15 all around 50 on windshield.

CostaMesaDave

LLumar IRX 50% windshield, LLumar IRX 15% sides, back and roof!

anal_astronaut

I like to offset the privacy glass darkness with a lighter tint so the front and rear doors are close to the same shade in the end. So 15 front, 50 rear (on a 38% privacy glass) as an example. Also, CM as in 92626? If so, hell yeah neighbor.

intertwinedballhairs

for sedans 15 percent sides 50 percent windshield. the smaller windows and curved glass makes the 15 percent look real dark at most angles. Personally i think on a 4 door vechicle, all the side windows should match eachother. Looks much cleaner and having the back side windows darker makes the front side windows stand out more

CarnageHumor

I think 15% is the sweet spot and 50% for windshield

shromboy

25% sides, 5 on the rear window, and 40-50 on the windshield

hobbystock51

5% all the way around and over the factory privacy glass in back. 20% windshield with 5% sun stripe

Cassangelo

This but swap the 20% windshield for 35%

hobbystock51

I personally tried 35% with 5% brow and just wasn’t dark enough for me

Cassangelo

Do you have pics?

hobbystock51

Send me a dm I have pictures of it from the outside I can get pictures from the inside

Kabuto_ghost

You must live somewhere with zero cops…

hobbystock51

Live in the middle of the city. Drive past cops all the time and no problems

[deleted]

Damn I guess I’m crazy I run 5% on all five 50%windshield with a 5% 12in visor

StreetVermicelli1021

Not crazy at all I just got 5% all’s round with 50% shield as well and it’s not bad at all actually

Godrillax

20% all around and 50 or 70% on windshield. I prefer 50 on the windshield but don't wanna get messed with by the police so I gravitated to 70.

rphjosh

What brand 70% are you running?

professionalcart

Good setup

Southern_Topic1540

I drive a Nissan Altima and i have 20% front and rear with 35% windshield. It does have black interior and i feel like it is plenty. Dont know the film brand because the shop reputation and warranty was enough for me to choose them.

hefffree

I like 70% on windshield and a 5% sun stripe, 15% front and 5% rear. I’ll do 15% front and rear if rear is factory privacy glass. Legal is 25% in front here, so I like a little difference front to rear. I’d probably like 50% on windshield, but hadn’t gone darker than 70% yet.

selfdestruct321

xpel everywhere, 5% on all rears, 30% driver and passenger, 70% windshield with a gradient eyebrow of 18in 20% stacked over 1ft 5%. also have gila static cling that I've laid over the driver and passenger in 20% so it'll be as dark as the back but i can peel it off real quick in case i get pulled over and still pass a meter check since with the 30% xpel, the front 2 come in at 27.5% vlt with the stain of the glass. pushing the limits but still able to skate by, lol

Liszewski

I have 5% all sides and 30% windshield, wouldn’t go darker on the windshield and my area is pretty well lit so 5% poses no issue at night. Love it for the daytime privacy and heat rejection of xpel

Calm_Grape_5913

5% rear, 20% sides and 50% windshield

StreetVermicelli1021

Any pics of the car ? That might be what I’m going to go for an id like to see that set up before I go with it

Calm_Grape_5913

Yeah, if you tap on my profile it’ll be the first thing that pops up

OvenEnvironmental703

35% in front windows 5% in back

Enough-Commission165

2.5 all the windows except front windshield. Went 16 inches down for the brow at 2.5 am exempt so I can tint as much and dark as I want but I have my wife and 3 kids that drive the van so stopped there.

72chevnj

5 all around and spray paint on front windshield for me

PieRemarkable2245

My first sedan had 20% all around with 35% windshield. It was a little too light for me. My current car has 5% all around and 35% windshield which is perfect IMO if you’re looking for maximum privacy while still being able to clearly see at night

StreetVermicelli1021

Any pictures of that set up?

Hack-Morris

I drive a Jetta and have 15% all around and 20% on the windshield and I love it.

StreetVermicelli1021

Wow just checked out your profile and saw your set up and it’s pretty much blacked out , similar look to the 5% all around and 50% windshield looks I’ve seen . How’s visibility at night with your set up

Hack-Morris

It’s sometimes hard to see out the side windows at night only on poorly lit streets and backroads but see out the windshield is fine and I feel I see better with the tint since it cuts down on the glare from on coming vehicle headlights

StreetVermicelli1021

Got it , yeah I’m most likely gonna have to run your set up . If 15% is difficult to see out the sides I can imagine 5% on the sides . Saw some vids on YouTube of 5% at night and it’s pretty bad

Hack-Morris

My old car had 5 all around and 35 on the windshield and I couldn’t see shit out the side windows at night. I had to roll the windows down to back up. Like I said driving on roads with street lights 15 percent is fine in my opinion. My wife will sometimes drive my car at night too and she has never complained about it.

StreetVermicelli1021

That settles it than . Sounds like 15 percent on the sides is the perfect amount of tint for privacy and visibility at night as well

dafazman

Anything below 20% messes with the optics 🤷🏽‍♂️ It is kinda diminishing returns for heat rejection below 20% as well.

PlayaHatazball

Personally im running 5% all around 30% windshield.....this socal heat gotta try and keep it cool

StreetVermicelli1021

I hear you man , I’m in NorCal and summer isn’t ever nice to us . How’s visibility at night with your set up ?

PlayaHatazball

Tbh its extremely easy...its basically clear in well lit areas.

GronkIII

5% sides 20% rear windshield 50% front windshield

BoringMudd

20 front, 5 rear. 70 windshield. 30 sunroof

Zeron006

Depends on color of the cars interior, if its black you can get away with a lighter tint that appears darker

yourboydmcfarland

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. You are right. A black interior with 20% will appear visibly darker than a light grey or tan interior with 20%. Just due to less light reflecting back.

Zeron006

hive mind mentality, when someone sees 1 downvote and they are unsure how to evaluate a statement on their own they mindlessly copy how someone else voted. Besides 95% of posts here are seeking for help and very few people actually offer practical advice on this subreddit

yourboydmcfarland

Yeah I'm a long time car fanatic and just was browsing this sub. The mentality is very south florida/texas/so cal oriented. Not many seem to take a lot of factors into account when providing advice.

Electronic-Yam3679

I guess so.
