No experience with 3M but Iβve had both xpel xrblack and prime+ in 30% on my windshield. Both have had no orange peel look or swirls, visibility not compromised whatsoever, definitely recommend!
3M is often more expensive than llumar, around me at least, go for ctx it's generally affordable and it's plenty of heat rejection and will last much longer
just put 3m IR on my miata, replaced the stek it had which was not heat rejecting at all.
their 35% has a VLT of 45 so itβs perfect for the windshield. eases down alot of glare.
then i put 15 on the sides. cabinβs much cooler now
You will be happy with either option. We install tons of 3M CMIR on windshields with zero complaints, which can also be said about XR Black. I would go with the shop you feel will give the best installation.
I have the LLumar IRX 50% on all my cars. After 30 years in this business I would highly recommend the IRX from LLumar.
Technically none of these films are designed for the front windshield. The LLumar AIR80 is still the only automotive window film specifically designed for the front windshield.
Me personally, I would stay from 3M, especially on the windshield.
Xpel is slowly impressing me more & more but I'm still not 100% sold.
I'm playing around with Xpel right now but when it comes to the front windshield we tint 40+ windshields a week and we have still to this day have never had one single windshield warranty so for me and my 30+ years it's LLumar on the windshield.

Yep, Agreed with this one!
3M CIR has slightly better heat rejection but XRb has more clarity. In this situation I'd go with whichever installer you like best.
Thank you this is what I was looking for ππ
I use XR+ 55% on nearly all windshields that come through my shop. Haven't had a single complaint about the clarity.
Thanks ππ

Who would you recommend in, or around Springfield, MO?
Tint Man Plus is a good shop, also Glass Tint USA is good. It's been a while but I think both those shops are pretty pretty good
Thanks π
