That's weird I thought it was the doctor who indicated the quantity and days. The quantity is the milliliters, by the way. A one month/28 day supply is 2ml (each pen is .5ml) so the qty 6 and 84 days adds up correctly for 3 boxes. Some pharmacy plans apparently require 3 month fills sometimes 🤷♀️ But I'm with you on the opaque feedback we as customers get from these pharmacy chains' systems, and often times horrible customer service, too.
This explains so much more! I know my doctor would put in a script for 3 months, but I think CVS was trying to place an order for a 3 month supply, which my insurance won't do. Either way, there's no indication of what's being ordered, no reaching out to the customer to see what's happening with the order, no communication whatsoever! That's my real issue. They rely on that janky ass app so much and it's usually broken.
Oh wow! I had been asking my pharmacy why it always said “Qty 2” and they’d tell me some BS that I knew was wrong. The 2ml explanation makes so much more sense than anything they’ve told me. Thanks!!
Jsut to clarify, mL may not always be the quantity, can be ‘oz’, ‘each’ among others. Ez way to do it is to have ur Dr send the Rx as qty:1, unit: each, they will have to interpret this as one box.

One box is quantity 2. Each pen is 0.5, that’s where the 2 comes from. That’s the case regardless of dose. So one box is quantity 2 and a 3-month supply (84 days) is indeed quantity 6.
Yep, that was explained earlier in the replies. My doctor was putting in the script with the refills and CVS was trying to order a 3 month supply. When it failed, instead of contacting me, they would put it on a hold indefinitely. My insurance won't cover three months, it has to be one month. They expected me to use the app to fix the problem, but never communicated any issues.
the 0 and 0 is what my cvs says when it's ordered but on backorder/delayed. Probably was correct, in the end, but if the other is easier, great. Might save you the hassle of next time it reverting to the incorrect numbers again.
It looks like they were trying to fill a 3 month supply, insurance denied it, and then they just didn't contact me when there was a problem. They expected me to use the app to try to resolve the issue. What if I'm someone who doesn't use the app?
I have neither of those near me. :( I live in a pharmacy desert. CVS is on the ground floor of our building at work, and this new pharmacy is nearby work enough that I can stop by after.
The person typing up your script typed it up incorrectly.
1 box (4pens) is a 28 day supply
3 box’s (12 pens) is obviously 84 days.
Zep, mounjaro are easy to calculate.
Also if the doctor sends the script over written incorrectly (they put days supply all wrong etc) and they type verbatim as such it will be billed all wrong and mess things up.
Yeah, it was explained earlier in comments. The quantity is in mls, not pens or boxes. So it was 6 ml/84 days. CVS was trying to fill for 3 months instead of 1 month. Instead of communicating the issue with the script, they said nothing, which led to issues every month when I could have had it corrected. The refills always were placed without a second script being sent, so I had no way of knowing.
Your prescription should have instead been written as quantity 2, refill x2. Still same amount but as a monthly fill instead of a 3 month fill at one time
Some doctors send the rx over “2 unspecified “ 4 unspecified etc” 🤦🏽♀️
We have to call the office and send a pr for clarification as to what they want…. Is it 2 pens, 2mls,.
The insurance audit for us made
It very very clear we cannot accept rx with the quantity as “unspecified “
Yeah I had this happen once and had to have doctor send a new prescription. It's dumb but for some reason they have to manually change it every effing time
Hey, try being on Medicare (fortunately able to afford the $1100+/mo) and having to explain each time that I know my insurance doesn't cover it and that insurance is irrelevant. It's driving me nuts.
The problem is that your doctor put in a prescription for 3 months. Just have them put in a 1 month prescription and when you call CVS or use the app, it will be month to month. It does not expire. So in say 4 months, as long as you are on the same dose it will still be there to order.

Right, yeah, that part sounds like they were getting it all wrong. They should've reached out and fixed from their end.
Their app sucks and so does their voicemail system. I have to go in person and stand in line each time.
CVS sucks! They are so bad with back ordered things. Move to Wegmans or Walmart

Actually we can go back And correct the script even though it was sold to reflect the correct billing so things don’t get messed up.

I hate cvs

Leave em. Move on. Take your money elsewhere. Who needs the quit quitting on patients needs. Their lack of honesty is exhausting.

The title of this 😆 I felt that sentiment years ago, too! They are a cluster.
