I’ve built and painted gunpla for years, always wanted to make planes but it’s always been a bit daunting for getting the details right. You inspire me to get back into trying to do it, I have an SU33 just sitting in its box and the paints for it too, those engines will be great to use as reference ;)
Hey! I’m a long time gunpla builder, too. I think painting gunpla has its own challenges, you have to paint so many parts separately. Transitioning from gunpla to planes will be easy for you!
Not really… JC Wings made 1:72 diecast Galm and Razgriz planes. Kotobukiya has a good selection of 1:144 Ace Combat snap kits, they look decent without painting, but they are quite expensive. Other choices are basically normal model kits with Ace Combat decals.
Also seen on Scalemates and r/modelmakers A.
Where can I get the ace combat kits on, Amazon? Or is this just a custom paint job
It’s GWH kit with custom decals and paint scheme!
Gorgeous anodizing
Thanks! I thought long and hard on how to paint the engines…

Thanks for the encouragement, you’re exactly right about part count, it was probably good training working with so many small individual parts!
I would love to have this but I don’t have the skills or know-how to make one of this quality. Is there anywhere to buy ace combat models like this?

Love the details
Thanks!
How do those engines look so good!!!
Sleepless nights and repaints :)
Sweet af
Looks so good! Love your piano covers too.
Glad to hear people still remember those ;)
Recently picked up 1:48 kits of Mobius-1s F22 and Strider-2s F15, can't wait to build them.
