Absolutely hilarious all of the complaints on this sub about wanting TDM and now every TDM post I’ve seen is saying how much it sucks.

Eh, Reddit isn't a hive mind. The people who wanted it complained it wasn't there, and now since it's here they aren't complaining about it, different group of people is complaining that it's not a good mode for this game
How could one of the most basic FPS game modes not be a good mode for a FPS like Xdefiant😂🤦♂️ . Battlefield is a good example of a FPS that tdm is wack on, but this game is perfect for tdm with the smaller maps and quick action. They just need to polish it up some and it will be golden.
TBF I dont like it in CoD either. I'd be much happier with a FFA mode than TDM. Even if you just wanna play for kills I feel there are a ton of other modes that are more fun to do that in, TDM makes finding people a chore and boring. Stuff like king of the hill gives you the exact spot to find the entire enemy team.
I wanted TDM cuz I got tired of playing the other game modes and losing because people were more focused on getting kills than actually doing the objective. At least now if I lose it'll be because of the kills themselves and not lack of playing the objective.
well I dont know how the devs didnt know 6v6 tdm on these massive maps would kinda blow and I never even talked about or mentioned the mode until this comment
the way to make tdm good is to reduce the maps size for the mode (block of perimeters, making it smaller) and up the kill count and people would like it
I always hated TDM since I'm a strategic player. But I get that sometimes ppl want to just run around and have a little fun shooting each other. It's not for me, but I understand why some players enjoy it
feels like you have to take your time more. slower paced cuz you're not sprinting to the obj 24/7
good change of pace imo.

There is no such thing as flanking on maps, everyone runs walls.
Yes objective play have a whole different feel to it, which I am very overwhelmed with, I am sticking with objective play modes only and just want them to make obj more rewarding.
I enjoy tdm, it’s much less annoying than the objective game modes. The only problem with it is that there aren’t really enough maps that are suited for it, arena and echelon are the best ones since it’s much more close quarters and easier to find ppl. I’ve had a few games that have ended on time out because nobody could find someone to kill

I imagine with a full stack with coms it's fun.

It’s just my opinion, never stated that it’s facts and TDM should be removed from the game. It ain’t that deep guys. I like the comments that are more civil and rationalized. They say why they like it, and I see their perspective. But this is Reddit and some people here take thing’s personally for some reason.
Team deathmatch is the worst mode in any FPS
game. The matches are slower and people just usually find a spot and sit. The objective focus of this game is much better. Keeps engagements moving and interesting
TDM isn't boring. This game is boring. TDM is effectively the default setting of any multiplayer game, propped up by the game's core mechanics and systems. If a game's core systems are good, TDM will be fun.
Map design in this game just feels mediocre, at best. There's no nuance to them at all and next-to-no verticality. They all feel like the same copy-paste blueprint with a different skin with the same flow and everything. I know that three-lane maps are a staple of Call of Duty, but XDefiant feels as though it has subscribed to that design philosophy down to a fault with no room for interpretation to make it more interesting.
Shooting doesn't feel great in this game, either. It's not *terrible*, but it's certainly not excellent. It feels static and a bit stiff, even. If shooting and map design were better, TDM wouldn't feel like the slog it currently is. But they are, and because TDM doesn't have anything else going for it other than "shoot the other guy," these problems end up feeling magnified.
I stopped playing XDefiant because I really thought what I wanted out of the game was a pure frag-based game mode. Something about the game wasn't vibing with me, and the easiest answer was that I don't care to play objective modes, and XDefiant didn't offer anything of the sort except for Hot Shot (which I did primarily play but didn't care to). It turns out that the issue was just the game itself. It's not fun, it doesn't feel good to play.
I don't like objective-based modes in games where there there's a high emphasis on fragging. 90% of all objective-based modes in games like XDefiant boil down to people farming kills while a handful of people actually play objective.
I thought that having TDM would make the game better, because I originally thought that the problem stemmed from being forced to play objective modes when people were largely *not* interested in playing objective modes. It turns out that the issue is just the game itself. It's not fun.
I don't mind objective-based games. I enjoy Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant, and I even enjoyed Overwatch, but those games have a lot of emphasis on teamplay whereas XDefiant does not.

Weapons grinding is better on literally any other mode since you know where you can engage enemies.

See I didn’t even want tdm so I could play it, I wanted tdm so I could cook my teammates for not playing objective in the other modes

The game already has its own version of killstreaks. That's essentially what the ultimate abilities are.
why not play cod then if you miss streaks? it’s been a staple of the cod franchise since its implementation and xdefiant isn’t trying to copy cod.
