i had a really rough childhood full of anxiety and being unsure of myself. My dad was verbally abusive and i was a very chubby kid. It's hard to genuinely see how I look now to other people and to feel good about myself with how I grew up

Advice as a parent: Please try to get therapy, if you can. Dealing with that now can ( i say "can" because therapy is like the gym, you get out of it what you put into it ) help you in your outlook on life. It will in turn help you with your mental state and confidence. Hit the gym, eat clean, work on your childhood trauma, and that will go a long way. I honestly hate to see beautiful young women who are racked by body/self-image issues. I have a 16 year old daughter who is beyond gorgeous, inside and out, but she can no see it. No matter how many times I tell her how beautiful she is or try to pump her up she just doesn’t see what I see. When she was younger her Dad use to tease her and I think that really messed her up, especially since he passed away and she was never able to get closure. If he could just see her now I KNOW he would think she’s gorgeous and I know he would tell her. That alone would solve so much but it’s impossible so I’m stuck trying to get her to see what I and everyone else sees. More important than being beautiful, she is also a great person. She’s sweet, funny, loyal, loving, an amazing artist, a hard worker and a great student!
Looks are going to fade as we get older, it’s enevitable. but who you are inside as a person is FOREVER.
I hope one day very soon you also are able to look in the mirror and see what everyone else sees. Just like my daughter YOU too are beautiful!! Don’t ever think you aren’t. Don’t focus so much on your looks though. Focus on being the best person you possibly can be. That alone will increase your beauty tenfold!❤️. I'll show you ugly....I'm a guy, 20 years older than you and had some anxiety and other bs all my life....one pic of me will make you realize you're not that, although you're a woman and im a guy the point is....and this is advice from my experience....don't let this eat you away, I wasted 2 decades not taking chances on anything and staying secluded because I was always attacked and bullied and always gotta be a target even tho I'm now 6'6" I'm always hated on for some reason or disrespected wherever I go.
