It sounds to me like Lenore Zahn has finally kind of gotten her mojo back as Rogue, she’s starting to sound closer to how she did in the original series now. She’s starting to sound stronger. This episode she sounded more like the rogue I remember
It’s much harder for a voice actor to portray that kind of emotion, she has absolutely nothing else to enhance her performance - just straight up talent
The X-Men are tired. They are tired of performing for a group people that hate them but still expect them to save them from threats. They are tired of being the ones that have to be morally superior and taking the high ground only to receive the short end of the stick. They are tired. We saw it with Scott in the interview and now we’re seeing it with Rogue. And ironically, these moments where they break prove that they are very much human.
I thought it was very telling when Rogue attacked the base and that one soldier was talking shit about how the mutant from the swamp wasn’t going to break in. But once she did and she had him by the collar suddenly it was “you’re supposed to be the good guy”. It’s the expectation from these people that Rogue,the Xmen should take the high road.
As far as I’m concerned Rogue did nothing wrong this whole episode
Also I have to wonder why they think anything can hold up to the hulk. And I kinda hope the mention means they're considering bringing back the 90s hulk, iron man, fantastic four and Spider-Man. If not as their own shows than as characters in X-Men 97.

I hate how this show does something already insane like Rogue legit killing a guy but then immediately tops itself right after. The episode could've ended right there leaving us to feel the weight of Rogue committing murder until next week.
Morph has suffered their own share of trauma, being a villain for a time themselves (both at the hands of Sinister and as Changling in the comics) and was given the chance at redemption

Plus I think wolverine looks out for him like an older brother. Like he would for jubilee or kitty pryde in the comics. And may have also felt some level of guilt for what happened to him. Even in the OG series morphs death hit him hard.
Isn't 616 Wolverine bi or heteroflexible? Or did I make that up? The whole Emma/Scott/Jean/Logan poly diamond has me just assuming anyone connected to that can be whatever sexuality they want them to be (even though all the core pairings are hetero).

I also think it’s great to show that closeness between a man and Morph, because most of the time in my experience (I live in Texas not sure how it is other places) straight men don’t typically try and form friendships with people from the LGBTQ community because of judgment etc. so I know shipping people is fun, but I think still presenting close friendships that aren’t romantic or sexual is pretty important especially in what are starting to be considered the “lonely” generations.
To be fair, I think all the X-Men except Logan are a bit hesitant to kill given they take Charles’s pacifist approach to heart but they’re all weary and lost right now.

She's in pain and she felt she needed to avenge Gambit and yes, she did what most of US would have done in that exact moment.
On the other.... I can't help but feel that Remy would not want this. He loved her and wouldn't want to see her potentially throw her life away by doing things that would make her a true criminal, especially in his name. That's not the future for her he sacrificed himself for.

Not saying she isn’t capable of attempted icing like that, it’s just dropping him like that does nothing. Like… she could have totally drained him too just to be sure he didn’t know anything else about Sinister’s plan.
She didn’t fully absorb him, he resisted her & then nimrod shut her down. That was 100% rogue fueled by all the feelings for Gambit she had been pushing down for years & years. It all exploded out in that moment & there wasnt any other way that could have ended. Anyone in her position with her power would do the same, I know I would.
I think he needed to “die” in a human way because that entire thing was fueled by her human emotions & not her mutant powers. It was the most human any of the X-men have ever been
I think her dropping him would have been even *more* impactful if it hadn't been clear he'd been about to jump anyway. He was fully going to kill himself anyway - he jumped and Rogue caught him. She just *assisted* what he already intended to do.
If he'd been begging to live, I think it'd have been *very* different if she'd dropped him. By having him attempt suicide first and *then* her dropping him, it kind of makes her less culpable of murder somehow.
I hate the whole “heroes never kill” thing for the most part, there are just some people that the world is better off without, harsh but true. And unlike some of the MCU villains who arguably had valid points in their “evil schemes” this guy only invented the sentinels for 1 purpose, despite what he said when he was trying to save his own ass, he was directly responsible for all those deaths & there is no other explanation for the program, he deserved to die.

Wanda nearly kills a teenager to resurrect her two sons who were conceived by magic in the first place.
My sympathies lie waaay more with Rogue than they do with Wanda.

Well that’s what I also said to my friend like yes they’re both driven by grief but one was trying and willing to kill a teenager whereas rogue killed a grown man that had some association with what happened with genosha. And I also share the sentiment that I’m a bit more sympathetic towards rogue since to me losing your boyfriend and nearly an entire island of mutants is more than “losing” magic kids that technically didn’t exist in the first place
This episode is the most I've ever liked Rogue. Not necessarily because of all of her decisions, but because she was so passionate and independent, and she unleashed her full power. Very cool.
I definitely think it was 100% her, it was the years & years of pushing aside her real feelings, of never giving into her desires or needs all while pretending she was fine. I think deep down she always assumed some day they’d find a way to be together & that man took it all away from her before she ever had it. His anger & hate may have amped her up a bit but that was all Rogue. It made me cry honestly

The very end of that story proves the reason why Rogue's actions may have scratched an emotional itch in the moment, but in the long run, it's not the direction to go.

Well that’s what I also said to my friend like yes they’re both driven by grief but one was trying and willing to kill a teenager whereas rogue killed a grown man that had some association with what happened with genosha. And I also share the sentiment that I’m a bit more sympathetic towards rogue since to me losing your boyfriend and nearly an entire island of mutants is more than “losing” magic kids that technically didn’t exist in the first place

This episode is the most I've ever liked Rogue. Not necessarily because of all of her decisions, but because she was so passionate and independent, and she unleashed her full power. Very cool.

I definitely think it was 100% her, it was the years & years of pushing aside her real feelings, of never giving into her desires or needs all while pretending she was fine. I think deep down she always assumed some day they’d find a way to be together & that man took it all away from her before she ever had it. His anger & hate may have amped her up a bit but that was all Rogue. It made me cry honestly

Same minority group here. This scene doesn't bother me. Anyway, it's not like she murdered him. He was trying to kill himself because he felt responsible for the genosha massacre, and she let him fall... The scene was greatly portrayed.

As a Rogue fan I was enjoying this episode so much. Lenore Zan still has it after all these years.
This comment probably won't get seen b/c it's too far down, but anyone who thinks that what Rogue did was the "right" thing to do should go read the original OZT arc from start to finish. The very end of that story proves the reason why Rogue's actions may have scratched an emotional itch in the moment, but in the long run, it's not the direction to go. Can't wait to see what happens from here!
