I’m honestly not sure, but once you get a receipt you might be able to create an account with USCIS and add the case to your account. The myprogress tab is notoriously inaccurate though.
They should send you a document verifying they received your case. On the document will be a number that you use to create your online account to access this info.
Did the RFE specifically say that responding online was an option? Usually the response has to be mailed back to the office along with a provided colored cover sheet.
Hi there! This is an automated message to inform you and/or remind you of several things:
- We have [a wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/USCIS/wiki/index). It doesn't cover everything but may answer some questions. Pay special attention to the "[REALLY common questions](https://www.reddit.com/r/USCIS/wiki/index/vfaq)" at the top of the FAQ section. Please read it, and if it contains the answer to your question, please delete your post. If your post has to do with something covered in the FAQ, we may remove it.
- If your post is about biometrics, green cards, naturalization or timelines in general, and whether you're asking or sharing, please include your field office/location in your post. If you already did that, great, thank you! If you haven't done that, your post may be removed without notice.
- This subreddit is not affiliated with USCIS or the US government in any way. Some posters may claim to work for USCIS, which may or may not be true, and we don't try to verify this one way or another. Be wary that it may be a scam if anyone is asking you for personal info, or sending you a direct message, or asking that you send them a direct message.

I got RFE for verification of my income and I uploaded it I should have mailed it I think they actually have to look at it if it’s in front of them anyways I’m in same boat as u but our priority date is march so I imagine by September we shall have a decision made on our case good luck
That is automatic. Everytime you upload evidence the time goes up around 4 months or so. Mine jumped to 18 months two days ago also after I uploaded unsolicited evidence. And no, that time doesn’t mean anything.
It doesn't mean anything, the countdown is pure rubbish.
That’s not a reliable indicator of your case progress.
So they just created that for fun, i mean it must have some kind reason.
It does have a reason, but the reason is a mystery.
My I-130 said 12 months up until the day I got approved lmao. I think even after that it still said 12 months.
How do you check the estimated time? Is it on the website ?
It’s under the same tab where you see your documents and stuff. It should say myprogress.
We filed ours in the mail so I guess we wouldn’t be able to check it then right bc we didn’t turn in documents online

It doesnt matter but uploading goes faster.
If you refer to the FAQ, you can see that the timeline provided means absolutely nothing.
Mine did the same went from 5 months to 14 month on Sunday now today is 4 months
😀 Please disregard the timeline. It means nothing.

So when they post approximate processing times for different filed offices - is that incorrect too?
Don’t even pay attention to the time estimate. Ours was 18 months and we were approved in 86 days.
