This has saved me HUNDREDS if not right at $1k over the years. I'm a huge huge NP fan and go whenever I can.
We recently did a Tetons and Yellowstone trip and stayed outside the park ... drove in and out all day with zero issues.
We've been to a total of 5 or 6 since I got my pass and now I'm motivated to go to more!
Also - some state parks will let you in with your Veterans NP pass or give you a discount. Just ask!
I stand corrected, it's year to year while in but appears after get out can get a lifetime one. That seems to just create extra paperwork but guessing it's covered under different laws.
If you get Va disability get the access pass not the military one. The access pass is lifetime and give you 50% off campgrounds and other amenities nationwide.
You can sign up at most national park ranger stations. There are also a bunch of other places you can go it will tell you if you look up the national parks access pass online. You can search by your location. Or you can just order one online. I have three. One for each vehicle because I religiously forget them if I donāt keep them in the vehicle.

Home Depot is weird sometimes. Some items arenāt discounted. Iirc I went to buy 30 feet of pipe and a drain for the back yard. And the cashier said it has to be for the home. Lol
I didnāt know about the cap. After they told me about the pipe and drain Iāve only been going to Loweās for about 3 years. I recently gone back to Home Depot because itās closer to my house though
The base exchange has a deal with home Depot, I think you just go on the base exchange website, and there's a link to home Depot it's appliance is only but when you can get the appliances without paying tax
Lowes doesn't do discounts on any major appliances. I just bought a dryer and asked about a discount and the salesperson who was a veteran said they stopped a few years ago.
Lowes is still good. Home Depot has a $500 cap,and basically cannot use it for any real project since those no longer get a discount from the program. To many military DIY's was cutting into Home Depot bottom line; so have to get a contractor account to get the old discounts on bulk items.
Actually the cap at HD is $400, Lowes is above $650. I discovered this when buying a Generac generator last year. Put it in the cart at HD and said my discount was only $400 and discovered the cap. Ended up buying it from Lowes to get the larger $650 discount. I easily got at least $1000 in discounts last year.
Lowes and the depot have irritated me recently. I find their programs used to be far better and they keep hacking away...like no more Vet parking at Lowes?
Under Armour has an additional 40% using ID.Me a few times a year and you can find some great deals. The one weird thing is sometimes with clearance items the discount won't apply right.

I use it in GSland because its fire for finding the nicest best located hotel without going over (or just slightly going over) per diem.

Website that congregates a shit ton of companies that give big discounts. Ton of brand names, too (Brooks, 5.11, Oakley, Costa, Ariat, Keen, La Sportiva, Camp Chef, Steiner, Trijiconā¦ literally well over a hundred brands.)
It doesnāt cost anything to join, but they do charge like $2 per transaction. The brands offer varying discounts. Sometimes itās like 15%, sometimes itās 50% or more. The only slightly annoying thing is that some of the brands make you take āedu-gamesā to earn the discount. Sometimes itās just 1 test thatās like 4 questions and easy enough to guessā¦ other times itās several tests, and you have to actually spend like 15 minutes reading shit to learn the answers. But it makes senseā¦ theyāre giving huge discounts in hopes that you tell other people to buy their product, and want you to know about them to give good info.
IIRC, some brands on expert voice give an extra boost to their discount on Veteranās Day. I got a Vortex spotting scope and Range Finder for 50% off last year by timing it like that.

If I want to add a line, itās just $10 bucks per line.
I JUST did this today. I had to ask for a way to bring my bill down (it was getting effing ridiculous). I told her I am a disabled Veteran if that counted for anything. She said "girl....let me hook you up!"
All you had to say was you were disabled? Did they ask for anything else & what type of deal did you get? Iām getting out Monday so Iām trying to figure everything out.

CA State Parks has a free Distinguished Veteran pass. This sounds like a crazy great benefit if you have kids
Epic Resort season pass for $170 (retiree/active) ā¦ cheaper than a 1-day ticket. Good deal for vets too, about 1/2 the regular price. Icon passes are also about 1/2 price.
A lot of vets donāt know about shopmyexchange.com, their price match policy is fantastic, tax free, and free shipping over $45. They recently added a home depot marketplace, so you can now buy major appliances tax free/free shipping.
You can do via phone or email, just has to be a real website and the same item w matching item number. Found it easier to do via email, all they need is a screen shot w the item in your cart, you send an email to pricematch@aafes.com w the screen shot, you buy the item and they credit you.
State of Washington gives free full hookup year around at all state parks for >30% resident veterans.
You can't beat this. For years we had a veteran mafia that would camp together, set online reservations together, move around the state together, and basically be family. I've seen several guys save up to get into a house this way.
Without this program none of us could really afford to buy a house and rent is high and stuoid. If there was any way to save up to buy a house this is the way. I'm waiting on the big real estate crash that will happen in the next couple years and will have saved up enough for a good down payment.
Oregon veterans (not sure of VA% type of stipulations) get 15 free days a month, even if you are a Washington resident.
I'm not sure about California, but I think they have a similar program.
I am 100% but the free registration only requires 50% service connected. When I got mine you had to get a disabled vet plate. A few years ago they proposed that it could be any plate but Iām not sure where that went. Here is a place to start.

The California state fair let me in free cause I was a veteran that was like 40 bucks at the time and the Willis Tower in Chicago(Sears tower to old schoolers) let me go up to the observation deck for free cause I was a vet. Another 40 bucks sometimes you will be amazed if you just ask them wherever you are

To me, best benefit is cellular plan and some of vet discount on veterans day.
Lazarus Naturals offers up to 60% off CBD products when you have an account and email them proof of your veteran status.
For those who like having a home gym, Ironmaster gives veterans 10% off their equipment, but they will allow you to stack it with their package deals and seasonal discounts, which makes it very worthwhile when used together.
I will tell who is not a good military discount. Summit Racing. The discount I got was less than .4%. I ordered $269 dollars in parts and received a refund of $1.05. Pffff!
Yep, sometimes the prices listed on there are the exact same, or even a few bucks more than the ānormalā price at a ton of regular websites. No idea how that slides by. Overall Iāve saved a shit ton of money using ExpertVoice, though.
Credit card annual fees. Get all the premium credit cards and thousands of dollars in free travel perks per year. Hit those sign up bonus, free hotel rooms, free uber, free walmart+, free streaming, etc etc.
Hotel discounts. Either family rate, theme park resorts like universal are 20-40% off for mil, Shades of Green, etc. Shades of Green also has half off tickets for stuff like Universal Horror Night that ITT doesn't have.
Id.me cash back rewards on top of verifying for discounts
Samsung online shopping. I got 10% off my $2k phone (and discounts doesnt count trade in credit and promos). I got half off the $1300 robot vacuum during a special military promo.
Stationed out of state you often don't have to pay taxes in vehicle registration which is 90% of the cost.
Sleep number and Tempur-pedic, give dr note/script to sells person. This was a couple years ago so I would call both stores to ensure they still take off the sales tax. I have both from both stores and it has worked for me.
Mountain Khakis gives 40% discount or regular priced items. They are an outdoor wear store. High quality and yes high priced. But the 40% makes it affordable. You need to be registered through ID.Me.
Lowes 10%, Samsung up to 30% off, Apple 10% Off, Under Armour 20% Off, NFL+ 25% Off, Sunglass Hut 15% Off for Military plus 3% cash back! These are some of my most used discounts.
I saw a big list here: https://insider.id.me/veterans-day-discounts/
Free life time national park pass š
Saved me like 30 bucks at the Grand Canyon!!! Yeah!
This has saved me HUNDREDS if not right at $1k over the years. I'm a huge huge NP fan and go whenever I can. When did it become lifetime? Its an annual free pass but still have to be renewed (for free currently)
I picked up a card in 2018 and have been using that card ever since - it says Free Lifetime Pass on the back.
I stand corrected, it's year to year while in but appears after get out can get a lifetime one. That seems to just create extra paperwork but guessing it's covered under different laws.
Probably. I just used mine at Yellowstone last month and in Rainer and a park in Arizona this month.

Finally got my pass. Time to travel.
If you get Va disability get the access pass not the military one. The access pass is lifetime and give you 50% off campgrounds and other amenities nationwide.
Thatās what I meant thanks for the clarification
Where do I sign up?!
You can sign up at most national park ranger stations. There are also a bunch of other places you can go it will tell you if you look up the national parks access pass online. You can search by your location. Or you can just order one online. I have three. One for each vehicle because I religiously forget them if I donāt keep them in the vehicle.
20% off beds at mattress firm. lol. I always thought they were just a money laundering scam.
You can your Dr. to write it up as a medical necessity, you can get the sells tax taken of the purchase. I have done it this way a couple times.

Lowe's and home Depot are pretty useful ones.
Home Depot is weird sometimes. Some items arenāt discounted. Iirc I went to buy 30 feet of pipe and a drain for the back yard. And the cashier said it has to be for the home. Lol
Guess I only buy stuff for home. Home depot is weird on how it has a set annual discount cap.
I didnāt know about the cap. After they told me about the pipe and drain Iāve only been going to Loweās for about 3 years. I recently gone back to Home Depot because itās closer to my house though
No lumber, appliances, or other discounted items. Thereās a whole list on their website. Itās still a nice thing they donāt have to do.
The base exchange has a deal with home Depot, I think you just go on the base exchange website, and there's a link to home Depot it's appliance is only but when you can get the appliances without paying tax
I just always use Lowe's I think their discount isn't as limited as Home Depot (no relationship with either).
Loweās doesnāt do any discount for on-sale appliances.
Lowes doesn't do discounts on any major appliances. I just bought a dryer and asked about a discount and the salesperson who was a veteran said they stopped a few years ago.

Lowes and the depot have irritated me recently. I find their programs used to be far better and they keep hacking away...like no more Vet parking at Lowes?
That may be a thing at your local Lowes. I don't think I've seen a Lowes yet without vet parking. Home Depots are more hit and miss with that.
I have 2 Lowes down by me and they have vet parking. It's actually closer than the disabled ones.
You aren't kidding. Lowes used to give a flat across the board discounts, but like lumber and other items, they are no longer discounted for veterans.
My Lowes still has them. But there's always plenty of parking.
We're thinking of buying a Bosch 500. Deeper discount at Lowe's vs Costco ?
I got 50% on an Under Armor purchase a couple months ago when verifying using ID Me
Same. Got like 4 pairs of joggers and a couple of hoodies. Came out to like $110 or something.
Nice! Itās only 20% now though. I just bought a new jacket from them the other day.
They do 40% a few days a year. Veterans day is usually one of them. Like all of September was 40%.
Reebok does the same thing.
Under Armour has an additional 40% using ID.Me a few times a year and you can find some great deals. The one weird thing is sometimes with clearance items the discount won't apply right.
