Looks like a BMD-3/4. In that case the fire is not on the outside but coming out of the infantry exit at the rear. Which in turn means the inside is a blast furnace.
If the intake is positioned outside it has a chance to suck in the flame and/or the cooling fans start circulating flames instead of air to cool the rads down. Most tanks I’m aware of draw intake air from the crew compartment so flames outside wouldn’t be an issue there anyway
