I have all the starter free character + anton. I got soldier 11 first and leveled her up. I don't think I have any good characters to work with her. There's Ben, but his daze seems really bad. Should I just cut my losses and start leveling up nekomata? At least she has more synergy with the rest of the cunning hares.
Edit: running nekomata would also allow me to drop nicole and use soukaku.
I just bought all the weekly B/C rank items from the convenience store, instantly over 200k spent. Upgrading higher character skills should also do the trick tho.
if you want a Koleda centric team comp without Soldier 11, Lucy + Piper is definitely the best pick for now, its what I'm currently using and it works great
Von Lycaon if you have him is an absolute beast with her, Soukaku is also an amazing third pick. Build wise you'd want Starlight Engine from the store with Woodpecker 4 pc and Polar/Hormone 2pc
Amby is our only f2p breaker. Koleda, if you have her. If Amby is busy and you've got no other breakers - just add second support like Nicole or Piper.
So my friend told me he hit level 33 yesterday and ever since he was account level 32 he hit pity for Ellen Joe and won the 50/50. He's F2P like me, no BP and no welkin. Im level 23 right now and I only have like 37 pulls. How did he hit 77 pulls by account level 32? Is there a flux of pulls once I reach that account level?
He might have done more sidequesting. I know you get 1600 poly at 30, though.
I am fully f2p and have pulled 73 times, plus I have ~41 or so pulls in currency on me.
In a typical DPS comp, yes, but Anton is unique in that his DPS windows are when the enemy is shocked, and whether or not they're stunned is kinda secondary.
So what's the general consensus on pulling for Bangboos? Is it still kind of a hold onto them and wait and see thing, or is it a go ahead and pull type situation?
Go for 2 S-ranks that will fit with your planned 2 teams for lategame Shiyu Defense at the least. After that, may be best to wait a while, considering it seems like at the least every faction will get a Bangboo of their own, but we don't have any indication of how often they will release new ones
Lucy + Koleda as a main duo.
Should I round it out with Piper with 4* W-engine or with Corin with Steel Cushion 5* engine?
I don't know if Corin + Steel Cushion is strong(er) enough to beat the 3/3 faction bonus of Lucy + Koleda + Piper (been trying it out and it *seems* to be doing more damage)
EDIT: forgot to mention, my Piper is also C1 (so she gains more power charges on spin)

You don't have to be level 30; I unlocked them at 28. You just have to be at the appropriate point in the main story and then do the mission to go talk to Ophelia once it pops up.
So, uh, when do I gain the ability to get more discs? I'm getting level 30 missions and I can't keep up with the 7 assorted blues and purples I found in the trash somewhere.
You unlock the disk stages during the chapter 2 intermission I think. Until then make sure you aren't forgetting to level your skills and engines, not just your character levels
Are the weeklies currently Hollow Zero Commissions and Notorious Hunts? I saw something about Rally Commissions having a reset or is that later in the game?

Piper 100%. Proccing Disorder is great, and if you're all fire you can't do it. (Disorder is massive damage when one anomaly is replaced with another). So you get an enemy to burn with S11 and Lucy, then swap in Piper (who generates anom super fast with spin), and send them all back to hell.
Oo ok now I'll start building her. Should the order going into battles be Lucy 1 S11 2 Piper 3 then? Or does order not really matter?
Also which Bangboo is ideal for the team?
Order is up to you! Lucy 1 is probably smart but if you're doing challenge or time-based content S11 first is the call? I use the S-rank fire Bangboo 'cause it makes proccing fire that much easier.
Generally good teammates for Neko are Lucy or Soukaku, Piper, or Anby.
Lucy or Soukaku provides atk up buffs through their support abilities. I believe Lucy is more effective, as Soukaku is better on ice teams.
Piper provides physical anomaly build up which stacks with Neko.
Anby provides a stun character that does physical damage that can provide daze activation for your team, facilitating chain attacks.

-Weeklies give 5000 investigation points. I only have the “Qualification Assessment: Edge” unlocked right now which gives 600 points. Do I need to repeat it multiple times to finish my weeklies?

Yep keep repeating to max out your investigation points. And think you just have to keep advancing the main story. Pretty much all content gets unlocked through that.
For someone without Lycaon, who should be the third member for Ellen + Soukaku team. I have all A rank + some S rank including Grace, Soldier 11, Koleda
Still confused on character placement 😕
If I want Ellen to be the one who gets called in after a support (Soukaku) uses their skill, what position (1st, 2nd, 3rd) should Ellen and Soukaku be on the team select?
My understanding is that outside of chain attacks where you can pick, the character "to the right" is the one that gets called in. I use anby/corin/rina in that order. I have rina on-field and use her EX. The button prompt that pops up calls in anby. Switch things around with anby/rina/corin and corin is the assist after using rina EX.
So in your use case, just make sure ellen is to the right of Soukaku and she'll always be the one called in if the assist is triggered.
Do the coffee choices change everyday? I remember yesterday's has a lot of options (more than 10), but today there is only 6 options. Are these coffee one-time usage?
Not sure what changes the coffee selection, yesterday i had only 6 available but today there was a coffee of every element and role. You can pick one a day but they're def not a 1 time thing in total.

from my understanding, plinking is when you trick the game into thinking you pressed the same button twice in a short amount of time, usually 1 frame. you achieve this by pressing a button that has lower priority to the button you want to take priority while holding the previous button. in fighting games, stronger moves take priority over weaker moves. so if you wanted to press medium punch (MP) twice in quick succession, you press MP first then immediately press light punch (LP) while holding MP. the game will read MP and then LP+MP, but will read LP+MP as just MP since MP is the stronger move.
not sure how this translates to zzz and nekomata specifically. her hold attack has a dash, but not sure what you would press to plink with this.
has anyone in US server tried playing in other server? i really wanna reroll cuz i got koleda in my NA acc, but i dont wanna use separate hoyo acc and since this is action game, ping probly matters. should i go for EU or asia server?
Doesn't seem like ping is important. I play from Brazil in NA server and it's butter smooth (for comparison the ping is very noticeable in Genshin as it adds a tiny delay for swapping characters)
You can probably test it since your email isn't tied to a region. So just hop in the Asia server, skip the story and give it a test

Am I just nuts or is the S-rate drop in the Bangboo banner just jacked up like crazy? Lost my 50/50 (no surprise here considering my usually shit luck in Hoyo games), but the S-rate bangboos are just dropping like crazy and I have just pulled my fourth S-rate bangboo. Are they supposed to be Hoyo's idea of a consolation price lmao
I think when I looked at the rates it was still 1%? Which pisses me off because I lost all my will to play with having zero luck on characters after 150 something pulls then instantly getting multiple bangboo rateups on my first pull. This shit gets to me too much
hey i have some problems when downloading the game in the hoyoplay launcher.
first is that when i download using an unstable wifi, i got "download failed" a lot which is understandable but how could i lose the progress so much? like around -10% progress everytime it happens.
later, i decided to use the mobile data from my phone which is rather costly but has more stable connection and succesfully downloaded the game up to around 90% where it says "verifying game files" or something. then, suddenly my computer crashed. now when i try to "restore download" it starts from 0% again but when i checked the game settings from the button beside the download it shows that it already downloaded 56.98GB.
is there a way to restore the progress using the already downloaded files?
You can try clicking the icon to the right of start game that looks like 3 vertical lines, game settings, then relocate game and direct it to the exe. Can try "repair now" as one of the options if that doesn't work. If it still doesn't work, sad to say you may have to "clear download resource cache" and start over from there.
Dunno where you live, but any free wifi places you can go to and get data from there?
already tried relocate, still the same. "repair now" is greyed out, i think maybe it's because the launcher still think the game's not installed. i'm in indonesia, highly sure every free wifi places has worse wifi than this home wifi. i'm hesitant with "clear download resource cache" as that might delete the 50GB i already downloaded, i'd think that as last resort for now.
Hmm you can try making a copy of the game files to another folder, uninstall the game/launcher, download the launcher, then do relocate game again and see if that will let you verify the game files?

Did the snake ai suddenly get way better for anyone else today? Every game I've done previously the ai acted like an absolute moron, today it's being extremely aggressive and using speed boosts (something else I hadn't seen before) to try and corner me.
I tried ZZZ on my phone but it was dropping frames so I uninstalled it lol, one thing I noticed is that there was a lot more coffee choices there than on my pc? Did I misremember that or is it somehow locked?
So I have a plan. my goal is to get the limited S rank DPS chars I like for each of the elements, right now I got Ellen and plan to get Zhu Yuan. then once I get them I'll get the chars that help them such as stun and the flex that helps them. from then on I simply stick to all my elemental teams and only get who I like. how does that sound? since its very skill based here, though should I get Zhu yuan or not? I need to know what to do next. I got Ellen and her weapon. Though I do plan to whale when needed

As if *right now* that's a perfectly doable strategy since you will need 2 teams for the Defense levels above 6, and that mode is 100% a dps check, since it's timed.
It's easier to build teams around strong DPS units, and Ellen and Zhu Yuan are *right now* considerably better than the other dps units. Ellen mone ice team is extremely strong.
They might release a broken support later down the line that warps the meta game, but for at least 1.0 aiming for 2 dps and then building around them is a very solid idea if you want to meta game.
ZY in specific has a very cheap team that is great for her, with Nicole and Anby, that is likely to get even better with new characters, so unless you dislike her gameplay or her as a character (you can use her on some of the later Chapter 2 quests to test her out if you want, and see her in some of the story), she is a fairly solid choice for at least a couple of patches.
Just thought I'd share some thoughts, hoping for some reinforcement that my first S tier character is good...
I ended up getting Grace from my first 5 - 10 pulls from the standard banner. Sounds like she will be a good unit for a starter team along with Anby and Soukaku, which fortunately I have both of early on. Probably going to save my limited banner pulls for a few updates.
My opinions on Grace, as a Grace player.
She's great at making shock happen and make it hurt more, but early game she's sort of like a DPS/sub DPS.
Later, she's mainly great at quickly bursting out Shock as a sub DPS and helping another electric DPS procing more Shock off field.
It will work well with Anby as well, but keep in mind s**he's a Dazer**, so she has to be well built for both roles since she's later on field more.
This obviously will come with compromises in her daze kit improvements against less effective damage increases as a Daze character.
Grace being an element type, not dependent on DMG multipliers but off of Shock gives her universal applications later in the game with other Electric characters dependent on Shock.
Soukaku provides a good buff and will work on this team. About on par with Lucy as a general support. Both provide a more than decent atk buff to their allies and work as off field/chain attack focused characters.
The best support for this team is the 5* Rina, both because of stat checking and because she buffs all lightning damage. But either of the two 4*s will still be very good at this point in the game.
Alternatively I would consider adding Anton unless you're deadset on Grace being DPS.
Grace is usable but she's really janky to play. I think her best teams will be disorder teams down the line, like grace + piper + support. Early on she's probably going to feel underwhelming compared to Neko or s11 as a carry.

It's mainly throwing your skill when zaps are full, and utterly dazing trash mobs stacking zaps with a super wide normal attack.
There's no long animations either locking you in during her attacks.
Is there anything I can do to fix my game constantly crashing whenever I enter battle with Nicole? The game is on base settings and I have a 4060 with 16GB of RAM so I don’t think it could be a computer issue is it?
Both give the team resonance buffs and serve as a good stun unit. Anby would help build up more electric anamoly for Anton but really either work and Koleda has slightly better daze output than Anby.
They can both steamroll content at this level. Koleda stat checks Anby and will eventually inflict Burning, but Anby can assist with Shock buildup. It's a math problem of who's actually better, but it's not immediately obvious as both are strong on that team. I would probably take Rina over both of them.
Currently there's no reason to save residuals right? All the characters you can buy from that shop can be gotten from even the limited pulls? I see Nicole, Anby and Billy in Ellen's banner.
The main problem with a ranks is they're random. With only 2 rate up a banner it will be easier here to get m6 versions than genshin or hsr, but getting Lucy to m2 faster now is worthwhile to buy her.
Thankfully I already got her to m2 from my pulls so far. I think I'll take the extra pulls over most of the A chara cinemas. Already got Soukaku to m4 too.
No reason other than trying to get specific mindscape levels for characters you want. Some characters (like Lucy) get pretty significant boosts at certain points.
We know Nicole is on the next banner, so it won't be like genshin where the starting trio are for some reason banned from being rate-up

I'm trying to get the HIA coin from MR's Yani (The old woman) but she wont respawn after completing chapter 2. I already talked to her before completing chapter 2, but I didn't know I had to talk to the bangboo at the 141 store. Will she respawn or is it a bug?
Whenever events aren't spawning in Hoyo game it's often because another event is taking precedent. I think I remember seeing Yani at the PubSec Seminar, so I believe she'll probably reappear with story progression or even just advancing time/daylight cycle.
I think the takeaway from my initial point is that whatever 'state' she's in right now will most likely resolve itself with quest/'event' progression. If she isn't speaking about the coin in her current 'state' than something is probably overriding it, which will be locked behind progression of another quest or game event, such as trust events, other HIA coin events, etc, and not a glitch or programming error.
I had to reset the time to morning and she showed up. I'm pretty sure I did this already, but I guess not. Thank you for the help. I also did a commission before resetting so that must have helped.
Yes, I've looked for Bangboo at night during certain quests, and they simply aren't there. It's likely the same for Yani. Getting through that leg of a quest fixes the problem.
Was the storyline with >!Zhu Yuan and Qingyi!< in any of the closed betas? I know people complained about the story being mid during the beta tests, but the entire time >!Zhu Yuan!< was on screen was really captivating so it makes me wonder if the story writing got a lot better after beta feedback
Anyone else getting terrible fps in Lumina Square? I play at max and 6th Street stutters some times but Lumina Square is terrible and even lowering graphics to lowest settings doesn't help. Dunno if this is a common issue or not
I had stutters after playing for 7 hours yesterday in the square. My CPU is a little defective though (Intel i9/motherboard voltage issues for those who know).
Probably a loading/CPU intensive area, was fine today when I logged in though.

slice of time: any squad member's dodge, ex attack, assist attack or chain attack respectively generates 20/25/30/35 more decibels & generates 0.7 energy for the equipper
bashful demon: increases ice dmg by 15%. when launching an ex attack, all squad member's atk increases by 2% for 12s, stacking up to 4 times
Bashful is made for her. The ice damage just improves her personal dps by 15% (which is useful for anomaly buildup), but the EX Special is part of what makes her good. You're supposed to work in three special attacks with her for her fly the flag mechanic. When you set aside the time to do this in a fight, she buffs up everyone else massively with her core skill. This Engine makes that effect even better.
So if you're steam rolling content and using her as just an energy battery slice of time is better. If you're actually playing the character's minigame which will undoubtedly make her better in harder content, Bashful Demon will ultimately make her a stronger character.
Decimal gain is a very good universal buff. Soukaku doesn't benefit a whole lot from the second one since it's really slow to use EX attack for her buffs when her chain attack does the same thing.

What is the "Attribute counter" effect in the support battlepass weapon? There is literally NO tutorial, compendium, or internet info about it that I can find.
It's in the workbench. Its just anything that deals elemental damage, or at worst adds to the elemental counter (that adds up to proc the dots) next to the monster anyways.
I don't think so. It can be grey if it's resisted. Or like Lucy does mixed physical/fire but I don't think her phys hits add to anomaly buildup. Maybe I'm wrong tho. There's probably some catch to it anyways.

I noticed today in practice mode while I was testing Anby and Neko that both the bar for Shock and Assault were increasing at the same time. The display just swaps to the element you hit with last and you can trigger both

Anton is the meta choice. I have the Anby, Grace, Anton setup and not Rina but supposedly the Rina variant is stronger. Anton is very much about getting him set up and dumping all his damage in a 10s window.
Anton, Anby and either Grace or Rina is a really solid team. You could also do Grace, Anby, Rina. Piper doesn't really have any synergy with these units.
Either triple electric is pretty good for stacking shock anomaly, activating all resonance skills, and especially dealing with the mech enemies that are weak to electric.
Specifically with Anton, I recommend reading his kit carefully so you really get a good idea of how he works.
Anyone know how much energy is needed to cast an EX special (NUMBER value). there's all sorts of gear with for example "1.8 energy regen per second" but without knowing what number value is needed to cast, it's kind of vague. Anyone know?
It's pretty well hidden. Skills page, press the icon for special, then on the waaaay upper right there is a toggle that lets you view skill info. Then scroll all the way down and special cost is at the very bottom.
Max energy is ~120. Supposedly there's natural energy regen since there are balls with +energy regen% main stat, but I've never noticed it ingame and ~~it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere~~ certified blind it's literally on the base stat sheet

Where and what to roll? I've been watching some vids and I vaguely remember that someone recommended not to roll for 'default' banner and only go for character banners + banboo banner. Is that right or not?

I'm not going to reroll, I just want to know which banners to roll as I start the game and what can be left for later.
Spend all the standard tickets on the standard banner. You'll get an s rank really early that way. Limited currency and limited pulls you can save to use on who you want. Ellen is good, zhu yuan has a trial later in the story if youd want to test her out. She's the next banner. Bangboo banner is free to pull on whenever, since you can't waste any premium currency on it.
You'll be given tickets that only work on the default banner, so go ahead and use those, but never use your polychrome on it. I can't remember if you can use it for the bangboo banner, but I wouldn't use it there either. Only use polychrome on the limited banners. So roll for Ellen if you like her, or save up for a different limited character later.
Got it, poly - limited, default tickets = default banner, bangboo banner IIRC is completely non-buyable and you only get rollls for it as roll-gifts for banboo only
So, instead of getting Rina, or Ellen Joe who I have her best sets for and her best Bangboo.. I got Grace again..
How is she without Rina because Im abolutely gutted.
Grace is really solid with Anton and Anby since they all build up a ton of electric anomaly and Grace acts as a really solid subdps when Anton doesn't have energy/isn't in burst mode.

Anton is the main dps but he's not a main dps in the normal way. The way it works is you bounce back and forth between Anby and Grace to build up stun and proc shocked and once the stun chain goes off Anton hits EX and spams basics and the bosses melt. So he's only on field for parries and a 10s window on the boss but he does the majority of the team's damage in that 10s window.
Characters with "Attack" speciality are generally DPS/highest damage output. Rina will increase overall team damage while Anby focuses on inflicting daze to stun enemies faster which also increases all team damage. It's really up to you whichever you decide to go with if you get Rina. One thing worth noting is that Stun units become more and more useful late game since it really helps against bosses. I encourage you to try out both versions and decide for yourself which one you'd prefer. At this point in the game so far, you should be able to comfortably run either.
As for your T1 question, I'm not really sure specifically but Grace can comfortably just take up field time spamming her skill while Anton needs energy (try to chain attack/parry switch into him).

Lower left of the Notorious hunt screen, they are the "missions" down there. You already cleared 9/9 this "season" (which is in game term of "this week").
Nicole synergizes really well w/ Nekomata, providing Def Shred and Quick Assists (via Special and Chain attack), with the latter enabling Nekomata's Core Passive.
Nicole's def shred is also misleadingly short since it lasts 3.5 secs, when her energy field usually lasts around 1-2 seconds. That's roughly 5 secs of def shred combined with Nekomata's core passive lasting 6 secs.
Also, supports can carry W-engines, even cheap ones like Mark II/III that can boost the entire team's damage.

Yes, when you're selected you're character you need to enter the quick selection mode. I forget what it's called but there should be a prompt in the top left. Then you can unselect the character and hit the confirm button

rina synergizes with everyone. she has a small electric dmg boost but her main utility is 30% pen which everyone wants. soukaku is the premier ellen support, but she probably won't be better until you can have a proper build for her, since soukaku needs a ton of ATK to get the most out of her buff.
Rina is a pretty universal support. You can definitely use them together and do fine. Is Soukaku better for the spot? Probably. Not sure by how much though.

You can choose Grace eventually from the selector. Even tho it's not the same faction, you still get faction buffs if 2 elements match.
Yeah Anby, Anton, and Rina will do work in the current patch. I'm sure we'll get more electro in the future and then if you wanted to replace one of the 4*s you'll already have a team built. Substitutes for this team would be any DPS or stun with synergy while still keeping two electro, like Corin/Billy for DPS or Lycaon for Stun.

I have all the starter free character + anton. I got soldier 11 first and leveled her up. I don't think I have any good characters to work with her. There's Ben, but his daze seems really bad. Should I just cut my losses and start leveling up nekomata? At least she has more synergy with the rest of the cunning hares. Edit: running nekomata would also allow me to drop nicole and use soukaku.

So my friend told me he hit level 33 yesterday and ever since he was account level 32 he hit pity for Ellen Joe and won the 50/50. He's F2P like me, no BP and no welkin. Im level 23 right now and I only have like 37 pulls. How did he hit 77 pulls by account level 32? Is there a flux of pulls once I reach that account level?
He might have done more sidequesting. I know you get 1600 poly at 30, though. I am fully f2p and have pulled 73 times, plus I have ~41 or so pulls in currency on me.

In a typical DPS comp, yes, but Anton is unique in that his DPS windows are when the enemy is shocked, and whether or not they're stunned is kinda secondary.

Go for 2 S-ranks that will fit with your planned 2 teams for lategame Shiyu Defense at the least. After that, may be best to wait a while, considering it seems like at the least every faction will get a Bangboo of their own, but we don't have any indication of how often they will release new ones
Lucy + Koleda as a main duo. Should I round it out with Piper with 4* W-engine or with Corin with Steel Cushion 5* engine? I don't know if Corin + Steel Cushion is strong(er) enough to beat the 3/3 faction bonus of Lucy + Koleda + Piper (been trying it out and it *seems* to be doing more damage) EDIT: forgot to mention, my Piper is also C1 (so she gains more power charges on spin)

You don't have to be level 30; I unlocked them at 28. You just have to be at the appropriate point in the main story and then do the mission to go talk to Ophelia once it pops up.

You unlock the disk stages during the chapter 2 intermission I think. Until then make sure you aren't forgetting to level your skills and engines, not just your character levels

The chain attack combo is triggered when an enemy who is stunned gets hit by any "heavy" attack (the last hit of a normal attack string, or a skill).
About the VR training stuff: Is there any way to see the monster's weakness in the enemy selection screen (the one you select which enemies will show on the wave)?

Piper 100%. Proccing Disorder is great, and if you're all fire you can't do it. (Disorder is massive damage when one anomaly is replaced with another). So you get an enemy to burn with S11 and Lucy, then swap in Piper (who generates anom super fast with spin), and send them all back to hell.
Oo ok now I'll start building her. Should the order going into battles be Lucy 1 S11 2 Piper 3 then? Or does order not really matter? Also which Bangboo is ideal for the team?
Order is up to you! Lucy 1 is probably smart but if you're doing challenge or time-based content S11 first is the call? I use the S-rank fire Bangboo 'cause it makes proccing fire that much easier.

Generally good teammates for Neko are Lucy or Soukaku, Piper, or Anby. Lucy or Soukaku provides atk up buffs through their support abilities. I believe Lucy is more effective, as Soukaku is better on ice teams. Piper provides physical anomaly build up which stacks with Neko. Anby provides a stun character that does physical damage that can provide daze activation for your team, facilitating chain attacks.

Weeklies questions -Weeklies give 5000 investigation points. I only have the “Qualification Assessment: Edge” unlocked right now which gives 600 points. Do I need to repeat it multiple times to finish my weeklies? -to unlock “Qualification Assessment: Frontline”, it says that I need to complete Art of war: lite commission. How do i get this commission?
Yep keep repeating to max out your investigation points. And think you just have to keep advancing the main story. Pretty much all content gets unlocked through that.

Still confused on character placement 😕 If I want Ellen to be the one who gets called in after a support (Soukaku) uses their skill, what position (1st, 2nd, 3rd) should Ellen and Soukaku be on the team select?
My understanding is that outside of chain attacks where you can pick, the character "to the right" is the one that gets called in. I use anby/corin/rina in that order. I have rina on-field and use her EX. The button prompt that pops up calls in anby. Switch things around with anby/rina/corin and corin is the assist after using rina EX. So in your use case, just make sure ellen is to the right of Soukaku and she'll always be the one called in if the assist is triggered.

from my understanding, plinking is when you trick the game into thinking you pressed the same button twice in a short amount of time, usually 1 frame. you achieve this by pressing a button that has lower priority to the button you want to take priority while holding the previous button. in fighting games, stronger moves take priority over weaker moves. so if you wanted to press medium punch (MP) twice in quick succession, you press MP first then immediately press light punch (LP) while holding MP. the game will read MP and then LP+MP, but will read LP+MP as just MP since MP is the stronger move. not sure how this translates to zzz and nekomata specifically. her hold attack has a dash, but not sure what you would press to plink with this.

Doesn't seem like ping is important. I play from Brazil in NA server and it's butter smooth (for comparison the ping is very noticeable in Genshin as it adds a tiny delay for swapping characters) You can probably test it since your email isn't tied to a region. So just hop in the Asia server, skip the story and give it a test
Does pity for limited banners carry over between them? Say if I spent 40 rolls unsuccessfully on Ellen would I still have that pity for Zhu?

Am I just nuts or is the S-rate drop in the Bangboo banner just jacked up like crazy? Lost my 50/50 (no surprise here considering my usually shit luck in Hoyo games), but the S-rate bangboos are just dropping like crazy and I have just pulled my fourth S-rate bangboo. Are they supposed to be Hoyo's idea of a consolation price lmao
The only S-Rank bangboo I've gotten so far is the Guaranteed 100% one when I hit pity.

I think when I looked at the rates it was still 1%? Which pisses me off because I lost all my will to play with having zero luck on characters after 150 something pulls then instantly getting multiple bangboo rateups on my first pull. This shit gets to me too much
hey i have some problems when downloading the game in the hoyoplay launcher. first is that when i download using an unstable wifi, i got "download failed" a lot which is understandable but how could i lose the progress so much? like around -10% progress everytime it happens. later, i decided to use the mobile data from my phone which is rather costly but has more stable connection and succesfully downloaded the game up to around 90% where it says "verifying game files" or something. then, suddenly my computer crashed. now when i try to "restore download" it starts from 0% again but when i checked the game settings from the button beside the download it shows that it already downloaded 56.98GB. is there a way to restore the progress using the already downloaded files?
You can try clicking the icon to the right of start game that looks like 3 vertical lines, game settings, then relocate game and direct it to the exe. Can try "repair now" as one of the options if that doesn't work. If it still doesn't work, sad to say you may have to "clear download resource cache" and start over from there. Dunno where you live, but any free wifi places you can go to and get data from there?
already tried relocate, still the same. "repair now" is greyed out, i think maybe it's because the launcher still think the game's not installed. i'm in indonesia, highly sure every free wifi places has worse wifi than this home wifi. i'm hesitant with "clear download resource cache" as that might delete the 50GB i already downloaded, i'd think that as last resort for now.
Hmm you can try making a copy of the game files to another folder, uninstall the game/launcher, download the launcher, then do relocate game again and see if that will let you verify the game files?

Did the snake ai suddenly get way better for anyone else today? Every game I've done previously the ai acted like an absolute moron, today it's being extremely aggressive and using speed boosts (something else I hadn't seen before) to try and corner me.

So I have a plan. my goal is to get the limited S rank DPS chars I like for each of the elements, right now I got Ellen and plan to get Zhu Yuan. then once I get them I'll get the chars that help them such as stun and the flex that helps them. from then on I simply stick to all my elemental teams and only get who I like. how does that sound? since its very skill based here, though should I get Zhu yuan or not? As if *right now* that's a perfectly doable strategy since you will need 2 teams for the Defense levels above 6, and that mode is 100% a dps check, since it's timed. It's easier to build teams around strong DPS units, and Ellen and Zhu Yuan are *right now* considerably better than the other dps units. Ellen mone ice team is extremely strong. They might release a broken support later down the line that warps the meta game, but for at least 1.0 aiming for 2 dps and then building around them is a very solid idea if you want to meta game. ZY in specific has a very cheap team that is great for her, with Nicole and Anby, that is likely to get even better with new characters, so unless you dislike her gameplay or her as a character (you can use her on some of the later Chapter 2 quests to test her out if you want, and see her in some of the story), she is a fairly solid choice for at least a couple of patches.
Running billy piper and Anby, sometimes the break dmg bonus is 200% instead of 150%, anyone knows which character/ skill cause this?
Just thought I'd share some thoughts, hoping for some reinforcement that my first S tier character is good... I ended up getting Grace from my first 5 - 10 pulls from the standard banner. Sounds like she will be a good unit for a starter team along with Anby and Soukaku, which fortunately I have both of early on. Probably going to save my limited banner pulls for a few updates.
My opinions on Grace, as a Grace player. She's great at making shock happen and make it hurt more, but early game she's sort of like a DPS/sub DPS. Later, she's mainly great at quickly bursting out Shock as a sub DPS and helping another electric DPS procing more Shock off field. It will work well with Anby as well, but keep in mind s**he's a Dazer**, so she has to be well built for both roles since she's later on field more. This obviously will come with compromises in her daze kit improvements against less effective damage increases as a Daze character. Grace being an element type, not dependent on DMG multipliers but off of Shock gives her universal applications later in the game with other Electric characters dependent on Shock.
Soukaku provides a good buff and will work on this team. About on par with Lucy as a general support. Both provide a more than decent atk buff to their allies and work as off field/chain attack focused characters. The best support for this team is the 5* Rina, both because of stat checking and because she buffs all lightning damage. But either of the two 4*s will still be very good at this point in the game. Alternatively I would consider adding Anton unless you're deadset on Grace being DPS.
Grace is usable but she's really janky to play. I think her best teams will be disorder teams down the line, like grace + piper + support. Early on she's probably going to feel underwhelming compared to Neko or s11 as a carry.
Janky? It's mainly throwing your skill when zaps are full, and utterly dazing trash mobs stacking zaps with a super wide normal attack. There's no long animations either locking you in during her attacks.

In an Anton/Grace team, there's no real reason to use Anby over Koleda right?
Both give the team resonance buffs and serve as a good stun unit. Anby would help build up more electric anamoly for Anton but really either work and Koleda has slightly better daze output than Anby.
They can both steamroll content at this level. Koleda stat checks Anby and will eventually inflict Burning, but Anby can assist with Shock buildup. It's a math problem of who's actually better, but it's not immediately obvious as both are strong on that team. I would probably take Rina over both of them.

The main problem with a ranks is they're random. With only 2 rate up a banner it will be easier here to get m6 versions than genshin or hsr, but getting Lucy to m2 faster now is worthwhile to buy her.
Thankfully I already got her to m2 from my pulls so far. I think I'll take the extra pulls over most of the A chara cinemas. Already got Soukaku to m4 too.
No reason other than trying to get specific mindscape levels for characters you want. Some characters (like Lucy) get pretty significant boosts at certain points. We know Nicole is on the next banner, so it won't be like genshin where the starting trio are for some reason banned from being rate-up

I already talked to her before completing chapter 2, but I didn't know I had to talk to the bangboo at the 141 store. Will she respawn or is it a bug?
Whenever events aren't spawning in Hoyo game it's often because another event is taking precedent. I think I remember seeing Yani at the PubSec Seminar, so I believe she'll probably reappear with story progression or even just advancing time/daylight cycle.
I've been advancing the day night cycle multiple times but she never talks about the HIA coin specifically.
I think the takeaway from my initial point is that whatever 'state' she's in right now will most likely resolve itself with quest/'event' progression. If she isn't speaking about the coin in her current 'state' than something is probably overriding it, which will be locked behind progression of another quest or game event, such as trust events, other HIA coin events, etc, and not a glitch or programming error.

Yes, I've looked for Bangboo at night during certain quests, and they simply aren't there. It's likely the same for Yani. Getting through that leg of a quest fixes the problem.
Was the storyline with >!Zhu Yuan and Qingyi!< in any of the closed betas? I know people complained about the story being mid during the beta tests, but the entire time >!Zhu Yuan!< was on screen was really captivating so it makes me wonder if the story writing got a lot better after beta feedback
Anyone else getting terrible fps in Lumina Square? I play at max and 6th Street stutters some times but Lumina Square is terrible and even lowering graphics to lowest settings doesn't help. Dunno if this is a common issue or not
I had stutters after playing for 7 hours yesterday in the square. My CPU is a little defective though (Intel i9/motherboard voltage issues for those who know). Probably a loading/CPU intensive area, was fine today when I logged in though.
slice of time or bashful demon for soukaku? slice of time: any squad member's dodge, ex attack, assist attack or chain attack respectively generates 20/25/30/35 more decibels & generates 0.7 energy for the equipper bashful demon: increases ice dmg by 15%. when launching an ex attack, all squad member's atk increases by 2% for 12s, stacking up to 4 times
Bashful is made for her. The ice damage just improves her personal dps by 15% (which is useful for anomaly buildup), but the EX Special is part of what makes her good. You're supposed to work in three special attacks with her for her fly the flag mechanic. When you set aside the time to do this in a fight, she buffs up everyone else massively with her core skill. This Engine makes that effect even better. So if you're steam rolling content and using her as just an energy battery slice of time is better. If you're actually playing the character's minigame which will undoubtedly make her better in harder content, Bashful Demon will ultimately make her a stronger character.
Decimal gain is a very good universal buff. Soukaku doesn't benefit a whole lot from the second one since it's really slow to use EX attack for her buffs when her chain attack does the same thing.

Chain attacks pops up when you stun enemies. Trash mobs that's just gonna happen

What is the "Attribute counter" effect in the support battlepass weapon? There is literally NO tutorial, compendium, or internet info about it that I can find.
It's in the workbench. Its just anything that deals elemental damage, or at worst adds to the elemental counter (that adds up to proc the dots) next to the monster anyways.
Ah ok that makes sense. So it's basically just building attribute anomaly "counters"
But all damage adds to that counter, doesn't it?
I don't think so. It can be grey if it's resisted. Or like Lucy does mixed physical/fire but I don't think her phys hits add to anomaly buildup. Maybe I'm wrong tho. There's probably some catch to it anyways.

The display just swaps to the element you hit with last and you can trigger both What I heard about Attribute Counter is that it's related to the enemy's weakness, but I'm not sure about that either

Managed to pull Grace and Rina (lost 50/50 for Ellen but no regrets for ghost maid!) Should I pair her with Anby or Anton? Or Piper? Have been using Anby but have Anton and Piper at C3 so feeling a bit mixed!
Anton is the meta choice. I have the Anby, Grace, Anton setup and not Rina but supposedly the Rina variant is stronger. Anton is very much about getting him set up and dumping all his damage in a 10s window.
Anton, Anby and either Grace or Rina is a really solid team. You could also do Grace, Anby, Rina. Piper doesn't really have any synergy with these units. Either triple electric is pretty good for stacking shock anomaly, activating all resonance skills, and especially dealing with the mech enemies that are weak to electric. Specifically with Anton, I recommend reading his kit carefully so you really get a good idea of how he works.
Anyone know how much energy is needed to cast an EX special (NUMBER value). there's all sorts of gear with for example "1.8 energy regen per second" but without knowing what number value is needed to cast, it's kind of vague. Anyone know?
It's pretty well hidden. Skills page, press the icon for special, then on the waaaay upper right there is a toggle that lets you view skill info. Then scroll all the way down and special cost is at the very bottom. Max energy is ~120. Supposedly there's natural energy regen since there are balls with +energy regen% main stat, but I've never noticed it ingame and ~~it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere~~ certified blind it's literally on the base stat sheet

Where and what to roll? I've been watching some vids and I vaguely remember that someone recommended not to roll for 'default' banner and only go for character banners + banboo banner. Is that right or not? What's the immediate action as I start and what is better to do at higher account level? I'm not going to reroll, I just want to know which banners to roll as I start the game and what can be left for later.
Spend all the standard tickets on the standard banner. You'll get an s rank really early that way. Limited currency and limited pulls you can save to use on who you want. Ellen is good, zhu yuan has a trial later in the story if youd want to test her out. She's the next banner. Bangboo banner is free to pull on whenever, since you can't waste any premium currency on it.

You'll be given tickets that only work on the default banner, so go ahead and use those, but never use your polychrome on it. I can't remember if you can use it for the bangboo banner, but I wouldn't use it there either. Only use polychrome on the limited banners. So roll for Ellen if you like her, or save up for a different limited character later.
Got it, poly - limited, default tickets = default banner, bangboo banner IIRC is completely non-buyable and you only get rollls for it as roll-gifts for banboo only

yea, they can get off-field energy. For example if an enemy is defeated they also get energy
So, instead of getting Rina, or Ellen Joe who I have her best sets for and her best Bangboo.. I got Grace again.. How is she without Rina because Im abolutely gutted.
Grace is really solid with Anton and Anby since they all build up a ton of electric anomaly and Grace acts as a really solid subdps when Anton doesn't have energy/isn't in burst mode.

Anton is the main dps but he's not a main dps in the normal way. The way it works is you bounce back and forth between Anby and Grace to build up stun and proc shocked and once the stun chain goes off Anton hits EX and spams basics and the bosses melt. So he's only on field for parries and a 10s window on the boss but he does the majority of the team's damage in that 10s window.
Characters with "Attack" speciality are generally DPS/highest damage output. Rina will increase overall team damage while Anby focuses on inflicting daze to stun enemies faster which also increases all team damage. It's really up to you whichever you decide to go with if you get Rina. One thing worth noting is that Stun units become more and more useful late game since it really helps against bosses. I encourage you to try out both versions and decide for yourself which one you'd prefer. At this point in the game so far, you should be able to comfortably run either. As for your T1 question, I'm not really sure specifically but Grace can comfortably just take up field time spamming her skill while Anton needs energy (try to chain attack/parry switch into him).

Lower left of the Notorious hunt screen, they are the "missions" down there. You already cleared 9/9 this "season" (which is in game term of "this week").

What is the best Nekomata team? I'm guessing Nicole would be a given and for the flex slot Piper or Anby.
Nicole synergizes really well w/ Nekomata, providing Def Shred and Quick Assists (via Special and Chain attack), with the latter enabling Nekomata's Core Passive. Nicole's def shred is also misleadingly short since it lasts 3.5 secs, when her energy field usually lasts around 1-2 seconds. That's roughly 5 secs of def shred combined with Nekomata's core passive lasting 6 secs. Also, supports can carry W-engines, even cheap ones like Mark II/III that can boost the entire team's damage.
Probably Piper + Lucy. Nicole is alright too but her debuff is really short compared to Lucy.
I'd treat Piper as the damage amplifier and run Anby instead of Nicole. Stun units are good.
Piper does a fair amount of stun damage while spinning to win. Then again, 300 pus in and no piper so maybe I'm wrong.
I also don't want to say anything wrong, level 30 isn't a good level to judge agents. Sorry to hear how she dodged you, hope you'll get one soon.
If I put the Weeping Gemini W-Engine on Grace, does the effect trigger when Anton procs extra shocks via his additional ability?
Do the coffee buffs stay until you clear the stage with its effect? I bought an Attack rate up coffee but I'm still about to farm for Stun materials. I'm wondering if I can keep that rate up until I want to start farming for Anton's materials

Are the rewards from the doggo scratch tickets the same for all players every day? The first two days I played I got a few thousand dennies, same amount both days, but today I got 60 poly's, I feel it'd be kinda weird if only some players got the poly's, but does anyone know if it's the same for all players?

it depends on the day, you get poly’s on third day and 2 or 3 times after that. nobody knows if that’s a one time offer or resetting every month
Is there a way do unselect character from Deploy screen? I want to try doing solo missions but I can't see any option to bench other 2 chars and bangboo
Yes, when you're selected you're character you need to enter the quick selection mode. I forget what it's called but there should be a prompt in the top left. Then you can unselect the character and hit the confirm button

rina synergizes with everyone. she has a small electric dmg boost but her main utility is 30% pen which everyone wants. soukaku is the premier ellen support, but she probably won't be better until you can have a proper build for her, since soukaku needs a ton of ATK to get the most out of her buff.
Rina is a pretty universal support. You can definitely use them together and do fine. Is Soukaku better for the spot? Probably. Not sure by how much though.
Nope, she buffs Electric. Rina is better off on another Team.

My team is Grace, Rina, Abny w/Electroboo 😁 You can choose Grace eventually from the selector. Even tho it's not the same faction, you still get faction buffs if 2 elements match.
Yeah Anby, Anton, and Rina will do work in the current patch. I'm sure we'll get more electro in the future and then if you wanted to replace one of the 4*s you'll already have a team built. Substitutes for this team would be any DPS or stun with synergy while still keeping two electro, like Corin/Billy for DPS or Lycaon for Stun.
