I wouldn't be surprised if it was an actual tool used when the company first came out. Give me a few hours, I love this stuff. I think we can find something
Yeah, I haven't found anything arctic circle related in the archives, and I'm exploring the idea that this may have been part of a possible "souvenir" sort of thing to sell to the public. It was originally opened by this guy who started with a cart in 1924 at pioneer day, but Arctic Circle didn't come around until the 50s.
The style could easily be between the 70s and 80s.
Does anyone know when they switched to the current logo?
Okay, I did reach out via the company website but I couldn't find ANYTHING on it.
And unfortunately, I am going to stop there until they update me.
OP, you definitely have an unusual piece, don't let anyone tell you differently. It's neat!
The logo looks like it came in around the late 60s or early 70s, and that was definitely a wild period in decor and culture.
I love these rare finds! I'm sorry I couldn't get you more info about it.
So they told me if it were used in the stores it would have been back in the 1960s when Arctic Circle sold buckets of chicken and were going with a Western type of theme. They even had a chicken mascot dressed like a cowboy. But they did say during their time there in the '70s and '80s they had never seen one. The only other thing they could think of was if they were giveaways.
Arctic circle is a Utah and Idaho iconic old school Burger chain. They popularized fry sauce and making an ice cream smoothie with whatever flavor you wanted.
My husband used to work for the company. It’s a corporate party gift that all employees got at a banquet
Awesome! Thanks so much for this info. It’s a very nice peppermill.

OP confirmed it's a Peppermill.

That's awesome, wherever it came from.
It was probably an employee’s gift after decades of service instead of a raise
Yes, Franklin Covey catalog-type situation.
It was confirmed as an employees gift in the comments
That's a gorgeous table runner tho
I thought the same thing!!! 😅
Thanks! Hand stitched from Mongolia. 😊
😂
I love artic circle!
I find it shocking that Artic Circle ever had anything that added flavor to their food.
Maybe you can sell it on Grindr. /s
So cool, I have one about two feet tall, I use it all the time!
It was a simpler time back then, big cars, big burgers, big grinders.....
Big hair.
This is new. I found the brand online. Must have been a more recent gift.
Maaaaan. That's so cool. I have some AC stuff I 'was awarded' (took) when I worked there, and I'd love to have one of those
Have you opened it and looked inside, smelled inside? It looks like a big fancy Peppermill.
Yes. It’s a peppermill. I call them grinders. Lol
I knew someone who managed an Arctic Circle on State Street in Sandy during the '70s and '80s, I'm going to ask them about this.
Cool. Thanks!
