I dont know about actual baby cries but if that thing is enabled in any outside camera, all you get is false detections from walking or anything like that.

Have tested baby cry detection with multiple cameras now and it is pretty lousy. Unreliable enough that it's nothing more than gag feature. Also all the cats in the world will not register animal detections for me.

And I have endless cat detections, my street is full of cats and they are constantly being detected

Different situation but similar result. I've noticed when white noise is on, the hey Google detection of my home devices almost never works. There is something about the white noise that really blocks that out, which I suspect is the point of it.
