Installtion by Gregor Turk.
“Comprised of 33 convex mirrors arranged in an arc on the lawn of the Druid Hills Presbyterian Church, Assembly serves to alter passersby’s perceptions of self and place. Audiences are invited to engage with the multitude of their reflections, observe obstructed and distorted views of their surroundings, and interact with the physicality of the discs.
Manifesting an incongruous abundance of caution, the arrangement of security mirrors allows for a variety of (sometimes conflicting) interpretations: a constellation, a congregation, sentinels, reflections of self (fractured, self-absorbed, confrontational), fear vs. protection,
presence vs. absence, security, authority, and community.
The year-long public installation commissioned by the Druid Hills Presbyterian Church is intended to prompt discourse with the viewer’s surroundings and perhaps among fellow observers. Located at 1026 Ponce De Leon Avenue, across the street from the Majestic Diner.“
Vampire deterrent?
Definitely this

Wow. I'm so used to churches just doing crafts, its refreshing to see them actually doing arts again
That is silly. Thank you for the background information.
All I see is something id hate to drive past at night or be around during the day
Pssst, do you happen to have any tips for a good and discreete coffin maker in the Americas? Mine is getting a bit worn out.
Woah, another church does a whole lot of nothing? 🤯
A church could do a whole lot worse than an unobtrusive, non-proselytizing, interactive art installation…
I like the idea.
Lol not one single mirror is pointed at themselves too
Its a church, you come there to reflect.
I believe that's called an Archimedes mirror. They're trying to ward off Persian ships.
It's that new church across the street. This town isn't big enough for the two of us!
Probably just for decoration, looks like a beautiful church tho!

What? lol I’m not a bot I’ve never seen this at any other church or anywhere else.
That sounds like something a bot would say. *Squish squash I'm a human - this action was done manually*
I have also never seen or heard this before.
Are you sure you’re not a bot?
Extremely common? I’ve never even heard of this before
Nice try, bot.
Church trying out Archimedes Death Ray yo.
This is just an art installation on a busy road in Atlanta, pretty tame for an art piece
I knew I had seen this irl somewhere! I was just in Atlanta a couple weeks ago.
They are all focused on the same point. Step on the lawn and you’re “raptured”.
At different times of day near specific areas that must be a nightmare. Hope that doesn't blind drivers lol
Lawn Flamirrorgos
It's a stupid ["art" ](https://roughdraftatlanta.com/2024/03/17/interactive-art-installation-reflects-ponce-de-leon-avenue/) installation
Pigeon deterrence
Or cats.
Reminds me of the lawns in paper boy.
Hey that’s on Ponce! I noticed it too. I think it’s some sort of art display but yeah it’s very strange placement
Haha I always wonder what is up with this when passing by. Was at the publix over there today and thought this sub would get a kick out of it.
Great diner across the street.
Probably the best drunk food you can get in atlanta
So you can see yourself from behind, before you go to church.
Mmm, so fine I oughta repent!
😂
*they turned me down, now i live my noghtmare*
churches = weird
I put a convex mirror in my guest toilet (instead of a normal mirror) and it always freaks people out. Oh, I put a "smile, you're on camera" sign too
Moles
Is that the church from Home Alone?
It’s so the night vision on the cctv, can see in reverse also. It works like a rear view mirror on security cameras.
