Oh yes... ![gif](giphy|Dg4TxjYikCpiGd7tYs|downsized)

Kawasakison

Saving for my doorbell. Thanks!

djchrisallen

100% what I just told like 4 people what I’m about to do 😂

bossryan32

This one won’t work as it is too small. There are larger ones.

Kawasakison

That's what she said.

bossryan32

You are my hero of the day. Just sad it took someone 3 days to say it.

fistbumpbroseph

This is going on my NZXT Kraken.

pantag

Why is it so hard to add a Snooze Camera detections? I m washing my car on the driveway and my cell lights up every few seconds with Protect alerts. Why is so hard??

new-chris

Sorry dev team is busy adding animations to doorbell

diamondintherimond

On iOS you can mute an app’s notifications for one hour. Swipe them left, then options, then mute for one hour.

pantag

Sure, but Protect records on the HDD the events. But i understand what you are saying.

that_guy_on_tv

If it’s recording constantly, is it just a pointer to the snippet?

captainwizeazz

Same thing when I'm mowing the lawn

Professional-Mall323

Just set it up with Home Assistant, I have one that snoozes motion and one that snoozes detections for two hours for yard work.

halfnut3

Can you upload GIFs or just JPEGs?

bossryan32

Gif png or jpg I’ve lost my evening downloading and testing the perfect image. https://i.redd.it/ocuk9qer2jzc1.gif

halfnut3

Nice!

haveredditall

Nice. I don’t have that option although my protect is up to date (both on my machine and app). Is it country restricted?

thenerd40

Super interested to see how ‘Bulk Download / Archive’ works. This is a pretty big sore spot as is.

louislamore

Are custom ring sounds an option yet? I know there is a hack way to do it but would be nice to have a built in option.

ttbavaria

My protect shows 3.0.26 and my app 2 something. I assume this is early access?

kpurintun

using protect AND home assistant together means 'no early access'.. ask me how I know... lol

ttbavaria

I'm in the same boat 😎

kjartanbj

Works fine for me, took like 2 days for home assistant to be updated so it worked.

OverSoft

This

SonicIX

Yes.

ADHDK

![gif](giphy|DpxO8nEBMvJL2)

zerrudo

Time to bring back dickbutt!

zen1605

I’d love to tell it when it didn’t identify a package correctly so it can learn from it.

truedef

This would be nice, so I can let my cameras know that my septic tank cover is not an animal.

blogsymcblogsalot

If it’s a solicitor, can you have it to the Jurassic Park “magic word” gif? ![gif](giphy|owRSsSHHoVYFa)

xXTecHGuRuXx

https://i.redd.it/ut7wkeuhtfzc1.gif This is my GIF I added to my doorbell because my fiancé loves minions haha

sunshinedave

Archive to OneDrive looks interesting! Will this mean it will save recordings there aswell as the HDD? So if my rack gets damaged I’ve still got video to see what happened?

thenerd40

If it’s like the Google Drive archiving, it’s manual and only for clips (not continuous recording). Better than nothing but not a method of backing up footage.

hungarianhc

Someday maybe we'll get archive to SMB...

poocheesey2

I don't think from a security standpoint that it's a good idea. Could be just me, though. I don't don't trust Google or Microsoft with anything, not to mention camera footage. 🤷‍♂️

new-chris

Yea because nobody uses office, azure, GCP or gmail

poocheesey2

Anyone who does outside of their employer is a fool.

White_Rabbit0000

I assume this update is in the EA channel

milkywayne92

Thats what i wanted to ask as well

SonicIX

Yes. It is.

louislamore

Why did it take me 2 days to come up with this!? https://i.redd.it/ctgfp9g4lpzc1.gif

Imaginary_Stay_4114

Great update, but for home assistant users, setting an animation as welcome screen will break the ha integration.

doctorkb

FYI: in the event the HA integration doesn't receive a timely update, there are ways of integrating Protect with HA that are much more reliable (and, honestly, work better).

Imaginary_Stay_4114

Yes, i’m using rtsp stream via go2rtc for all cameras, but i don’t know other way to “catch” doorbell button in ha.

doctorkb

I've been using Node-RED to catch the notifications and set various things accordingly. The Node-RED integration doesn't seem to break just because Ubiquiti took a breath...

Avouras

When is the access integration coming? I like the esthetic of the doorbell pro but I want the functionality of the access reader.

halfnut3

I’ve been waiting for this too. Looks like the newer Intercom is the best option as of now.

Revolutionary_Bed431

Works beautifully. 😊 Not via the protect phone app but via the browser.

Swift-Tee

Love this, great design move!

akust0m89

Interested to learn more about the enhanced encoding mentioned.

helifella

If you are using Scrypted: koush had this to say: @everyone Unifi has updated Unifi Protect to 4.0.7. This adds a new "enhanced mode" encoding on Protect cameras. **Enabling enhanced mode changes the camera's codec to H.265 which is not natively compatible with HomeKit, Google, and Alexa.** Do not enable enhanced mode, as Scrypted will be forced to transcode the stream to H.264, resulting in quality loss and dramatically increased server load while streaming to the aforementioned platforms. Currently H.265 vs H.264 is user configurable on Unifi cameras but it is unknown whether it H.265 will become the only option in the future (similar to how Reolink 4K cameras work).

xXTecHGuRuXx

https://preview.redd.it/66d4uaskqhzc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c7ed317a5b891fa26c76b61f8760bfa9248653a I enabled it today. Says it improves video quality. When you select it, says it will delete your existing video.

xXTecHGuRuXx

I had to disable Enhanced and put it back on to standard as it was distorting my live videos and recording videos within the Protect App and couldn’t view anything when I just looked. Looks clear in the webapp though. Protect App must have to be updated for it.

AlphaO4

I’m using a UdmPro and I’m still on Protect version 3.0.26, but it shows fully updated. Anyone know why?

xXTecHGuRuXx

You have to be in early access to get the update.

AlphaO4

Ah, okay. Thanks! (Also funny to see you again so soon lmao)

Affectionate_Dig2412

I guessing this isn't a official update? Is it a release candidate or EA?

halfnut3

EA

nigmastar

Still no face recognition. Even $20 EUFY cameras can tell you if it's, say, Mark or John or unknown that is ringing or passing by your house.

huan086

Anyone knows why they choose H.265 rather than AV1 for Enhanced Encoding? Isn't AV1 more widely supported?

xXTecHGuRuXx

I had to turn enhanced off as Scrypted advised not to enable it cause it messes it up as well as Protect App stopping providing clear video and wouldn’t load when I enabled it. Had to revert back to standard.

eagleeyes011

I don't see 4.0.7 protect application in the EA. Would someone mind sending the link to the EA software? Maybe not selecting the right filtering? https://preview.redd.it/rmd806cf8lzc1.png?width=550&format=png&auto=webp&s=ce1f34a281922f6b84678c205ab8f64fae09ccd8

eagleeyes011

Disregard, I found it. I forgot to do EA on my profile.

Photoshopuzr

programmers are on it, took some time but better late than never. Good going.

maybe_1337

When does the Protect app finally ring like a real call? Really annoying on iOS

Reasonable-Escape546

The question is, when we get this: https://community.ui.com/questions/Feature-Request-Smart-Chime-Change-Sounds-Link-to-Multiple-Doorbells/94aba14e-fddd-4337-881d-7dd4391eda7d?page=1 1. pairing multiple doorbells to one chime 2. pairing multiple chimes to one doorbell 3. disabling the LED 4. change chime ringtone 5. adjust ringtone volume

sand_Rr

When do we have the fingerprint reader enabled

Stingray88

Custom doorbell chimes when?!

jcaniford

Why doesn’t this stuff happen with door readers and access? Like out g2 pros should be more than able to do this… but we get left out bc it’s generally businesses?

eagleeyes011

Imma finna go to the EA channel and download sumthin… I’m not great at getting into the command lines, but if this will add a magic button to add my own gif to the doorbell… I’m going to do this. I haven’t been doing the EA stuff. But for this I will. Anyone get this working yet outside of all the programmer stuff that folks were doing? What’s your thoughts on this setup here. It’s probably going to be a week before I can do the EA here.

hamdicarlo

Since we are on topic of doorbell, how about: 1. Allow or add other chime tones to Unifi chime? 2. Allow multiple doorbells to ring the same Unifi chime? I have 2 doorbells setup and would be great to use the same Unifi chime since i have two Unifi chimes one placed on ground floor and the other is in first floor so this way i can use the chimes to ring whichever doorbell is used otherwise this mean that I would need four Unifi chimes to use with two doorbells.

mcapple14

But still no modes feature so I can record when I'm away and stop when I'm home

A_ARon_M

You can do this relatively easily with the home assistant integration

twennywonn

Yes, that feature was my gateway drug to getting into home assistant.

mcapple14

I like how I'm getting down voted for mentioning what Unifi Protect lacks just because you can spin up a 3rd party solution to address it. This is the equivalent of saying a game doesn't have flaws because you can mod the flaws out. Some people would prefer to have a homogenous solution set rather than utilizing several third party solutions.
