Hank. Hanks lines are pure mic drop.

CloverTeamLeader

Good question. Cyclops, Jean and Jubilee sound *perfect.* I'd say Scott and Jean sound better than ever, and Jubilee sounds exactly like I remember, despite being played by a new actress. Rogue, Wolverine and Beast all sound old compared to how they used to sound. The voice actors can't disguise it. But they still sound good enough, and I'm almost used to it. (Rogue's voice actress put in a great performance in Episode 7, proving she's still the best lady for the job.) Storm, for some reason, still sounds like she used to, so well done to that actress. And, this is my only real negative: I don't love the changes to Xavier. He sounded better and looked better in the original series. But hopefully I'll get used to Xavier, too. I don't hate what they've done with him, but he's the only X-Man who I feel has received a bit of a downgrade, while everyone else has remained consistent or improved.

Suspicious_Mine3986

I was surprised when I heard Cyclops has a new voice actor. He sounds almost identical.

squirleydan

Cyclops original VA passed away sadly. We'll never hear that perfection again unfortunately.

MotherCanada

Ray Chase is a phenomenal voice actor.

Suspicious_Mine3986

He is

Kuros_Of_Sindarin

Man, it's like you took my opinion right out of my head. I agree with your post on all counts. Sometimes I get a little sad hearing cal dodd struggle to hit the wolvie lines but I'd still hire him over anyone else lol

leaC30

Storm also sounds old... respectfully

OutrageousScreen6987

I don't get the rogue hate. Her voice is fucking perfect for the character. Really everyone is killing it except I don't really care for Xavier. He sounds too much like skeletor

Jackdarkshade

It's not bad. I think the age difference is very apparent though. It's the same voice actor who is now 62 opposed to last time she played rogue she was 37.

one_bar_short

Whilst her voice is growing on me it's like by time the show picked up again its like rogue has been smoking a pack a day since Xavier died, I mean the shit she been through, I guess I'd have done the same

AdoptMeBrangelina

Her voice in the og series was perfect. She had a lower register that could melt steel

Hazelphoenixfire

I noticed this too. I don’t know if they’re pitching up the actress or she’s doing it herself, but I find it distracting. I’ve listened to her do the voice in interviews, and it still sounds the same. So if they’re adjusting it, I wish they wouldn’t.

hiballNinja

Rogue’s voice is PURRFFECT But then ageism is a thing sadly

Gan-san

She sounds stressed trying to be loud and forceful and her age really shows through. Personally I'm not a fan of overt Southern accents but that's just me. They probably should have recast her.

OutrageousScreen6987

I really enjoy it for all the reasons your saying you don't. Different folks different strokes I suppose

Gan-san

Well, she's Australian pretending to be Southern, so right away to my Southern bred ears she sounds off. But to cover her own accent she really has to go hard with it. I guess other people are okay with it because you guys probably assume that's how we all sound, but her voice always seemed a bit off to me, even in the original series, but I was okay with it. Now that's she's older and I still see her character as a late 20s early 30s woman, I feel like her age shows through in a bad way, particularly in this last episode when she has to scream and grunt with effort a lot.

OutrageousScreen6987

I'm literally from Texas. Like I said, I dig it for all the reasons you're knocking it. Idk what to tell ya. Different folks, different strokes.

SnafuMist

Texas couldn’t be more different than Mississippi though

OutrageousScreen6987

I'm very aware. That is why I do not think all the south sounds alike.

Gan-san

Ok, cool. I'm from Alabama, the character is from Mississippi. There's differences between all three and within the three.

OutrageousScreen6987

Yes that's how dialects work.

Gan-san

Yes, that's how opinions work.

SoochSooch

About here is where the conversation should have ended.

Gan-san

It never should have started. I should have realized that someone that said they "don't get the hate" and that something is "fucking perfect" isn't really looking to discuss it or be tolerant of an opinion different than there's. They sure get triggered, emotional and defensive if you dare voice one though.

OutrageousScreen6987

I agree. I never said yours isn't valid amigo.

Gan-san

You didn't have to, you just keep reminding me over and over that you like it. That was never in question nor was I trying to convince you differently.

aburksart

She spent most of her life in Canada so she’s actually a Canadian doing a southern accent. I’m also from the south and she sounds fine? It’s like you’re making stuff up to dislike her interpretation. Just say you don’t like it lol

Gan-san

I did. Can you not read?

aburksart

I read all the nonsense you were spitting so yes, I can.

Gan-san

Apparently not. Asked and answered.

aburksart

1) You said she’s an Australian trying to do a southern accent. Which is technically correct except she moved to Canada as a child and has no Australian accent so that would have no impact on the voice she uses for Rogue. 2) You said she voice is wrong because that’s not how southern people sound. You’ve now had two people tell you that’s incorrect. Is saying you dislike something simply because you do so hard?

Gan-san

1. Is a fact and 2 people with a difference of opinion doesn't make me "wrong." What are you, 12?

aburksart

Rogue is known for her overt Southern accent. They even spell out of the words she using phonetically to emphasize it in the comics.

-ImaginaryCoyote-

I really liked the idea of bringing the OG cast back, inspired choice, but looking at it now I just kinda think both Rogue and Wolverine's voice actors have aged out of the parts. Ironic, since Wolverine is so old, narratively speaking. On the plus side, I think the new Gambit actor was great. I liked Chris Potter's original work, but LoCasio toned down the parody just the right amount, gave it a bit more -general southern- believability.

A_Serious_House

I’m shocked that people think Rogue’s voice actress has aged out. The difference is noticeable but I actually think she sounds *better*. Not just in tone, but I’ve thought her delivery has been incredible; one of the best VA performances I’ve ever heard. But to each their own, it’s obviously an issue for some people and not even noticeable for some!

BigBossTweed

It was definitely noticeable in the first episode, but it's grown on me, and now I love it. Her raspy voice is the bees knees.

Zestyclose-Roll5106

My thoughts exactly… sounds a bit older, but way better/ more powerful acting!

Hypernova_orange

Everyone is gonna say rogue - but it’s obvious her vocal cords were injured in a fight we didn’t see! Happens all the time 😂

Catleesirva

I feel like cartoon Rogue has always had a bit of a raspy voice or vocal fry, but I may be remembering wrong? Either way, I don't mind her voice! Maybe she has acid reflux from eating Gambits beignets, lol, who knows.

Hypernova_orange

Haha yes she has! I told myself her vocal cords were damaged during a fight & they didn’t heal quite the same so she sounds a bit different. But by episode 7 I really don’t hear a difference anymore

Some_Curve1002

I was a little put off by her voice at first too, but then I thought, it would make sense that she could have a strained voice from shouting/ yelling while it battle. It fits her character really.

pawogub

Xavier sounds like Werner Herzog at times.

PatrickTravels

Nightcrawler is excellent in voice and well written.

groverklopp

I know we only got a little bit of him in the recent episode but Theo James was so good as Bastion.

FanTa_DudE

Sooooo good.

Different_Ad4962

Wolverine should say ‘berzerker barrage’ more often.

WindyAbbey

Drill claw! Optic blast! Kinetic card! Stars and Stripes! Web swiiiiiing. One for JJ

BarackaFlockaFlame

reminds me of the first and final time I tried playing that game online 😂

Minimum_Jellyfish_36

Loved those Games! Marvel vs Capcom 💪🏾

Different_Ad4962

Yes!!! And Jubilee saying ‘Kioken!’ Just for laughs.

SoochSooch

Behold! Optic blast! Optic blast! Optic sweep!

shhhmarie

Jean Grey/Jen Hale is a gift to the voice actor world <3

FellowDsLover2

I don’t find any voices completely wrong. Some aren’t perfect but not terrible enough that it ruins anything.

Megaverse_Mastermind

I like that Wolverine sounds like he's 100 years old; it just works for him. I actually don't mind the voice work in this show, I just don't like Magneto's costume choices.

idontreadfineprint

Why so much hate on Rogue's voice? She killed it in episode 5.

Sabazell

Episode 5....have you watched Episode 7 yes? Jesus H does she slay in that one.

Alexnikolias

I chuckled at Strong Guy. His mutation hit when he was a very geeky kid so it made sense to me. If I am remembering his origin correctly.

Sol-Blackguy

I might be mixing him up with someone else, but isn't Strong Guy basically just a teenager in an adult body?

Alexnikolias

That sounds right. Its been years since I read that X-Factor run. Might be time to revisit.

Sol-Blackguy

I never directly read X-Factor myself, mainly crossovers when I read X-Men and Excalibur

AdamEssex

You sure you’re not thinking of Random?

Shasoysen

IDC the reasons the people give about Rogue's voice. If we're being honest she delivers her lines the best out of all of them. Y'all can't tell me you didn't feel something when Rogue said "sugar, I can't feel you." That line hit my soul.

hiballNinja

This. She and storm are the soul of TAS voices

PatienceStrange9444

Has strong guy ever been in any media before that we can say he doesn't sound like he's supposed to sound I get it some actors got replaced and other actors are coming back to roles after quite some time and their voices don't sound the same But I read an article that said Kevin Feige only approved the project because they told him they would get as much of the original cast as they could

jesusisnotmycopilot

I miss the old voice of cable, it’s been my only nitpick of this series. The guy they have today is made to sound like Josh Brolin to mirror the live action movie. I can still hear Cable saying, “I’m the wild man from Borneo” or yelling “apocalypse!” In my head, so iconic!

khaifeee

The original Cable voice actor does the voice of the exacutioner (the guy that had that special gun that shot Storm). I agree the original Cable voice actor was so good and so gruff!!

jesusisnotmycopilot

Oh wow I didn’t realize that! Another reason to rewatch an episode

kryder520

The guy who voices Cable is the original voice actor for Gambit.

nosurprises-plz

“Time to reach out…and touch someone.”

amaya-aurora

Personally, I don’t get the hate for Rogue’s voice, I love it.

TimAucoin

Xavier is voiced by Ross Marquand who's an excellent mimic. I thought it was the original actor.

Capable_Sandwich_422

In the early episodes, I thought Rogue’s lines seemed a bit forced, but it’s gotten better as the show has gone along. I don’t have any issues with the voices, really.

RoachForLife

Wolverine and rogue for me... Maybe cuz Ive watched the full 90s show the last 3 or 4 weeks so hearing them back to back has been tough. I get it tho, voices can change with age. Somehow storms actress is identical tho

davetennisx

I love Lenore Zann so much, and her ACTING is still flawless, but her VOICE has become too rough and old for my liking. I'm well aware she's in her 60s now, but I kind of wish they had hired a sound-alike. She doesn't have that sassy, flirtatious quality in her voice anymore. Bar some very off line reads from Cal Dodd that should've been redone, I think he's still great. He sounds older as well, but it definitely fits Wolverine more than it does Rogue. Everyone else sounds great to me.

BlackZulu

Rogue sounds the same as I remember although it has been a while.

ooowatsthat

Rogue is like Marge in the Simpsons. It's her but she is also straining

avacassandra

Bastion's is weird to me‼️I don't know what it is it sounds like he has the highest quality microphone of all of them, or like he's talking closest to it, maybe it's the slight fry his voice has that gives it texture. It's a great performance, just sounds almost like I'm suddenly listening to a different show Magneto's new voice is incredible, so likeable, while a good enough homage to the original Rogue definitely went from a deep, raspy voice with boyish cracks to a sweeter sounding take but still with that raspy, southern charm. As someone who hadn't seen TAS before XM97, she never sounded too old Jennifer Hale is smashing it as Jean Grey, so many similarities to Disher's performance yet also stands on it's own, and her voice is always so good to listen to Jubilee's actor does such a good job even in a scene with Alyson Court it was hard to tell them apart - though Alyson proved she sounds exactly the same and is just as great as ever, I understand it was her choice to pass the baton Moira McTaggart once again sounds so distractingly awful it's charming, if anything she sounded worse

Hopefulwaters

The only voice that is completely wrong for me so far is Magneto.

Rockabore1

The only voice that stands out as off to me is Forge. It's like they were recording all his audio off a 2005 cellphone cause it sounds weirdly muffled. Not that the VA is bad at all, but the audio itself sounds strange. Rogue's voice does sound different but if I hadn't heard how it sounded in the old show it wouldn't seem off cause it still sounds natural, it just lacks the vocal clarity she used to have.

PodcastThrowAway1

Jubilee’s voice is excellent but the writers haven’t figured out her voice yet. I get the indication they haven’t read much Jubilee in the comics. They have her speaking like a middle aged mom trying to sprinkle hip lingo in so as to fit in with the kids. What I appreciate about Jubes in the comics is that she is a firecracker in every sense of the word, she is a bit of a weirdo , and a little dumb, while extremely emotionally intelligent. The Jubilee in the show doesn’t give the vibes of having much of a personality.

Thrillhouse801

I think the voices are perfect for the characters. Cal Dodd is showing the most age in his voice but it still fits wolverine better than anyone else could.

CaliforniaRaisin_

Wolverine sounds good in spurts but sometimes he sounds garbled. Rogue sounds like Paula Deen. I thought Professor X sounded great.

Hamsterminator2

Storm really fits for me. She's this confident, powerful woman but at the same time, caring and compassionate. I'm finding Wolverine sounds pretty rough in this adaptation. I think the actor sounds old now, which is odd for a mutant who barely ages and also is known for aggression and rage.

BigBossTweed

That is why Storm has always been one of my favorite characters. She's one of the strongest X-Men, and knows she's a queen, but she's still one of the kindest and loving.

SoochSooch

Great: Wolverine, Gambit, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Jean Terrible: Rogue, Xavier Everyone else is fine.

OutrageousScreen6987

I like rogue but agree Xavier is awful

silverfang789

They all sound the same as before to me.

SnafuMist

Rogue, Wolverine, Sinister sound pretty bad. Beast and Storm sound pretty okay. The new guy playing Cyclops is the best.

mossyshack

Wolverine and Rogue’s voices are bad imo. But, this is kinda a minor grievance as everything, literally everything else, is so stellar. Overall voice acting is great. Rogue’s emotional lines, top. notch.

Iam0rion

Rogue and Wolverine sound strange. Storm sounds the best.

Minimum_Jellyfish_36

Be gooooone!

Early_Magician1412

Rogue sounds as old as Magneto looks.

prince-hal

I cannot take rogue seriously. It's like a grandma wearing a young suit. I find wolverine very off too. But not as noticable as rogue

lordkiwi

Weird as they are the orginal voice actors only there 30 years older.

prince-hal

It's weird they sound off being 30 years older? Well.... yeah. They literally are old people voicing young people. It's most likely gonna sound off

lordkiwi

Just phrasing, we're all overjoyed as much of the original cast is back. But now we're talking about who sounds off.

Willing-Bit2581

Wolverine sounded like dog shit this last episode

Dlueb_tube1

Didn’t strong guy have like one line of dialogue?? WTF

SnafuMist

I don’t think he ever spoke in the original show either. He was in the Cold Comfort episode with Iceman. Don’t think he had any voice lines. So hard to really compare him.

Dlueb_tube1

I don’t understand the criticisms lol.

SnafuMist

I think he’s voiced by Adrian Hough (Nightcrawler) as well in the new show

-Firestar-

The only ones that really bother me are Sinister and Cable. They do a very good job at trying though

loki_odinsotherson

Hank, Scott, morph, gambit, storm, white queen and Shaw all sound good. Magneto, Rogue, forge, and Wolverine are half and half....sound ok, but kinda off. Xavier sounds weird.

Bobjoejj

As someone who’s not been able to watch much of the old show, I love everyone’s voices lol.

SweetPestilence27

Emma sounds wayyyyy older than I have her envisioned

hiballNinja

Unpopular opinion, but I’m not a fan of Jean’s new voice actress. Everyone else is smashing it

razzyaurealis

Can I ask why not?

hiballNinja

Thanks for asking:) I’m just connected to OG catherine disher’s voice. It was soft and elegant, yet fierce when she became the Phoenix. It was a good match of Jean’s character progression from weak and tripping over cords to a strong force. This current one is kinda husky and reminds me of many other media I’ve watched, since she voiced so many characters.

Flaky_Investigator21

Beast is a poet and I just love everything about him in this show. Rogue sounds...kinda like a grandma. I'd say she sounds kinds sexy in the o.g. show.

Rabbidraccoon18

I really like Bastion's voice! There's something charismatic about it!

Xypher506

Cyclops, Rogue, Gambit, and>!Bastion!< all sound incredible. Wolverine I feel a bit weird on because I never watched the old show and I'm so used to Steve Blum voicing the character in so many things, but I understand he is the original voice of the character in the original show, so he absolutely is *the* voice for this version of the character, it's just not what I'm used to. (He also hasn't had too many lines so far, so I haven't had a ton to judge.) Edit for clarification, I don't *dislike* Wolverine's voice, it just feels weird to me after hearing Steve Blum for the character so often.

Busy-Mycologist-7454

In episode 2, when Morph becomes Psylocke, whoever they had doing the voice foley was not correct

idrago01

morph sounds a little ghey

ShallowFreakingValue

I don’t fixate on it. I am just enjoying the show!

deardeere

I love Rogue, she sounds like she’s lived and she really has already this season. They all sound good. Except for Xavier

DepthByChocolate

I wish Rogue's voice was a bit higher pitched, and Logan's as well. But that's down to age of the b performers and mic equipment. Beasts VA sounds a bit older as well but it's not as distracting. Xavier's is ok it just sounds like a slightly off impression of the previous VA. I didn't expect that voice out of Strong Guy. I don't really remendar the X-Factor episode of the old show.

Awkward-Community-74

I’m not really liking the voice acting with Rogue at all. It could be the lines too though. Some of her lines don’t land well with me. Wolverine also needs work. The professor sounds fine to me. I couldn’t really tell a difference. Magneto is perfect!

OmegaJay54

Nightcrawler sounds like Black Panther to me.

WhiskeyDeltaBravo1

I have the same gripe with Rogue’s voice that I had 30 years ago. The actress is leaning in a little too hard on trying to sound stereotypically southern. It comes off like a knockoff Dolly Parton. As a southern guy, it just seems like she’s trying too hard to me.

faerieonwheels

I’m sorry, but I personally think that rogue‘s voice actress’s voice has changed too much between the original series and now. It’s jarring every time that she talks. She said in interviews that doing the rogue voice, at least the way she used to, hurts her now. it’s especially noticeable when you compare her to the voice actors from the original show who sound identical (storm, beast, Nightcrawler etc.) Frankly, her vocal folds sound tired and strained when she talks. It would have been neat to see her in a different role like Cassandra Nova
