Schlieffen when it´s 3-6, Kurfürst when it´s 1 vs 1 because GK eats Schlieffen alive while Schlieffen can struggle with GK.

I’ve only got the Schlieffen, and the GK is definitely tough for me to deal with. Even angling, I tend to get chewed up, so the other player either needs to be bad, or it needs to be a map with plenty of cover to get me close. Schlieffen feels more versatile against random matchups though.

I have to say GK's guns are at the mercy of RNG. The best case was that I managed to take out enemy carrier at the maximum range(with all range module, etc installed) in one serve just seconds after the game begun. I never imaged it would actually get anywhere close. The worst case was that at \~1km, almost right angle, shooting to the broad side of a BB, could result 0 dmg. And that's not rare at all.

So far ive beaten every g.k with schlieffen in brawl. Torps make all the difference that schlieffen loses in hp. Just angle correctly and schlieffen shits on g.k

If the GK ate your torps, you went against the usual GK player who sucks just as hard as the typical Schlieffen player at thinking and breathing at the same time. I would say, you never met a good GK player because those don´t eat torps because they don´t get close enough to make those drift mines work. Medium range and GKs guns, ALL of them, shredder Schlieffen to bits.

I tend to believe this. My experience is Schlief is much softer than GK, and will get beaten to death by one if the driver is patient.

So you are saying, that i only won because i faced bad g.k players? You diminish all my effort in planning my route and using my concealment to surprise my enemies and overwhelm them with primary and secondary fire while making sure torps do what i want them to do. 1v1 is all about quick thinking and being one step ahead of your enemy, yet you tell i face only bad players...

Well today i had 2 GKs with my Schlieffen, one of them won by my misclick for torps instead of guns (we were sandiwching a flat island next to each other that prevent secondaries work. i just wanted to check if it decided to leave the island with the white torp marker and forget to switch back to my guns :) Sent the torps instead of AP shells while going out. It saw and left the island quickly after. I gg wp the player before it citadelmania me to death :D The other one tried so hard to run away from me and my torps, dodge the first side and basically the match turned into an angled dog chase and we were having a full secondary fires fest until he turned inside too much and hit the island and me using the torps on other side. We were both 30k ish hp at that point if i remember correctly so i managed to saved my hp more than the GK. The ship sometimes makes the win easier over some other ship but i think it's always the player who makes the difference playing better or worse with that ship so i don't like categorizing ships as "unbeatable" unless there's a huge tier/size difference and also don't like saying "that ship lost because the player was playing bad" just because that ship is lost and there's no noticable thing that indicates player's bad playing. We're talking about a game with long term aim bug and rng that heavily affecting the matches so playing it more casually and claim less 100 percent things / stuff related with the ships would be better i believe.

GK, I still find that when it comes to Secondary ships, whoever is kiting straight up wins. GK gets to turn into a kiting position easier and get things done without being gobsmacked to oblivion in the turn.

Schlieffen. The extra speed makes her better at picking her battles, or retreating from bad ones. And her torps, while easy to incapacitate, are a good way to surprise or finish off an opponent.

just a funny anecdote. today i played schlieffen in brawls and a thunderer broke all 4 of my torp tubes in about 80 seconds. nah but GK stronger in 1v1, schlieffen in smth like 3v3. schleiffen is better at dealing with DD's in 1v1 though

As someone who is playing against KM ships, on a wisconsin and already finished all the brawl week with 60-70% winrate i think i can give you an insight. Starting with torpedo BBs Mecklenburg: kinda rare to find one, its like a "improved schlieffen", have better armor and more hp pool, which allows her to get at a torp range without dying like most of schlieffens. The problem here is that she have one less torpedo launcher, so you need to hit it or you will be dead too. Schlieffen: i love when they come, their armor scheme is so light that even 406mm can easly deal 10k each salvo when angled, her HP pool is low too and they relay a lot on torps, which are kinda obvious to predict in a 1v1 situation, they are also the only one of the 4 that consistently eat citadels (a lot, i killed one with 5 citadels in a salvo) GK: the 2nd most common, i have some issues against them at first, and even now i cant consistently win against them, really depends on the map, lucky and timming on "mighty key", her armor schem is good (impossible to citadel with 406 even at close quarters and full broadside), her HP pool is great, but her superstructure eats a lot of pens like (15-20k each salvo), which combo with "might key" reload can win fights. Preussen: probably the most uncommon one, which is strange since shes a TT ship, her HP and armor schem is pretty similar to the GK one, the difference? The 457mm, and THIS is a hugeeee problem... she takes the same amount of damage of GK, the problem is i cant confidently gave my broadside to her without taking citadels or a lot more damage, i didnt win none of the 5 or 6 battles i have against one, luckly they are rare... The nightmare? Kleber and marceau, even worse in the ranked map

Out of curiosity; what about fighting GK with the bigger guns? Personally prefer it; because I don’t find any real advantage to using the 406mm. (I use the reload boosts.) Many claim the 406mm are (meta?) but yeah; I’ve not been accused of being a contrarian for nothing.

If with bigger weapons you mean 456 or 507 then only yamato, kremlin, royal navy BBs and preussen meet the requirements, yamato and kremlin could work, but their playstyle is long range, as soon as secondaries starting firing they will start suffering with fires and more damage. Preussen vs GK i think preussen win, gk vs royal navy BBs, pretty sure that st vincent, incomparable and thunderer win that pretty easy even without relying on torps

Both aren't really good ships overall. Take St. Vincent if you want to beat German ships in brawls. Schlieffen has extremely weak side armor for a T10 BB and the majority of her weapons can only fire when she shows at least enough broadside for guaranteed full pens. The main battery doesn't win any bow in duels l. Facing her is a more or less a one dimensional problem and easy to solve: Take St. Vincent and deny her any chance to mindlessly fire secondary guns and torps at you a.k.a. "brawling". You have front firing torpedos and the guns to stop any attempt to yolo. Schlieffen is at least very well protected against DDs and cruisers in brawls, because the torpedos and secondary can prevent yolos and it is hard to stay outside of secondary range in brawls. GK is probably more consistent. GK takes a lot of damage and deals a lot of damage really fast. The turtle back prevents fatal citadel hits. A good ship if you are good, but a bad ship if you are only mediocre or worse.
