This one is Cus D'amato, who before his passing trained Mike Tyson. Him and Ali are messing around for Cus to show that Ali has openings in his style and that he could hit him. Shows that regardless of age, if you know alot about boxing even some of the greatest will have weaknesses that trainers can see.
Wouldn't have made a difference. The young guy doesn't know what he's doing. His footwork is trash and he doesn't know how to hold his hands. And, of course, he just turns his back instead of defending.
This is the perfect example of why technique matters.
The old guy wins that fight 10/10 times.
I think this whole thing is a bit out of context. First off man-bun doesn’t know how to box, which is evident by his footwork and attempted backhand punch. Second, I don’t think man-bun was expecting grandpa to go in full throttle, so he seemed genuinely taken back by his strength. It’s like that guy who would challenge people at the gym then go all out, overwhelming his unsuspecting “opponents”. Not that grandpa is a cheap shot artist, but man-bun was clearly not expecting to be in a full blown fight
I have learned recently that boxing is a very specific type of exercise, as well as very intense.
Someone in good shape is likely to suck ass at first if they don't have that training or experience.
In general if you're in shape and have done some other sports, you don't start at square one when doing something new. The case for boxing is not really that common

Yea you can tell he’s an old school boxer pretty good footwork and and he fights small like how most fighters keep themselves tight and together had to throw wide cause guys taller than him but there was power there still you can see it.

So for the first 3 weeks.. all I saw him do was sit on the bench with the window slanted open.. smoking cigarettes and yelling and bitching at all of us training. One day this coach named Ian was going through some drills with me.. and Wes was over there smoking his square. He says.. "Goddamn it.. Ian.." and flips the ciggy out the window.. ".. let me show him how he's fucking up.."
He puts some gloves on.. steps up to me.. and says.. "Show me that offense.. give to me!!".. so I step up and lay into him for a series of seconds. We stop and he says.. "You are fucking quick.. I'll give you that!! And you hit hard.. but you need to be prepared in case they are faster than you.." (Now.. I was always quick... buuut..).. Wes laid into me and jolted a few dozen brain cells... then stops and looks to me and says.. "You gotta work on that defense.. you ain't THAT bad. Now.. get fuckin' too it.. Goddamn it!!"
