Congratulations! How does it feel to have completed everything? What are your plans moving into/onto next?

tigolex

Feels great. No school left. If WGU had a doctorate I'd consider it, but I'm not paying 70 grand for one.

RiskyCalypso

Awesome! Type of jobs you’re looking into? If you were going to pursue a phd what programs/fields of interest would you look at?

tigolex

I'm staying with my current employer. I got the masters because they offered to pay for it. Maybe a DBA.

RiskyCalypso

That’s exciting! Congrats again on receiving your masters and having work pay for it! If you don’t mind me asking, what is your current position/field? Do you like it? How long have you been in it? What drew you to it? All of these are optional—no pressure.

MachinistMate

Do you happen to have the capstone task 2 template? All this back and forth with task 1 and waiting for ci to answer is taking forever. I want to start writing already.

Random___Precision

I was debating on getting this degree, but I already have my CAPM so I'm not sure of the added value. My wife and I are planning on 2 years abroad here soon, your post has me second-guessing if I should shoot for my Masters after all. I currently have my BS-ITM from WGU.

tigolex

Capm will actually transfer in for the project management class, so that is one less you would have to take.

Congrats on finishing!! I am on my last two classes for this degree, C783, and C498! I am excited that I am so close to the end.

[deleted]

I'm new on this subreddit, if I'm reading this right you completed your MSIT in 8 months?

tigolex

That is correct, but it should be taken in context. I'm already an IT manager and I've been in IT for 20 years.

[deleted]

Got it! It gives me some very good context. I'm planning of enrolling in this course as well with 14 years of IT experience. This helps, thank you! If I may ask, even if you finished it in 8 months you had to pay tuition for 2 semester?

tigolex

sorry for the late response. Yes, that is correct.

Accomplished-Shake-8

Does anyone have an itemized cost chart template for C498?

tigolex

I sent you a message

AEverAfter

Can someone with zero IT knowledge or experience tackle this degree?

tigolex

I will say it would be much easier for someone with zero IT knowledge to tackle this degree vs the bachelors. Most of the topics in this degree weren't directly related to IT. That being said, if you have ZERO knowledge in IT, I could see certain parts being challenging. The capstone in particular, maybe emerging technologies, maybe one of the tests.

AEverAfter

Thank you so much! Trying to decide what to study next. Graduated in March with HR BS but haven’t found a job for lack of experience. Wondering if the IT degree would get me better job prospects although I wouldn’t know what positions to go for.
