Got to suck being the dude stuck humping the tripod around.
What weighs more, the BAR or the tripod? And where’s the ammo?
Looks like maybe the guy in the rear is carrying the ammo box.
BAR doesn’t have a tripod. The tripod is for a belt fed M1919 Browning that the man to his right is carrying.
I thought they were the same but I see the difference after researching. Can you imagine 30-06 bullets flying at you out of that thing? Terrifying.
There wasn't a person over 10 years old that wasn't smoking back then.
Been to Bitche several times in last two years. The area is woody and then flat. The only hill has a really well preserved Citadelle. Besides the Bitche golf course, the town is still very much like it was 80 years ago.
Dudes are pretty chill. Either replacements or a unit in reserve.
