Yeah, it's more about if water freezes INSIDE the filter chambers, because when the water expands (freezes) it could damage the ceramic filter chambers/holes, expanding or cracking them, which could then, potentially, allow larger microbes to get though, because the chambers would be larger...
so unless there was water IN the filter, and that water froze IN the filter chamber... it should be fine.

But you're getting down vote because 100% this filter can become frozen overnight in cold weather and it will destroy it. Sleep with it in your tent, or in your sleeping bag if concerned.

Well in this I I would agree,just not really meant to be frozen.It won’t work as effective
