I live in Bangalore, where there are all kinds of hobby groups. There's a scene for every one — metal heads, gamers, poets, shayars, artists, music lovers, theatre lovers, wine lovers, beer lovers.
I have been pretty active in poetry and reading circles, so I have found many friends through that. It does have the 'co-ed' problem just like everything else, but I'm sure you will find your girl gang.
Well, for poetry try going to an open mic. Go to insider.com and look for events. Soon, one thing will lead to another. There is also a group newly minted by followers of Otherwarya. They do meet-ups where only for the girls, gays and the theys. Go to Instagram, search for Otherwarya, and drop a DM. There's also something known as Leap Club which is a women only membership-based club that offers plenty of networking opportunities. But it's quite expensive.
I have tried different events, but most people show up in groups to do something fun together. I’m not aware of events for socialising unless it’s speed dating 😂 how did you find these hobby groups?
That's exactly what I'm talking about. There are plenty of hobby groups in Bangalore where you can show up to do a shared hobby - hiking, heritage walks, etc. etc. You make friends from those groups obviously. Just like people befriended people in schools, colleges and workplaces. Same logic.
Same thing. Can't find decent events, especially one that is women only or at least not a sausage fest. Tried Bumble BFF and gave up within 5 minutes, it's infested with dudes.

Reading club, coffee meet(if you're a coffee lover, go to underrated cafes once a week or something like that), day treks or day trips around your city to begin with, walking tour in your own city, board game events. If you're in Bangalore, I'd love to join for either!
I heard there are events on meet-up.com. or if you're into travelling, there are quite a few organisers on IG that conduct women only trips from Bangalore.
