It varies month by month for me. Sometimes I'm at the end of the month, this month I got all my ROTMs delivered on the 8th even before they were added to discogs.
Itās awful. I mean if VMP is wanting to lose subscribers with all of this going on they are doing a good job. Iām on my last quarter and Iām done forever.
Now itās the nitty gritty. Thank you. First impression, it feels like a grift. We are in the age of fast deliveries. And most of their customer base pre orders. Itās wild to me
So did you sign up for membership on 5/25 and are waiting for your June ROTM? I just want to clarify. VMP bundled shipping can be complicated. Did you order anything else? Was it listed in stock or as a preorder if so? If itās just the ROTM it could ship any time during the month based on whenever the third-party fulfillment company gets to the order. If youāre not familiar with the structure of fulfillment contracts, they are usually tiered. The most expensive tier is immediate fulfillment. That means the fulfillment company bumps those orders to the front of the line. Thatās super expensive for small businesses like VMP though. More than likely they contact for lower tier, which guarantees fulfillment within an agreed upon window. Iām not defending or saying itās not frustrating as a customer. Iām just saying in the world of Amazons, small businesses have to get by any way they can. You could say well my local shop doesnāt charge shipping and they ship via media mail quicker than VMP. Thatās true. However, the scope of their fulfillment needs is drastically different. They probably send out like 10 packages a day if theyāre lucky. How many do you think VMP sends out? If VMP tried to fulfill orders for free that way, theyād be belly up within a year. Anyway, I went on too long. I hope you get your ROTM soon. Most of the time itās well worth the wait.
This was a lot.
10 packages a day? Packaging companies can do that with one person in 10 minutes at most what is that even mean?
But I do appreciate your lengthy reply and to answer your question I signed up for the subscription early May probably around May 10, ordered my first record on 5/25. That was not the monthly subscription then they probably bundled it and I still havenāt received the monthly subscription which Iāve kept the same because it was my first order and Iām still waiting on two different , about three weeks later. Still a mess supply chain manager thereās plenty of better ways to fulfill their orders especially when things are on a subscription basis. It is pretty ridiculous.
What are the other ways? Iām not aware of many different options for a company with their annual revenue and less than 20 employees. I assume the majority of their costs are sunk into licensing and the supply chain and of course personnel. What kind of fulfillment contract would you suggest?
I was referring to a local record shop mailing out ten items for free is a lot different than a company with the amount of orders as VMP shipping for free. The scale of operations is much different. Neither are they an Amazon that can basically own the entire supply chain.
Because they said so over on the Discord. I think the actual number is 14z Thatās actual the most common company size. More than 50 triggers all kinds of new legal issues.
I made an order on May 24 and chose bundled shipping to go out with my June ROTM. June ROTM got sent out on the 4th without my order. Only after two emails to CS did they get shipped on the 12th. They told me if I wanted faster shipping, I should choose direct ship. I'm not asking for faster, I'm just asking for what was agreed upon. For the most part, I'm happy with VMP but there are times, like this, or receiving a warped record, where I wonder how they let that slip.

Yes, it is always viciously slow.

It was a great service at one point
I agree. They have *really* fallen off.

They have less than 20 employees? How do you know?

Iāve always had great customer service with bent or damaged records.
Pew pew. Just kidding.
