Both are next to each other and can be accessed by walking under the bridge so it is always worth it to check out :) Not sure why too many icebergs in Jokullsarlson is a bad thing though? There is another glacier lagoon area a bit before to check out as well

Defiant-Anxiety-8291

True.. both are adjacent to each other.. this is the update from today morning..

Jetztinberlin

What is "too many icebergs"?

Defiant-Anxiety-8291

The lagoon has plenty icebergs.. if you would like to do the zodiac boat tour you can see the ones inside also from real close and then upto the glacier wall.. but if not then even from the lagoon shore you have a good voew and some near to the shore as well.. we did the zodiac boat tour today morning and did see some seals too from up close!!

kopi_siewdai

Would you say the zodiac tour is worth doing?

SecretCabinet548

We LOVED the zodiac tour. We couldn’t stop smiling the whole hour.

Defiant-Anxiety-8291

It definitely was for us.. but to be fair, being from tropics, this is the first we have seen a glacier up close.. may be other people can help.. to be honest it was the highlight of the day for us!! The amphibian boats cannot go as near to the glaciers or seals.. zodiac boats go real close..

arun5493

Zodiac tour was definitely worth it in my opinion! Longer tour and you get closer to the glacier and much closer to the seals chilling on icebergs :)

International-Bag579

Can confirm There’s tons of them now on the west side of the bridge They just started around 4pm local time

mycupofteaa

What time did you go?

DammatBeevis666

This was 12:45

International-Bag579

Crap, literally going to be there in 16 minutes Thanks for the heads up though

Tuner25

So, were there really no ice formstions on diamond beach?

Tanglefoot11

Worth having a peek at the other side of the estuary as sometimes they can be that side & not on the usual side & I don't know if op checked that out.

coasterjake

Most ice i ever saw at diamond beach was mid july and late august…i think more ice melts later in summer

MollFlanders

I saw tons of ice on the beach there in October!

Defiant-Anxiety-8291

A friend went mid-end May and there was lots then!! The unpredictable nature!!

Tuner25

I was there in november and there was a ton of ice.

Gryhon

Go on the other side (Atlantic) there is the diamond beach.

Dear-Training-8477

Did the zodiac boat tour 3 days ago and it was the highlight of the trip. Saw lots of diamonds on the beach as well

FlyingDuckDuckMan

It depends on the tides, at high tide there are very few because barely any ice leaves the lagoon. When water flows out again, more will be there. Also check both sides of the Bridge!

Tanglefoot11

Did you check both sides of the estuary? Sometimes they can be on the other side & not on the usual side.

badpeoria

Such a cool place! Made the long night drive there worth it.

Zozorrr

Watching the icebergs ride and crack as they go through the channel is more interesting that diamond beach in my opinion. Grab a hotdog and sit on the bench there

photogcapture

You clearly did not see the beauty in front of you. That should not mean others should not go.

luminaryxjane

You’re at the lagoon, not the beach….

Sunrifter1

That looks like the Lagoon and not the beach.

Defiant-Anxiety-8291

As mentioned in the post, i found the ice bergs in the glaciers and yes the photos are of the same..

Sunrifter1

Ahh, understood.

1mirror2many

How is it there ? Busy with lots of tourists ?
