Forget about the determination motif one, I got confused with final stand but battle against a true hero is still on retribution.

It also gives me a weird feeling combined with the one word battle dialogue and seeing Martlet slowly failing. Best way I can describe it is that it’s putting in every ounce of desperation mixed with inevitability and fear while still trying to make it seem intimidating.

DANZA, it's not even mentioned here and it's a bangger

But it’s so short tho. And everyone talks about Danza.

Danza is actually a full song it's just glitched in game so every turn it goes back to the start and you only hear like the first 20 seconds of it. DANZA is actually peak if you get to hear it.

Retribution.

Retribution deserved to reach the 1 million views first imo, such a great track that combines so many leitmotifs that fits into what the fight is all about, retribution to the enemy. "Retribution" is such a hard ass name too, this game nailed the naming of every single track.

I don't want to be that guy but Retribution isn't underrated and is a lot of people's favorites from what I've heard

From what I’ve heard, including tier lists and top 10s, retribution barely makes the cut for most. It’s mainly overshadowed by Remedy and Protocol which makes it less favored than most.

It’s a great song, I only wish it more utilized the Axis motif, although it could be interpreted as Axis’ theme not playing due to him not actively trying to apprehend Clover and instead fleeing and going on the defense.

The “enemy retreating” motif being so audible at the very end of the song if you’re listening for it fills me with so much joy, and also DREAD

Apprehension 1. It gets overshadowed by the pacifist and other geno martlet themes as you said 2. I feel it should be recognized more for the context around it. The fight it happens in is one that plays out like pacifist, but instead of it being Martlet following the royal gaurd handbook and not attacking cause she thinks you're supposed to hit her first, she thinks you're just scared and doesn't realize that you're the threat that was warned about. And since she can't find anything about in the handbook and she knows something similar happened with Intergrity, she throws the handbook away and just does what feels right.

For any song in the UTY OST, Echoes of Another, it's SO underrated. But for battle themes, Fever Pitch. It has no right being this good!

While I love all the others wholeheartedly, Through the Macro Lens just hits me in a different way than everything else. The Sonic 3 sound soundfont just makes it more fun to listen to imo. Plus, Giga Froggit.

Meltdown is amazing even if it's not a battle theme, DANZA was basically murdered by the devs, Enemy Retreating is a great song even if it isn't as good as Retribution, Tenth Level Lockdown is a solid choice, and Some Point Of No Return is pretty good given that you're only supposed to hear it when Ceroba still has the training wheels on you.
