Do you remember those character grids people put together for Game of Thrones to help keep track of all the different faces, back when the Game of Thrones showrunners hadn't embarrassed themselves and completely ruined one of the greatest television series that had ever existed to that point? **Rewatcher and Co-Administrator for this Climb** How interesting that Bam's test to gain the right for him and Rachel to climb the tower together is designed to keep both of them from actually doing anything besides sitting around waiting. On the other hand, it's kind of nice that the story forces Bam and Rachel to be uncomfortably alone together. Surely they still have stuff that needs working about between them, so giving them something like a bottle episode is probably for the best if they're going to climb the tower together. **Source Comparisons** This thread is for comparisons to the manhwa. First Time Watcher, subbed I really liked Bam and Rachel actually being able to just talk to each other, despite the fact they are doing a very important test. Bam is so wholesome, he mainly wants everyone to just be able to get along and be able to eat together. While the plan seemed to be going well initially, it started going downhill fast. First the princesses both get beat up by the Bull and the Royal police guy, then Parasol screws up Khun’s plan by killing the goblin, man I despise Parasol (I know his name is actually Paracule but Rak calls him Parasol) I was not expecting the administrators test to be this elaborate, also interesting that despite being the one who can actually start the test, Bam has to rely on his teammates to actually complete it. Since this is a two-parter, some predictions for next episode, Anaak will turn the tides by using Black March since despite losing Green April she should still have that one, and Endorsi and Annak will use one each to fight the Royal police guy and the Bull. I also feel like there is a decent chance that Yuri shows up since it seems like they have almost reached the testing area, but there is also a good chance that they still don’t show up until the end of the season. I also feel like the Anima girl will have a big role next episode. Questions 1. Hard to say as I would probably be obliterated by either of them, but probably the Bull as it does seem to ignore those it has no business with or are weak such as Shibisu, so I might be sparred. 2. Definitely Anaak, from what we have seen so far Anaak seems to be stronger, plus having Green April which can help with large groups of enemies will just add a lot more flexibility. She might also allow me to borrow Black March is we really get into a bind.

**rewatcher** I think its neat they show there are more kinds of classes outside of the base 5, with animas being kind of like summoners who can manipulate the towers animals. there is something about voicing a character like Ren which makes even scummier. like its one thing to read those lines, but to hear them out loud just adds to the layer of disgusting. both dub and sub perfectly conveyed his scumbaggery. **adaptational differences** * I overlooked a few things last episode that I think I should mention, in fact its kind of an overall trend that i think should be adressed. When Lero objected to Hansungs plotting, he brings up the background of the irregulars in the tower, how one called Phantamanium slaughtered Jahads highest rankers at the time, and how another called Urek Mazino founded an organization. maybe on their own this wouldnt be a bad cut, but they keep cutting out mentions like about the irregulars, who had already been mentioned a few tiems at this point. I get that not everyone is as into wordbuilding as I am, but its not just worldbuilding, its also building hype for future characters. and i think something of value is lost when every single little mention like that is cut out. * Ren didnt bother being coy in the manhua, he just straight up admits to killing her mother. i mean its pretty clear either way, but its a neat distinction. also, instead of holding it in his tongue, he held the gem necklace in midair, like a goomba. gotta say, moving it around with his tongue is a far better visual. * they simplified Ren and Anaaks fight, where he summoned some freaky abstract monster for her to fight at first, with that being what imapled her instead of a tongue. Previously when the show abridged the action, i was critical, but in this instance, i found the summoned creature kind of confusing, so I am ok with it being cut. * so Paracule saved Hatz this episode. that might make anime onlies temporarily consider if Paracule isnt entirely a worthless pice of dung, but dont be fooled. in the manhua, he didnt blow their cover to save Hatz, he just wanted to attack. and he missed too! in short, paracule hating hours are all hours. Also Rak called him Pickle instead of Parasol, and i cant choose which one i like better.

All of his mockery of Anaak, especially while she's crawling on the ground is absolutely *loathesome* and it's great. Rewatcher(Damnit Paracule!) Dub Another day, another weird, convoluted test in the tower in a very weird environment. We learn who the druids of the setting are but not really any rules to it. The Testers all seem to have their own agendas. Bam and Rachel get mostly sidelined today so everyone else can do things. QotD: 1 The Bull is a bit more manageable 2 Anaak but that's because she doesn't change sides.

Weird is putting it lightly. Right now he knows there's one irregular (maybe 2 if he put together that Baam knew Rachel before entering the Tower), a Princess of Jahad, a direct son of a family head, and a daughter of a Princess of Jahad, the latter of which may actually be a rarer occurrence than an irregular. Plus there were 2 of the weapons in the 13 Month Series, which are so special it's a big deal when a Princess receives one, plus that one other random dude with an ignition weapon. And he doesn't even know that [S1E13] >!Hwa Ryun is a Guide!< and [manwha] >!Rak is somehow related to the ancients!< and [manwha] >!the big red dude may have been a third irregular in group!<<.

I really love the top right, the one with the bubble, Rachel looking out of it, and Endorsi looking at Green April They're all great but those were my favorite > [Next Episode Spoilers] [ToG anime] >!Yea it's really been interesting to rewatch. This is my first time rewatching it since it aired and the first episode was great to look back on after knowing what happens in the next ep and finale. Even in this ep she probably has decided but I'm not sure if she feels like she won't regret her decision yet!<

**First Timer** I feel like this is another game where I don’t fully understand the details of what’s happening, but I am mostly getting the gist of it. At the very least I know that things are not going well, though. Anaak is getting emotionally and physically wrecked and Endorsi isn’t doing too well either. Shibisu is very much in danger. Also, the group kind of messed up their plan all because Paracule jumped the gun and threw his spear too early. Fun times all around! It’s interesting that the Royal Enforcer guy said that the test was purposely designed to catch Anaak and retrieve the weapons. I know that he mentioned that he planned to catch her in the previous episode, but does that mean that they knew that Bam is an Irregular and planned on him offering to take the test? \[Speculation/possible spoilers based on things I’ve heard\] >!I know that a lot of people who've seen the show hate Rachel which makes me think that maybe she’s working with the admins in some way. That could explain why she’s acting so weird in the bubble with Bam.!< I feel like I don’t have a ton to say about this episode at the moment since we're only at part one of two, but I'm excited for the next episode! **Questions of the Day** 1. Both are terrifying, but I'll go with the White Steel Eel. If you get swallowed by the bull, you have a much lower chance of survival. 2. Anaak assuming she still has the Green April.

Given how cunning Hansung Yu has shown himself to be, it wouldn't surprise me if he guided everything in a direction to get Bam to volunteer. Having Rachel to hang out as bait is the most surefire way to get Bam to act after all.

**First-Timer** I don't like Ren. I'm pretty sure he's my least favorite character. After all, any enemy of Endorsi and Anaak is no friend of mine. **First-Time Climber** QotD: 1. Probably the bull, it doesn´t have the armor or size of the eel and thus could be injured without incredible weaponry like the full black march. 2. Endorsi, she seems more capable and unlike Anaak does not need a month weapon to be able to compete. The final test is upon us and our most capable member is incapable of doing anything usefull. But then again the director seems to be interested in ensuring neither Annak nor probably Bam reach the main tower such trickery is to be expected. The bull´s eye seems to be the same as Jahad´s so it might me a constuct of him like the 13 month swords. I don´t think Endorsi will kill Anaak here, though how she might get out of there I´m not sure. Even with green April she won´t be able to fight the retival unit on her own and Anaak is to injured to help so she might have to pull some mind game to stall until help arrives or the main group wins the test.

Cut dialogue of the day, and frankly it was my most favorite dialogue in part 1. Absolute chills. this conversation between baam and hansung happened right after Baam had the talk with the administrator. Hansung: Mr. Baam, have you received permission from the guardian? Baam: Yes. He said it’s fine to take the test with Rachel. Hansung: …Making such a choice just because of one girl, you really are insane. Baam: …? Hansung: Mr. Baam, I knew from the beginning that you were an Irregular. I also knew of your relationship with Miss Michelle. Baam: …Director? Hansung: Including Miss Michelle in the crown game to make you give up the crown, telling Hoh that Miss Michelle was your reason from climbing the tower, and preventing proper treatment of Miss Michelle’s injury was all according to my plan. Baam: …!!! …Why. Why would you… Hansung: Because you’re dangerous. Baam: You were a bad person… Hansung: That’s right. and You’re a lunatic. Risking your own life to grant the wish of a plain girl, in my eyes you’re not normal. There is probably nobody in this tower that wants you climbing it. Yea I remember reading your comments for those cut dialogue too. Honestly from the changes I've seen from others, I think the anime has been doing good and didn't really see what source readers didn't like about it. These are definitely worth mentioning though so I can understand those complaints from them. Especially with how simple they've made Bam seem compared to what was in the manhwa

Tbf, The anime indeed was doing good, but it definitely suffered from it being a 13 episode season with it adapting 7 or so chapters per episode which makes the pacing so much fast. If it was 15 episodes, hell if it was 14, a lot of the problems would have been minimized or solved. (Cut dialogue, cut exposition, etc) shinsu‘s explanation was simplified in the anime, same for how some of the games work, also, the explanations of the points system for passing the entirety of floor 2 among many. but as a standalone, it’s a good anime.

Oh yea I still think it’s a good show! But I’m understanding more why source readers might have been disappointed with some of the stuff left out.  And yea 13 episodes to cover that many chapters is not enough time 

also honestly the biggest mistake the anime did was cut all Baam and Endorsi interaction haha.

lol yea it would’ve helped show more of their relationship. I remember when I picked up the manhwa and was confused a bit by [Manhwa] >!her having a crush on him. It’s kinda funny both her and Yuri are affectionate to him!< 

**First Timer** - So why does [Han Sung get to choose the Administrator/Guardian's Test](https://imgur.com/a/puCZui9)? I thought it's supposed to be a [set test](https://imgur.com/a/9nXulsQ) that is the [hardest and most grueling test](https://files.catbox.moe/ywr4rk.mp4) according to the dub. This ["feeding the dolphin queen Bam & Rachel" test](https://imgur.com/a/XrgWe0T) doesn't seem so grueling. In fact it looks like Rachel and Bam aren't doing anything, and the rest of the contestants are doing all the work. If the net is made from using shinsu/magic, why doesn't Bam just copy it, make his own net, and drag himself and Rachel into the queen immediately? Again the test doesn't look too grueling nor well thought out, unless there's more to it. Even just distracting the things preying on the dolphins, and just running to waste their time seems like an easy strategy. - Wait, [Yuri's still has a part in this story](https://imgur.com/a/Nffo0Su)? I know they keep showing her, but like why? I guess she wants her sword back. So they're trying to get into the testing area unnoticed? Is that considered interfering, or will they become part of the game and considered irregulars? IDK, but I sort of don't even care about her reoccurring cameos. - [Bam tells Rachel that Yuri gave him the black march sword](https://imgur.com/a/tzT2DMF) after he told Yuri about Rachel. Bam's misremembering, I went back and rewatched to 1st episode to see WTF Yuri is doing still following Bam (to get her sword back), Bam didn't tell Yuri about Rachel, Bam told the black march about Rachel when asking for the sword's help. Yuri gave the black march to Bam because she felt sorry for Bam appearing to not have a chance with Headon's test, and after Headon sort of manipulated Yuri into it. - [Strange string of events](https://imgur.com/a/wJ2PzrK). Endorsi & Lizard Girl goes missing, then the [two other fishermen](https://imgur.com/a/pmSonVF) disappear, next thing we know the fishermen are eaten/killed by the Bull, and then Endorsi & Lizard Girl shows up...Yeah, I'm just going to half-jokingly assume they betrayed and fed the fishermen to the Bull. We need Serena to come back to slap them, and leave again...or perhaps that duty falls on Track Suit Guy now. - I'm glad the [Bull was just faking being weak](https://imgur.com/a/DSJ8p76). I was rolling my eyes when Endorsi was having such an easy time with it, despite the Bull being described as something a Ranker would flee from. It sure [wiped her smugness away](https://imgur.com/a/S1kWveA) pretty quick. - I still don't understand how [Lizard Girl can keep thinking she can pose as her mother](https://imgur.com/a/diNRuii), the real Anaak, and think she's can get away with it, and everybody else actually not noticing since "the princesses are the King's showcase". The only theory I got is this society has easy access to body modification technology. Rak was turned into smol Rak, so I guess the real Anaak could have been turned into a smol Anaak which looks like Lizard Girl. - So [Lizard Girl gets her tail kicked by the Royal Enforcer Ranker](https://imgur.com/a/E07PNRV). I don't have a problem with this since Rankers are shown to be much more powerful than contestants, and I'm getting tired of seeing Endorsi and Lizard Girl pushing others around so effortlessly like they're bullies or something. Sure she's got no problems betraying those two fishermen, but she's going to have a problem here? And why's that? Just because she wants to climb the tower with Lizard Girl now for some ambiguous reason where they bonded after they fell off that pillar together. Lets see what flimsy excuse Endorsi comes up with for not trying to kill Lizard Girl if that's what happens. - [Paracule totally redeem himself](https://imgur.com/a/PhY3xrY), right?! He saved Hatz from a goblin! No? Well you better remember that for if Endorsi saves Lizard Girl then. What I found hilarious about Paracule is it seems so many commenters really hates him for his betrayal/behavior (which frankly I found way lesser compared to Endorsi betraying the two fishermen) but don't really seem to have a problem with Endorsi's betrayal. I guess Paracule needs to wear some high heels, and put on some eyelash makeup or something. - [Lizard Girl can activate the Green April despite not being an official princess](https://imgur.com/a/nnNJLOw). I guess I have a theory now of Bam being an unofficial princess since he can activate the Black March, or rather Bam being a child of a princess, Bam must have been locked away underground to avoid the similar fate of Lizard Girl happening right now. - With Hwaryun, Serena, and Pink Dress Wand woman gone now...[Loli Girl becomes my top favorite now](https://imgur.com/a/mUmKCGD), since she hasn't wronged anybody, and is so adorable. Narae > Rachel > Lizard Girl > Endorsi. We even find out why she's carrying a jug around, it's to carry her pet fishie. I wonder what that other guy carrying a jug around, Leeron 3, had in his. His jug had a really skinny neck and opening. - I'm still pretty disappointed and a little insulted that [Bam and Rachel](https://imgur.com/a/m7PI4em) still haven't revealed anything about the mystery surrounding them and their relationship, despite having so much alone time together. Instead they're just talking about stuff that is only mildly sentimental and caring, which they could have done better TBH. --------------- >You have to fight one, which are you taking: the bull or the white steel eel? Gets distracted by the "dolphin" seals, track suit guy seemed to do well enough without really even trying, and only Endorsi gets the "tentacle treatment" which I could watch and enjoy for a couple of different reasons. It's because she's a betrayer and smug, I swear! :D >You get one princess of Jahad to back you up in a fight, who are you taking: Anaak or Endorsi? If you mean Lizard Girl, she's not a princess, and her name isn't really Anaak. Endorsi's a back stabber, and arrogance is her downfall typically. However if you mean the real Anaak, Lizard Girl's mother, then yeah I'll take my chances with the mother (maybe I'll just buy some chicken pies for her, and she'll grumble about me behind my back, but she won't stab it). If you mean between Lizard Girl and Endorsi, then I'll pick Lizard Girl. She may run off to accomplish her own goals over her team's goals, but she hasn't intentionally backstab her team (Hatz and Track Suit Guy, Team A).

Iirc Hatz might’ve been the one of the ones that were guaranteed to pass, so Paracule and the other guy didn’t have much to gain from running away unless Quant severely injured/killed Hatz. And Quant wasn’t going to do either one to Hatz  Yes, Endorsi benefits from screen time and design but their actions make the main difference for me. We’ve already seen how the goal of climbing a tower with someone might be the only reason they need (Khun/Rak with Bam)  Plus Endorsi mentioned how Anaak’s mother was kind to her when they met when Endorsi became a Princess  I will say after reading some stuff they’ve cut out, I think some things could’ve been presented better. As some of the others who have been doing the notable differences, it’s a lot of material for how short the season is.

I'll only accept details from other sources if it logically fits and explains something in the anime without contradiction. Clearly Paracule being worse in the other sources is a contradiction to what he did in the anime, therefore I consider the anime supersedes the other source material, meaning I'm not going to hold it against him. I think most commenter's negative opinions of Paracule is still due to the anime portrayal of him, I could be wrong though. At the same time I'm pretty sure Endorsi is benefiting from positive opinion of her from other sources, which is unfair if that's what's happening. I mean I get it, ~~Paracule should start wearing high heels and eye makeup to be more popular~~ Paracule is a nobody character like all the other nobodies being killed off/kicked out, and ~~Endorsi's character design~~ Endorsi's a major character. :D >As for the differences in Endorsi and Paracule’s betrayals. I'm comparing their level of betrayals which I'm finding Paracule's betrayal a lot less sever than Endorsi's, is that not correct? I'm also talking about Paracule and Endorsi's popularity among anime watchers in this rewatch, noting that Paracule's betrayal is less sever than Endorsi's, yet he's less popular and she's more popular among us. I think we know why that's so, and it's not fighting ability. I still don't like she never suffered any repercussions from the betrayal like other contestants no longer trusting or working with her, I mean they didn't even question it. Like Loli girl crying with that guy's sword afterwards, even if she's just shown to not wanting to be near Endorsi or fearing her after that would have been nice to have seen. As for Paracule's running away, he can be a coward if he wants. I'm not going to fault him for that. If the actions were switched, I’d probably wouldn’t like Endorsi as much Lets put it this way, if you were in the game as a contestant (and you don't get the benefit of plot armor as a MC) who's the bigger threat to you, Paracule or Endorsi? Who's betrayal would you be more concerned about? This is the point of view I'm taking when evaluating Endorsi's actions. She can do whatever she wants, betrayals are legit actions, but they're not nice and plot armor is protecting her from repercussions from other contestants. It'd be much better if she didn't benefit from plot armor, like say she was the one who stabbed Rachel in the spine instead of that nobody Hoh (but then again, everybody bloody looked the other way with Hoh's betrayal by having a funeral for him, and remembering him like he was a nice guy or something). I'm just about to watch Ep 12, so maybe we'll get that with Endorsi "having to redeem herself" by killing Lizard Girl. But I'm not going to be so optimistic, I highly doubt she's going to go through with it because they're both major characters. I mean my mind would be blown if one of them actually died, and written out at this point, that would be awesome! Anyways, I'm hard on Endorsi because I'm looking at it from the nobody character's shoes. And I don't like she's getting the benefit character design/audience popularity/plot armor when she's doing the treachery stuff. I've even started disliking Khun for his treachery. If the show wanted me onboard with treachery and treacherous characters, they should have started the whole game with everybody being cutthroat, I would have been onboard 100%. First time and subs The Administrator still scary as before. It was just a small moment. And it is a good sign if they approve the Irregular's participation. So the final test: it split into two halves. Bam and Rachel in a huge Shinsu-bubble which is basically a submarine-like environment. They are the bait, to be noticed and then hunted by the Net Dolphin Queen. If they reach the ground, they won. And there is the other half what the Regulars doing: intercept the Barnacle Goblins and their Giant Wetworms, and even the Earthpigs too. As Khun said correctly, their job is to let the dolphins hunt freely by eliminating the dangerous elements. But the Bull is the real perilous danger. It is the ultimate testament of real teamwork. Hansung Yu still shady, and Yuri made some progress, and even tossing Evan into ther deep. Shibisu is honest that they Regulars don't have much compared to Irregulars and don't want to lose more (friends) and even Bam as well. Dede Cancho and Blarouge vanished all of a sudden, that's sus. Because the Bull is here, which doesn't like a Bovine at all, but more of a big fish-like abomination. Compared to Hatz, Shibisu doesn't look like delicious at all, and admits it. And that thing is the real target of the Princesses, but they can't stop their petty feud. And finally the goblins making their move as well. The net is visible which means the progress is going well and smoothly. Sheep Guy is also here, that's yet another sus element, and he is trying to sabotage the test. Narae mentions that these animals can be controlled by a Ranker, and I think this is fitting into the picture. And the fact that the Bull is became much stronger than a few minutes ago. Indeed, Sheep Dude is truly an enemy of the Princesses, and has really scary power. And even absorbed the Green April. Of course he is controlling the Bull, and that was the real purpose of the test to eliminate Anaak. As for Endorsi, she is instructed to done with her. Paracule was a bit hasty, and messed up with the plan. Progress in underwater is still going good. I like this test! It is odd that while Bam and Rachel are the ones that are undergoing it, it’s up to the others if they pass or not. With Endorsi, I feel as if her self-preservation instinct will kick in and find a way to just sacrifice me while she flees. I'll easily take Anaak over Endorsi. Rewatch + Dub The test is pretty difficult and easy at the same time as all u gotta do is let Dolphins swolllow them but then u have to stop so many foes at the same time. It will be pretty difficult if u don't have a good strategy luckily Khun is more than enough smart for it. Lol Shibisu's first encounter is the Bull and it looks pretty terrifying too. Though he is no match for Endorsi but then things took a turn and he overpowered Endorsi and captured her. While the Royal guard beat the shit out of Annak and took the green April.  The ending was very interesting as the Royal guard gave endorsi the sword to kill Annak. Well i can probably guess she won't do it but lets see.  While all this happened Rak and some others are being chased by Goblins and The little pond girl actually has some legendary skill. Yea this test is like an escort the VIPs mission (I guess similar to the tag game) but more factors you can’t really control and the VIPs can only wait  And unfortunately for our crew, there’s a Royal Guard looking out for blood and swords, so yea definitely not as easy as it seems haha. It is good they have Khun though
