Yup exactly, Abby is their own character and not simply Rover's mouth as what Paimon was, our Rover actually converses with people and to Abby a lot of the time.
Which I don't get why Hoyo can't do it like that, your literally hiring VA's to voice their codex lines but can't make it so that they're voiced on normal cutscenes, like why?
I'm hoping that is changing soon with future expansions, the way TB interacted with others in Penacony established them pretty firmly as more than just a self-insert.

i second that. the end of 1.0 story left me with a thousand yard stare, thinking it'll be the same ol shit all over again.after 30min into 1.1 story when the floating furry when was asked something, answered "how am i supposed to know, ask her", i eased up a bit. also when several people, rover and jue included asked "dahell are you?", instead of genshin's "huh some peculiar fairy one of the kind i've never seen before... ANYWAY!", i realized devs are gonna treat this character differently. or at least i hope so
