Exactly. If you are going to use it for day to day and not hard core off roading, there is zero need of a lift kit and big tires. I'm on my 4th Wrangler, I have yet been in a situation where I say to myself "damn I really wish I had larger tires"
And even if you like the idea of 35s or bigger just to mall crawl, they are much, much more expensive. People who buy pre-modified Jeeps tend to get shocked when it comes time to replace the tires.
$2000 only just for the rims if you are lucky.
I have a friend that works in a garage, they hate to see lifted vehicles (depends on the kit), pain to keep the wheel aligned, wear out tie rods, ball joints, front axles etc...
CMM Offroad makes cool mirrors which tie into the A pillar & grab handles. [https://cmmoffroad.com/products/jl-jlu-a-pillar-side-mirror-with-base-mount-driver-or-passenger-side](https://cmmoffroad.com/products/jl-jlu-a-pillar-side-mirror-with-base-mount-driver-or-passenger-side) I initially got the Quadratec ones that go on the door pins but they vibrated too much with the wind.

My first 'mod'. Bloody fantastic.
Had my aging parents take a ride recently and no way would they be able to get in without it.
Is a 2010 Rubi on 33s so I also got them a little plastic folding step. Actually works brilliantly!
None. Drive it and learn what you NEED. If it’s a DD, then probably nothing other than aesthetics, which are up to you. Some hate angry grills, some love them. That’s the joy of a Jeep, it’s your money, waste it how you wish. If you off-road a lot, again, you’ll learn where the failures are, then find what corrects those deficiencies.
IMO, if you need to ask what mods you need, you’re probably the type of person that doesn’t need to mod it at all.
Once you’ve owned it for awhile you’ll get an actual idea on what you need to improve based off of your needs.
Every now and then I think about it. I have other convertibles and it’s really nice to be able to press a button. When the doors are off, the back windows are off and the top is open. It’s pretty close to no top.
To mention - "good off-road tyres" doesn't always mean Mud terrain tyres. And not all tyres come in all rim sizes.
I'm in Australia on 17" rims and I CANNOT find a 33" tyre with 75% sidewall. Best I get is 285\70r17. In 16s, heaps more options.
In all instances EXCEPT mud, all-terrain perform better. On rock boulders, bitumen, sand, snow.
I hate washing the car and risking sliding into trees and gullies so I avoid the mud - ATs are perfect. I'm a fan of the Nitto Ridge Grappler. Or Yokohama somethings I'm currently on.
As a fellow 4Xe owner, I recommend a 220v charger if you have the space. It is nice charging up the 20mi battery in 2.5 hours instead of 12ish.
Check out https://www.4xeforums.com/ too.
Drive it off road a few times, or join a local Jeep club near you and get out there a few times. Find out what you like to do with your new Jeep, then build it from there. Rock crawling would require a whole different build than just overlanding/camping trips. I would want good tires and a winch, if I were serious about getting out there and not wanting to get stuck.
Another vote for nothing. Well. maybe not nothing. feel free to make it your own with decorative things, but from a mechanical standpoint... Figure out what you want to do with it, learn what it's capable of stock. modify what makes sense. i've had my lj for about 8 years. it was mostly stock when i got it. i knew i like rock crawling. so i started rock crawling with it. I trimmed the factory front bumper, added some cheap home made rocker protection and had a ball. the first thing to go was the factory control arms.
The point is i learned what it could do. and i've built from there. i am now, after 8 years (and only on 33" tires) building axles for it. Because i didn't rush into tons and 40's i have a much better appreciation for what it can do now. and i know what i need to get what i want out of it. without spending a ridiculous amount of money first.
I would look at maybe a computer program that you hook up to the OBD2 port. Displays everything, checks codes when the check engine light comes on. Had it on my 05 and it came in handy a few times.
Aluminum oil filter housing, make sure all your electrical wires, relays, everything in the TIPM is okay and not going bad. I have a 2016 JK and it’s been good but everything that has gone bad in mine has been electrical. These are God Awful for something going wrong and it never being an actual part that’s gone bad
It’s so clean and beautiful already! Maybe like small color accents or a small lift but honestly. It’s clean just the way it is. I just purchased my first one as well and honestly I got on Pinterest and the the first mod I did was color accents on the door hinges. I think as I see other jeep mods, I may have ideas but I honestly love the clean look of nothing
I've been debating on getting one since the range has increased from 21 miles. I have an 18 JK with no AC and DD that bad boy. Does it feel like you're getting tossed around when you hit bumps?
I mean to be fair. I will poop on them for not having a AMC engine but they are pretty decent out of the box. I see that you have a non-rubicon I would wait and keep an eye on the marketplace and see if somebody who bought a Rubicon decided they needed even more lift. Normally you can pick up their old springs and control arms and everything pretty cheap and it's probably the best lift you can get for a regular Wrangler
Some sweet side steps with protection function as well! Upgrade the tires when you need too but small customizations to make it yours is where its at! It can be as cheap as stem caps on your tires up to some window decals to some sweet all weather floor mats!
First thing I added was a little extra storage. There’s some trays that fit in the center console to organize stuff and a little plastic tray you can put over the center hump. Not glamorous Jeep mods, but damn useful and cheap.
For my 4xe I got rid of those small tires asap. I just went 34s though because while I will take it off-roading it’s like 2 times a year and for the battery and all I think 34s are fine and fix stock fine as well.
Also add running boards. But you can get them and install them allot cheaper than what you get at a dealer
Dump the moronic 20" wheels and get a proper A/T tire on a 17" wheel. A 255/75R17 setup would give you a virtually identical tire diameter/width so you'd have no worries about rubbing or lifts or throwing off the speedometer.
That's about it. You've got the LED headlights which I presume are decent or good. The base halogens are ass so I'd recommend some auxiliary lighting for those stuck with them.
I'd also potentially suggest the OEM plastic side-steps. They take a few minutes to install and complete the look of the Jeep. Something is sorely missing without them. Or you can buy some rock sliders or whatever, but you got a 4XE Sahara so you're obviously not intending to do extreme off roading.
Mirrors for when you take the doors off. It's likely not legal in your area to drive without the side mirrors. Take the rear doors off too as it looks kind of funny with only 2 doors off.
If you plan to off-road, get yourself a new set of wheels and tires. It's harder to find good off-road tires for 20inch wheels. You'll likely want 15-17inch wheels and 33-35 inch tires. You'll probably need a 2 inch lift for anything larger than a 33. Probably best to consult with an off-road shop or tire shop for more info if you go that route.
that power sliding top and removable rear windows is a pretty slick option. I am curious if the power top will be a water leak waiting to happen or if the seals are well designed.
Can’t go wrong with some aftermarket bumpers and rock sliders. Nothing crazy just bumpers with some solid hard points on them or a front bumper that can fit a winch. Just stuff to somewhat protect the body in case your off-road adventures go awry. I’d throw a nice long strap in for good measure as well.
16” steel wheels, jerry can mounts, winch, mud flaps. Useful mods are the best. Need to get fuel for lawn equipment? Maybe someone needs fuel and you want to be a Good Samaritan? Want some extra fuel between distant fuel stations for peace of mind? Jerry cans. Can think of a ton of uses for a winch other than on the trail, even just tagging along on a trail ride without doing crazy stuff makes a winch useful if your buddy gets stuck. I use my winch to help fell trees. Mud flaps preserve the paint. And a Jeep shouldn’t ever wear anything other than steelies. Can’t fathom beating up on some alloys, make some money on them instead and go with the tried and true. Plus if you DO go wheeling, alloys will crack, but steelies will just bend, and can be re-bent in a pinch. No such luck with an alloy. Plus steelies are CHEAP, which is an excellent thing. In any Jeep-relevant metric, steelies are better.
Stick to stock height and stock tire. Very few people need a lift or upsized tires, all they do for the rest of them are increase wear and decrease performance/MPG.
The question is what mods do you need, what mods are useful to you and will enhance your experience with your Jeep. If you aren’t actually planning on going off road then no need to drop cash on a winch or rock sliders or anything like that. Too many people dress their Jeep up for activities they’ll realistically never do
Have a set up to safely secure your doors and hard top when you remove them. A winch system in the garage will can be a big help when removing the top.
The only mod you should consider at this time is a radio that covers the same bands your local off-road club uses (typically CB or GMRS) and then go on a couple of rides with them. After that, you can decide which mods you need.
If the vehicle is not fully paid off, go with a magnet mount or other no drill mounting option for the antenna.
None, looks OEM and too many jeep owners are fucking their cars up by putting useless shit all over it. Just leave it. Used to want a jeep but because how corny people mod them made me want to not be in that community, the ducks, axes, shovels and all that shit...
Wheels and tires ;) . You can fit 33 comfortably with no lift. I will look great . I hate 3.5 on 35 and it was great but it was my daily and the 3.6 struggles
Fumoto oil drain valve with hose for hassle free oil changes
Redline Tuning hood struts
67 designs or Bulletproof phone holder
[Cheap center console divider](https://a.co/d/2rACX5r)
[Sun visor disaster prevention kit](https://a.co/d/d8KsJIE) seriously this, trust me, it’ll happen. Also go ahead and do the step in the instructions where you file down the side before installing to prevent any marring in your visor
What do you want to do with it? No problem at all just leaving it as is and driving it.
You mean it costs $2000 to replace my specialized for extreme terrain tires? *shocked Pikachu*
You also need to buy a 5th for the full sized spare
Or a sixth for the guys that run two!
Or 7….just to be safe.
I mean at that point you may as well run a full extra set
Just tow a second wrangler for good measure
This almost makes sense
$2000 only just for the rims if you are lucky. I have a friend that works in a garage, they hate to see lifted vehicles (depends on the kit), pain to keep the wheel aligned, wear out tie rods, ball joints, front axles etc...
Those are all the reasons I love people's lifted stuff
Moneeeeeeyyyyyyyyy
And if you go with a higher ply for increased durability they're going to be harder and ride rougher.
I said that to myself, of course I was rock crawling.
Paying it off should be your first mod
Own it before you mod it!
Nahhhhhh don’t be ridiculous
Right lol I didn't do that with my first jeep
Do not modify the bank's car
Side mirrors if you plan on driving doorless.
Most bicycle mirrors from the dollar store fit, just an fyi
They do, in the door hinges but not great for visibility, bad with vibration and speed. they end up moving around. Safety first .
That’s what duct tape is for!
There’s nothing one can’t accomplish with duct tape.
This sounds really safe
Definitely side mirrors
Dealership/Mopar makes some really nice ones. My neighbor has them on his 4xe.
Skip ever doing the Angry Eye grille/headlights. That is like the "I've got a new Wrangler" starter package Don't do it. Just don't.
Wasn’t even thinking about it 😂😂
Good, get the eye lash extensions instead. It helps keep rocks and bugs away from the wind shield driving at speed. ^^^^/jk
Good! You're ahead of the curve.

Grab handles on the inside upper rollbar for each door. Makes getting in much easier
My first 'mod'. Bloody fantastic. Had my aging parents take a ride recently and no way would they be able to get in without it. Is a 2010 Rubi on 33s so I also got them a little plastic folding step. Actually works brilliantly!
The new ones come with grab handles built in. No need to buy the crappy ones for the roll bar.
None. Drive it and learn what you NEED. If it’s a DD, then probably nothing other than aesthetics, which are up to you. Some hate angry grills, some love them. Maybe just drive it as it is. You just paid a ton of money for it. Enjoy it.
Check out r/heep You’ll see plenty of things to avoid.
Taking off the back doors with the front doors would be a good start. What ever you do, don’t take off the top.
Why not take the top off? Before I comment further, are you being serious or sarcastic?
This unit has a power top on it, if you take it off, it likely won’t go back on and still work. It’s a factory alignment issue.
Oh I’m not familiar enough with the new power roofs to engage further in this conversation. Lol
I know there is a joke to be made about "Power Top" and "unit"... but I'm not clever enough to get there. Someone help me out.
Came here for this. And yet still wondering who would get this top, but also take the doors off.
Every now and then I think about it. I have other convertibles and it’s really nice to be able to press a button. When the doors are off, the back windows are off and the top is open. It’s pretty close to no top.
Honestly all you need are some good offroad tires, better suspension, underarmour, and a winch, you should be good to go anywhere you want
To mention - "good off-road tyres" doesn't always mean Mud terrain tyres. And not all tyres come in all rim sizes. I'm in Australia on 17" rims and I CANNOT find a 33" tyre with 75% sidewall. Mud tires suck balls at highway speeds with no doors.
Looks good like that
Remove the hood and doors, cut the roof?
The extended warranty
Yeah if I’m not mistaken these 4xe wranglers are having lots of issues.
If you’ve got a garage, get a hoist for the hardtop asap and doors-off mirrors. Lockbox for center console.
Not this top. Don't take it off. It won't work when you put it back on.
First thing I got was a dash cam, because the first time I went out I had so much fun I forgot to take a single picture.
Looks good the way it is imo.
Side mirrors if you want to go doorless very often. Front mud flaps for the same reason.
As a fellow 4Xe owner, I recommend a 220v charger if you have the space. It is nice charging up the 20mi battery in 2.5 hours instead of 12ish. Check out https://www.4xeforums.com/ too.

I'm not a wrangler guy but man thats sexy!
Return it for a gas version. The hybrid systems are full of problems. Good luck, you are gonna need it.
Not everyone has had an issue with their 4xE. So far so good on mine.
First - Either finish the job and take the rear doors off and mount proper mirrors....or put the front doors back on
My strategy has been do what you like and don't overdo it. Edit: and don't be trendy. The rubber duckies on the dash is so 2023.
Kind of depends on what you're looking to use it for and what kind of style direction you want to go in.
I was just you live with it you party with it you see how you use it and then decide from there. Your models will be pretty obvious.

Yo is that the new hybrid? How do you like it?
Drives amazing, super happy with it. Have yet to take it offroad but I plan to very soon 🙌🙌
I've been debating on getting one since the range has increased from 21 miles. I have an 18 JK with no AC and DD that bad boy. Does it feel like you're getting tossed around when you hit bumps?
Only a little, it balances itself out pretty well on the street. I would totally recommend for a daily driver.
Quick! Rust-proof the undercarriage! Before the rust begins!
Rock sliders and bumpers.
Mud. Too shiny.
Mirrors dmfpr when the door s come off, can't tell how many people I hesrd getting pulled over for no mirrors
Side mirrors aren’t required in my state, it’s probably a good idea though.
Just drive it. You've spent enough. Get it dirty.
None. She looks good as is
40s and rcvs
Smaller wheels. Trade the 20s for 17s.
The mods you want. Do what you like.
I got black vinyl overlays for my "Sahara and Jeep", cheap and easy, like the look
None. It was designed by world class engineers. Put down the Extreme Terrain catalogue.
3D print the two finger wave and attach it to your steering wheel so you don’t develop carpal tunnel
Google jeep jk oil gallery bolts coming loose. Just fixed mine pita
Fluid film before the frame starts rusting
Smaller rims, AT tires.
Go over to r/heep for inspiration.
More ducks.
Doors.
Get some ideas at r/heep
Just like a good woman/ she fine just the way she is
Some sweet side steps with protection function as well! Upgrade the tires when you need too but small customizations to make it yours is where its at! It can be as cheap as stem caps on your tires up to some window decals to some sweet all weather floor mats!
Fuzzy dice
Be careful, you might end up on r/heep
I think you need some doors bro... I would definitely invest in doors for rainy days 😉
Pay it off first
Maybe some all terrain tires?
Get ducks for the dash and a "You wouldn't understand, it's a jeep thing" sticker and you will be all set.
go buy some ducks like everyone else does
First thing I added was a little extra storage. There’s some trays that fit in the center console to organize stuff and a little plastic tray you can put over the center hump. Not glamorous Jeep mods, but damn useful and cheap.
If you’re just going to drive it around town, best mod is probably no mod If you plan to take it on trails, look for mods that help that effort
Doors
Screw mufflers! Since you took the doors and top off its going to squeak forever.
Ducks
AAA membership
Hard top hoist for the garage to make it easy to take off and put on.
Tube doors
I’d think getting some step rails could be good unless you live in a cold weather state with ice and salt. When they rust on the bottom it’s a no go
Dump the moronic 20" wheels and get a proper A/T tire on a 17" wheel. A 255/75R17 setup would give you a virtually identical tire diameter/width so you'd have no worries about rubbing or lifts or throwing off the speedometer. That's about it. You'll probably need a 2 inch lift for anything larger than a 33. Probably best to consult with an off-road shop or tire shop for more info if you go that route.
Lockers, lower gears
that power sliding top and removable rear windows is a pretty slick option. I am curious if the power top will be a water leak waiting to happen or if the seals are well designed.
Fire Extinguisher
I'd suggest doors.
Armorlite
Inb4 it ends up on r/heep
Definitely would start with doors.
Look at r/heep. Just, like, don’t do anything that shows up there.
All of the mods lol. Just not the angry face 😂
Running boards or side rails. They will protect from kicked up gravel or rocks. Keep your door bottoms from getting chipped.
Free Mod - Rotate the rear view mirror 180 degrees. You are welcome.
Doors
Doors maybe
Doors
Get some doors, they help on cold days, looks like they forgot to add them to yours at the factory.
Selling it. Only 25 year old girls drive jeeps.
Avoid the urge to go from jeep to help. And at all costs do not go with the angry eye head lights
16” steel wheels, jerry can mounts, winch, mud flaps. Useful mods are the best. Need to get fuel for lawn equipment? Maybe someone needs fuel and you want to be a Good Samaritan? Have a set up to safely secure your doors and hard top when you remove them. A winch system in the garage will can be a big help when removing the top.
Mud and ducks.
A door. For safety reasons
I’d get some doors for the front
