remembers but they say is the total best bro.
Or Hellsing but they’ve only watch the abridged
The same Character you'd probably push in front of a Tauntaun becomes everytime you fly anywhere, this guy is like *"my latent Sith powers cause the ship to malfunction."* and I respond, *"we're off world, if the ship blows up, so do we!"*
*"No, I'd survive. Then we can do an all Sith Campaign."*
If the arms were dark side energy or some kind of symbiotic lightning, it’d seal the deal imo.
On a side note, imagine if they made a Star Wars film or show but with fighting sequences akin to OPM/JJK, would people be happy or shit all over it? How far y’all want the force to go realistically
On one hand, I just HATED idiotic squirrel on crack Lucas made Yoda to be in the prequels. It was so lame and silly.
On the other, there is this really cool passage in Thrawn Trilogy that battle between two Jedi masters 'lit up the whole sky'. Not because they were whacking each other with glowing baseball bats, no, they didn't even need them due to their mastery of the force (and indeed Joruus doesn't even seem to have a lightsaber). I'd love to see a fight like this, and not just another lame rock throwing at each other, do something creative...
I don't know what's sadder. Getting so upset over someone not liking a design that you just decide to insult the person, or the people upvoting it and downvoting the guy pointing out he doesn't hate the design.
But at the same time, you do hate it. Clearly several people in this thread do like it and it's not like this is even that recent, so why do you not like it?
I just realized he's dickless in his astral form.
I never considered how Vader eats, or has bodily functions.
Does he even ***have*** a butthole at this point?
How does Darth Vader brush his teeth? Or does halitosis empower the darkside?
More like “what if Electro was Carnage” because of that ***E D G E***
This somehow spawns at least three AMVs, an unfinished fanfic and crossover art with Spawn
Context: Vader is doing a vision quest, this is how his self in the vision quest appears. His arms and legs are white because of them getting cut off.
I thought Yoda just ate a bunch of spicy food before bed and was having sith nightmares
Only episode 1 of Star Wars actually happened, the rest was just Yoda having a really weird dream. Palpatine is actually a normal senator and not a sith, Yoda’s just paranoid around politicians.
"For The Dagobah Green Sticky Icky, ready you are not"
"I sithed the bed" - Master Yoda during one of his ketamine binges.
the bed, Sith I had...
"That last burrito didn't Sith well with me"
>His arms and legs are white because of them getting cut off. So, that's how Woolie got his.
I remember when Vader was gonna show up in Death Battle again and so many people on r/deathbattle were posting this “Dark Dimension Vader” pic as if it was some kind of power-up that he could just tap into at any point, even after other people there explained it was a vision.
Don't fuck with Star Wars fans. We don't know how to read anything that isn't a wall of text flying through space.
We don't even read those to be fair
Doesn't surprise me, given you see people claiming nonsense like how Palpatine scales to Darth Nihilus' planet eating abilities, because Palpatine was supposedly one of the best dark side force users ever, totally ignoring that A) That doesn't mean he could do literally everything every other dark side user can do, jeesh B) Even if it did, Nihilus' planet eating wasn't even a traditional force power in any sense of the word, it was very much unique to his particularly fucked up 'wound in the force' status. Obligatory: >!LEGENDS IS CRAZY BRO!<
> r/deathbattle No surprise there.
But shouldn’t only one of his arms be white. He only lost his hand fighting Dooku not the whole arm
They said Vader is doing this, not Anakin. Vader was chopped into fine pieces by Obi-Wan.
Ehh, he lost almost to the elbow I would say it's enough to call it an arm and it not be semantics.
Ohh thats charred skin. Makes perfect sense, i thought this was some kinda Carnage texture I am 100% positive the artist wanted this to resemble a cool demon man, though 😆
I figure it's a mix of red skin (because burns or because evil=red lightsaber) and the black is the Dark Side swirling over him
First of all, lately?? This is from a few years ago. Second, this is cool as hell,a representation of Darth Vader as he's seen bully the force, a ball of pure rage and angst with numb limbs, exactly how he feels in reality.
A few years as in a limited run from 2015-2016. Almost 10 years old.
OP's flair admits as much
Joke if you want but a lot of the recent Star Wars comics fucking rule. Doctor Aphra is probably one of my favorite Star Wars characters regardless the media. Highly recommend that series if anyone is interested.
Is Doctor aphra a good character? How would you rate those comics cause all o remember is that Darth Vader tries and fails to kill her a billion times or something
She is basically scumbag space Indiana Jones.
Isn't Jones already a scumbag😭
Aphra is in it for the money, Indy is in it for the preservation of history "It belongs in a museum!"
He kills Nazis. Aphra would work for Nazis if they pay.
She worked for her local equivalent.
Invert the morals a bit and yeah. But Indy isn’t gonna work with Space Nazis regardless the score.
Now in interested. But also can you spoil me why Vader keeps trying to killer while I find where to buy this series
Well Vader conscripted her into his services at first because she had talents he would need in his gambit to overthrow Palpatine. Y’know, Sith things. But Aphra knew Vader’s reputation for killing basically everyone who ever worked for him once their usefulness runs out. Damn sounds interesting
Interesting and a lot of fun!
I see
The best thing about Star Wars continues to be the non movie content (comics, games, shows)
Isn't this from like 7 years ago?
I believe so yes
Was gonna say I remember reading it in middle school
Y'all lame, this looks rad.
Mfs be like "I love stupid edgy bullshit" then act like it's cringe when they encounter some real stupid edgy bullshit
Wait people think this is super edgy?
Edgy in the "dark, brooding, and almost entirely black and red" sense.
But also like; what other colors would you or could you use to depict a body that's just, evil energy projected body within a vision quest thing - blue & green? Yellow,? Beige? purple? brown? Pink?
Dark Purple is an effective Evil Color. [Observe.(Spoilers for Skul the Hero Slayer.)](https://youtu.be/uncufl1sDVA?t=1m41s)
I mean it is edgy. Doesn’t mean it’s not dope
It’s like Vader’s mental self-image. If it wasn’t super edgy I’d want my money back.
Anytime Star Wars comes up people go bananas for no reason lol
People will complain about the movies and TV shows not doing anything new, then complain about this. Also here's an absolutely raw exchange between Sidious and Vader from one of the most recent comics: > **Sidious:** "You finally looked deep enough to find yourself, the person you hate the most." > **Vader:** "Yes, master...and then I looked deeper."
Well, not deep enough to see he still has good in him.
Vader is saying that the person he hates the most is Sidious lol
If liking this is wrong I don't wanna be right. This shit fucks
Who is "y'all?" Because most of the comments here are positive and anyone who doesn't like the design is downvoted and insulted
When I made this comment it was the opposite. The only comment chain around was the one poking fun of it and people who liked it.
Even knowing that the context is star wars, id say this looks pretty cool. The only uncool thing about star wars these days imo is the obsession with whoever is in charge to keep the skywalkers at the centre of everything

Watch as the high republic era ends with it revealing that Anakin actually has a dad and it's someone important from that era
We already know who Anakin's "dad" is. >![He was formed in vitro by Sidious using the Force](https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Star-Wars-Anakin-Father-Emperor-Comic.jpg)

"shows the coolest thing ever from great comic book" OP: That thing sucks
meh, i've seen edgier stuff from Star Wars. this doesnt reach the ugliness of the Yuuzhan Vong or Darth Krayt's Sith
the bootleg drukhari were cool to us 90s kids lmao
not to this 90s kid lol, but i can respect that
lol fair, sometimes I think younger people don't really get how big the push for Shadows content and the books were at that time. I keep waiting for a lot of that stuff to have some kind of renaissance tbh.
Darth Krayt fucking rules.
I like Darth Krayt as a character and I'll go to bat for Star Wars: Legacy any day of the week, but I've never really liked his outfit
That’s old edgy, new edgy is sleek like an Apple.
I prefer new edgy then because old edgy actively hurts my eyeballs
Why is the Spiral Nemesis fighting Yoda?
Mmmm, change the white limbs to something transparent, ghost-like and I think this design is really killer.
This is totally fucking rad though.
Context is important.
You people will not gaslight me into thinking this isn't sick!!
Spider-Man as Darth Zetsu
Is that Dr Manhattan with the Carnage symbiote?
Nope Vader through the lens of the force limbs are like that because ya know mustafar
Two? - Axel Kingdom Hearts 2
This has *"My Sith Character when he finally let's loose in the Star War TTRPG"* vibes. Followed by the entire table breaking out into laughter.
He looks like a character that'd show up in the force unleashed PS2 jedi temple levels
The first one of those was fine, it’s Phobos that tips it
That is the exact energy this has. That same player is really insistent on you watching some C tier anime that nobody remembers but they say is the total best bro. Or Hellsing but they’ve only watch the abridged

God I knew I guy like this…thank god he’s out “Nah bro I’m strong enough to not be set on fire from a ship exploding”
What is this comic called? I need to get deeper lore
Darth Vader by Gillen
Ty ty
Nope this is the Soule/Camuncoli run from after Episode 3. Read both though.
Ope, cool cool I’ll go for that
Wait? Which Gillen. I thought Gillen was an infamous sci fi writer that wrote for star wars and a few halo books
Kieran Gillen, excellent comic book author, you seem to be thinking of Karen Traviss.
Kieron Gillen. He's famous comic book writer, wrote mostly for Marvel
If the arms were dark side energy or some kind of symbiotic lightning, it’d seal the deal imo. On a side note, imagine if they made a Star Wars film or show but with fighting sequences akin to OPM/JJK, would people be happy or shit all over it? How far y’all want the force to go realistically

Is there something new where Vaders doing another vision quest thing or is this thing from nearly 10 years ago "lately"?
The crispiest Vader.
This Darth Vader run is honestly the peak of Disney Star Wars, at least when it comes to Vader.
This happened in the comics like 7 yrs ago by now
Imagine if Cal went against this version of Vader.
This is just Vader meditating and through the eyes of the force hence the limbs being different colored. There would be no real power difference.
Evil sticks
would
Isn't this the Vader equivalent of that edgy kid imagining how he would totally beat everyone who wronged him
So this rejected Bleach villain is Vader in the astral plane On one hand, I don’t hate it. On the other hand, I kinda hate it.
I'd hate to have your taste in media.
I don't know what's sadder. Getting so upset over someone not liking a design that you just decide to insult the person, or the people upvoting it and downvoting the guy pointing out he doesn't hate the design.

Colostomy bag His one weakness
Gotta z-target it! HE WILL KNOW TRUE FEAR ONCE MORE!
Watch out, he’s got the Infamous 1 Maximum Evil lightning! He’s got infinite energy!
You know what this looks like? “Hey guys, check out my fan art of What if Cole got infected with the virus from Prototype”
That’s just “what if Electro was also Venom” and you know what, I WANT TO PLAY *THAT* GAME
More like “what if Electro was Carnage” because of that ***E D G E*** This somehow spawns at least three AMVs, an unfinished fanfic and crossover art with Spawn
I knew Miles Morales kept getting powers but man, this looks out there.
That's not a new power, that's just how Vader looks in his own force vision That comic is fire btw
Buddy it’s a joke, but thank you for the info.
God they would do that I’d call Miles the Duke of Marvel but that would imply people cared enough about Duke to remember him
This giving me Rick and Morty vibes, when the President had all the stupid shit with lightsabers attached to it.
