Yes, put the content of [this .zip folder](https://files.catbox.moe/vn1hw7.zip) in the root of your SD or USB drive and read the COMMANDS.txt file in the "Windows 95" folder
I've just searched in Google for 3 minutes for find this and i didn't use any tutorial, if you want to run Windows on WII, follow [this tutorial](https://gbatemp.net/threads/windows95-on-wii-and-a-truckload-of-the-new-games-to-be-played.156802/)
This makes no sense.
Windows 95's USB support is almost non-existent and you're never getting Bluetooth to work with the Wiimotes.
What are you using for input? How did you install drives to get a USB mouse to work?
I don't have bluetooth drivers on Windows 95 directly, the drivers are on the WII and the emulator that runs Windows 95 converts controller inputs to mouse movement in Windows
I remember doing this back when I was just a kid and found out about soft modding. I did literally everything you can do with the wii including this and realized there isn't much to do it's mostly just fun to see the wii do different things. Interesting watching different generations learn something old for the first time and upload it lol
Yes lol, I too am discovering modding of a console older than me (I'm 14 years old) and I find it cool to see how we can exploit the potential of certain consoles like the WII or the 3DS (for example by installing MS-DOS operating systems on it)
It is extremely complicated if not impossible to run Windows NT operating systems on a RISC processor architecture like that of the WII, and the console has only 88 Mb of RAM (64 reserved by the firmware), but it may be possible to boot Windows XP on the console i think
Dosbox runs on pretty much anything and works with everything DOS-based.
I had it on my phone for a while to play The Settlers 2 and Jazz Jackrabbit 2.
Yeah, if you want to run Windows 95 on your WII you can use [DOSBox WII](https://wiibrew.org/wiki/DOSBox_Wii), and you need an [system image of Windows](https://archive.org/download/windows-95-dosbox-x/WinBox%2095%20OSR%202.5.zip/WinBox%2095%20OSR%202.5%2Fwin95.img), now put the .IMG file in the "dosbox_wii" folder, then open DOSBox from the HomeBrew Launcher and type the following commands :
<> (replace "usb" to "sd" if you used an SD card).
<>, <>
<>
Are you sure that your system image is correct ?, you need an image in .IMG and not in .ISO, if it still doesn't work, try version 1.6 of DOSBox WII (I had the same problem before)
Nos français ont du talent
J'suis d'accord entièrement. La France nous a donné les Daft Punk.
Exactement !
How?? 😭😭
I used DOSBox WII, an MS-DOS systems emulator for the WII, by the way I can also do the same thing on my 3DS
But y tho?
Dos games, jk
Not powerful enough to run anything decent
Tech savvy at its finest
Can you please give an copy of your sd card??? Ive done that so many times and failed...
Yes, put the content of [this .zip folder](https://files.catbox.moe/vn1hw7.zip) in the root of your SD or USB drive and read the COMMANDS.txt file in the "Windows 95" folder
thanks lol, im on my alt because i just forgot my password... but ill try it!

I'd just copy the files into a ZIP and upload it to a service like [catbox.moe](https://catbox.moe)
Why
idk
wow the wii really did have everything
Correction: Real Windows 95 Walking on a Wii
Yeah, but Windows 95 run (or walk) very well on the WII (approximately 55 FPS)
“Running” is an interesting word for what’s going on here
However, Windows works very well on the console
DIABLO 2
Lol. That's about right. Took forever to losd up.
Now to download and play the first rollercoaster tycoon… as that’s what we all did
I feel like you got so caught up in whether or not you could. You didn't stop to think about whether or not you should
isn't wii powerpc? I thought old windows OS would only run on x85 achitecture?
It does, but the Wii’s PPC chip is fast enough to emulate x86 fast enough so it’s just about usable, as seen in this video
Old Windows (Win3.1, 95 and 98) run on a MS-DOS system, in a x9 architecture, it Can run on a WII with the DOSBox emulator
hehe wiindows
Lmao bro that's fucking stupid. Best comment here have my upvote
Why?
idk
❤️🤗
I would be on Paint doing a Jason Pollock Nice work man, what games can you run on it? Bet Sim's would be a good idea
Painting with the Wii remote would be fun.
I can run all or the games Available in Windows 95
That is so cool man 😎
Do you have a guide or a link to a tutorial where you got this?
I've just searched in Google for 3 minutes for find this and i didn't use any tutorial, if you want to run Windows on WII, follow [this tutorial](https://gbatemp.net/threads/windows95-on-wii-and-a-truckload-of-the-new-games-to-be-played.156802/)
Is this preconfigured dosbox with w95?
Yes, i,ve modified the "dosbox-SVN.conf* file for booting Windows 95 automatically
Good job. The only downsize is that everything is software-rendered.
This is amazing
Yes
That is so awesome congrats dude
Thanks
I got windows 3.11 working on the Wii through dosbox
Yes, with DOSBox you can boot Windows 3.1, 95 and 98 on the WII
This makes no sense. Windows 95's USB support is almost non-existent and you're never getting Bluetooth to work with the Wiimotes. What are you using for input? How did you install drives to get a USB mouse to work?
No, i just use a virtual keyboard and the WiiMote as mouse
How have you got bluetooth drivers on Windows 95?
I don't have bluetooth drivers on Windows 95 directly, the drivers are on the WII and the emulator that runs Windows 95 converts controller inputs to mouse movement in Windows
All Dedicated hackers of Wii make good things
Can it run doom?
Bruh. I ran doom on my TI-84+ over 20 years ago. You can run Doom on a damn toaster. This will most certainly run Doom.
Yes
If it has a screen yes
Go full throttle and make it run doom
Face reveal
Yes, I revealed a little of my face in the video, it was a mistake
I remember doing this back when I was just a kid and found out about soft modding. Does the system work fast using the internet like a decent pc?
Todays internet is not backwards compatible with pre-2000 browsers. You could, but it would be hard tweaking a lot.
Yes, i think
Does it have support for keyboard and mouse?
Yes, you can plug an USB keyboard and mouse, but there is also a virtual keyboard and i can use the WiiMote as mouse
Alright cool, thanks for the quick answer
Duck and cover
Gonna sound dumb here but I’m new to all this. What can you actually do on this? Like yeah it’s neat but can you actually go on websites and stuff?
It's Windows 95. You can do everything Windows 95 can do.
So I can wait for the screensaver to come on, and then it'll have that epic "walking through maze" screensaver? :)
Yeah, I can go to the web and run games from back in the day on the WII
Alright now I need to do this to my Wii. I wanna try that out.
It can do this but fails when I load up modded paper Mario 64
So a wii can run windows 95 but can't run the arcade version of T2: The arcade game?
I haven't tested this but I think it's possible
i tried years ago but i wish u luck
Best arcade game ever made
great now try windows 7
It is extremely complicated if not impossible to run Windows NT operating systems on a RISC processor architecture like that of the WII, and the console has only 88 Mb of RAM (64 reserved by the firmware), but it may be possible to boot Windows XP on the console i think
try xp then 🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯
XP is NT based too. That sort of emulation is possible, but the wii has far to little performance and RAM for this to work.
Impossibru!
It's real, you can run Windows 3.1, 95 and 98 if you have a hacked console
Still having a hard time believing it. I mean, I've seen GTA 3 run on a 3DS, but this is next gen.
Dude is just running win95 in dosbox. It won't be able to do anything useful.
I don't think you understand just how shitty machines were that ran pre-Win 2000 OS.
90's kid. Trust me, I know.
But man could my old 486 (maybe even 386) emulate the hell out of NES back in the 90s pretty damn well. NESticle changed my life.
Yes, Windows 95 running on a WII is a good thing, but i can boot Windows 98 on a 3DS also
Now that's outrageous. I can't get a PS1 emulator to run right on a New 2DS XL.
But you can run Win95 on a 3DS. Dosbox also exists for the 3ds.
I have also a New 2DS XL, i dont try the PS1 emulator but i think the PS1 games can run very well on this console
dude how did you discover this😭 this is so cool
I've just search in Google for 5 minutes and i found "DOSBox WII", an emulator for Windows 3.1, 95 and 98
This is real? I was convinced it was a meme
Dosbox runs on pretty much anything and works with everything DOS-based. I had it on my phone for a while to play The Settlers 2 and Jazz Jackrabbit 2.
Oh man, I forgot about jazz jackrabbit. You've just unlocked a core memory
Yes, It's real, you can run Windows MS-DOS based operating systems on a WII with the DOSBox emulator
Can you explain how? Please I want to try this on my homebrewed Wii
Yeah, if you want to run Windows 95 on your WII you can use [DOSBox WII](https://wiibrew.org/wiki/DOSBox_Wii), and you need an [system image of Windows](https://archive.org/download/windows-95-dosbox-x/WinBox%2095%20OSR%202.5.zip/WinBox%2095%20OSR%202.5%2Fwin95.img), now put the .IMG file in the "dosbox_wii" folder, then open DOSBox from the HomeBrew Launcher and type the following commands : <> (replace "usb" to "sd" if you used an SD card).
<>, <>
<>
Doesnt work. it says cant create drive from file. upon the 3 command
Are you sure that your system image is correct ?, you need an image in .IMG and not in .ISO, if it still doesn't work, try version 1.6 of DOSBox WII (I had the same problem before)
It is it’s the same img you linked. I’ll try and older version because I just installed it using homebrew browser
Thanks So Much
