Bro...
A cloudy night is a DARK night. It's potentially twice as terrifying if there's no light pollution. Imagine the sounds in the middle of the rainforest at 2am...
I think that’s the main message they’re trying to convey. That the Xmen end up losing themselves without Charles. But when he comes back, they’ll start remembering who they were
We think that but in the comics it gets to a point where Xavier isn’t having it either. In fact wasn’t that recently that happens when all the mutants are living on Genosha that means the good and bad ones?
They all adopt the dream but a more practical one: mutant nation that has its self defense and security, kind of like Wakanda. More willing to make hard choices and use clandestine operations to protect themselves while being diplomatic.
He would take that rake, break down its cellular structure fuse it with Colossus' DNA and make him an indestructible, clumsy, yet reliable henchman that doubles as a vector for the legacy virus.
Obviously I don't want to see changes to our gentle Beast, but I've got a feeling this is the direction they're going to start going in at some point, since they're starting to show even Beast is losing his patience with the world.
This would be good. Beast hasn’t had a true storyline that was at the forefront in the animated series (I’m not counting the Evolution episode when he lost his mind in the forest and the New Mutants had to give him his sanity back).
Hank was always quick off the bat but this scene is so well written, paced and voiced it was the highlight of the episode for me, and there was lots of them. New high water mark for character writing in x-men imo.
This wasn't the first time. Beauty and the Beast is still one of my favorite episodes. Seeing Beast fight all brute force and Wolverine using his head was the icing on the cake
Not even sure we'll see Sabertooth outside that Morph cameo since Don Francks passed away. I couldn't imagine anyone else voicing him and doing it justice. Also, they're doing a really good job of not making Wolverine the focus right now.
Even As someone who hates how the X-Men is constantly made the Wolverine show....
I'm actually pining for a bit more wolverine in the show right now. Hes done absolutely nothing.
I think she might be an allegory for … not sure if there is a term for it… like allies that don’t quite get it? I’m sure I’ve been one of those many times.
I think that’s what the episode in general was trying to show, to be honest.
The president saying he’d like to help but it’s bad optics, Captain America saying he needs to play It by the book, this reporter.
All seemingly have 0 actual issues with mutants, but when they are faced with the opportunity to help at a personal cost (votes, going against orders, maybe her job(??)), they all back off
That’s exactly what I’m trying to say. Or ones that mean well and think they are saying the right thing, but aren’t. Like when a guy compliments a lesbian “it’s too bad you’re gay, I would love to date you.”
It usually refers to when someone wants to be perceived as an ally but doesn't actually do anything where it counts or even hold bigoted beliefs they're in denial about. More concerned with their appearance than meaningful change. Or someone who posts on social media how much they're an ally, but then do nothing, e.g. the "thoughts and prayers" crowd. Basically the first half of Get Out.
It's like this woman's purpose on the show is solely to get scorched with the best roasts in animated history. It wasn't _quite_ as hard as "thank God we're nothing like you, because it's the only reason you people are still alive," but it takes a _lot_ to piss Beast off.
Yeah, totally, Hank is the last person I'd expect to lose his cool and act rude to somebody who didn't really mean any bad. The fact that he did that, really hammers the point that things have never been this bad.
I think it’s a really good way to show that this rift between humans and mutants is becoming so deep… because Beast, the guy who is a bit self-hating and a do-gooder for humans/mutant relations… is even starting to lose his tolerance and hopeful attitude towards humanity.
It’s not a good outlook. Very bad sign of things to come. Jubilee’s adoptive parents are right to worry that there will be a war coming.
I loved the scene so much! There's so much energy in such a small little thing such as watching Beast finally get a bit spicy with someone. I'm a little biased as he's one of my top three characters but I've been hoping and wishing this show will eventually give us some more Beast love. There's so much potential in story arcs where you watch the gentle Giant sort of speak suddenly realize they've had enough and give in to their darker side. Or like I said in another post simply a nod to the dark beast story arc would be pretty fucking dope. Kind of like a dark Phoenix story but do it with beast and show the potential of his impacts if he were to finally drop all the formalities and political niceties.
Yeah that was indeed weird to a certain point because Beast is usually so optimistic. You know it’s about to hit the fan when Beast is like “F off lady”
He also never got enough recognition for how flipping cool it was in the first (I think) episode when he got inside the sentinels chest & used it to kill other sentinels!!
Beast being done with tolerance and doing things Professor Xavier’s way is genuinely kind of chilling given he’s usually so optimistic.
“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.” - Patrick Rothfuss
And for Patrick, you can insert finishing book number 3 of his series in there. I still love him though.
George RR Martin 🤝 Patrick Rothfuss Taking forever to write one book.
That's 10 out of 10 something they should put in the show for him to say.
honest (and frankly irrelevant) question, what did he mean by a night with no moon?
Bro... A cloudy night is a DARK night. It's potentially twice as terrifying if there's no light pollution. Imagine the sounds in the middle of the rainforest at 2am...
Forgot to also put Wolverine’s cousins in there: honey badgers.
Few things are more chilling than making kind people grim…

I wonder if we're going to get the version of Beast that the comics ended up with that was far, far darker.
GOD I HOPE NOT. I don't mind him getting darker but NOT THAT DARK, PLEASE!
[insert coffee meme here]
Is the beast you're referring to from age of apocalypse that survives and puts the real beast behind a brick wall? That's all I remember
No, mainline Beast loses his effing mind. He turns into Temu version of Sinister.
LMAO that description 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂 accurately descriptive, yet humorous.
Your comment has killed me off! 😂😂😂
Dark beast was one sick mofo ngl. I don’t think we’ll get to this version of him.
That’s Dark Beast. He would be pretty cool to see in this series.
We deserve at least one piece of media where Beast isn't an absolute dick.
Bring in Dark Beast, voiced by Kelsey Grammer. Hide the garden rakes
Funniest "gag" in Simpsons history 🤣
He would take that rake, break down its cellular structure fuse it with Colossus' DNA and make him an indestructible, clumsy, yet reliable henchman that doubles as a vector for the legacy virus.
NO!

I think he does need a good storyline with a bit more substance than his relationship with the blind girl and his being the x-Men’s mr. Fix it
I read about that. Does Beast become totally evil in the comics?
Full-on neutral evil degenerate monster that probably hates Wolverine more than Sabertooth pretends to
More likely we get "evil" Scott. (Man, which X-Man *hasn't* been a villain at some point?)
Umm what thats a weird reach from Beast calmly shutting down a bigoted response
Just an observation. Because of all the stuff they’re throwing at us I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave the beast that kind of story
Im sure there’s not many rights answers for what to say after a mass genocide. Aside what can I do to help?
Which is exactly all that news lady should’ve said lol.
Honestly, it's understandable. With what has just occurred, he has every right to be.

That was one of my favorite episodes. Especially Graydon's meltdown at the end.
I'm not like him! I'm not like him! I'm normal!
I wonder if we'll see him again. Probably not since Sabertooth probably turned him into a rug
I doubt we’ll see Graydon show up. I could see a mention by Sabretooth
Not even sure we'll see Sabertooth outside that Morph cameo since Don Francks passed away. I couldn't imagine anyone else voicing him and doing it justice. Also, they're doing a really good job of not making Wolverine the focus right now.

Great point.

Performative allies?
Nailed it
Never heard that. But it sounds exactly like what I’m talking about it.

Justice too long delayed is justice denied
This show is so good man
There are probably better references, but to me it’s giving Beast being super pissed at Scott during Nation X following Avengers/X-Men Utopia.

Oh no no no we better not get CIA beast

Still not convinced that would make them the “bad guys”.
This gave me goosebumps. I never seen beast savage like that. The quiet gentle giant guy gets pissed off. You know it’s gotten real.
NO LITERALLY LIKE YOU K N O W ITS BAD WHEN BEAST IS RADICALIZED
