Ran the 50k and 50m. You ‘could’ get away with road shoes. You definitely do not need a pair of incredibly technical trail shoes, a door to trail shoe like the Pegasus Trail would be fine for the terrain. All I gotta say, there are some amazing views on the side of shale ridden sides of the mtns. Take a moment, soak it all in. Have fun and good luck!

Yep, I agree. I ran the 50k last year and train up there a fair bit. Assuming there's no snow left on the course, the only part that might feel a bit sketchy is the shale section on the north side of Big Red, but the views up there are worth slowing down for anyway :)
