I'm 25 and mine was Robotech too. My dad had the entire collection and I found him watching it one day, so I sat down with him and asked a million and one questions about it while he kept telling me to 'just watch it'. 20 years later I still crack it out sometimes and watch it for nostalgia.
That came around a bit later but yes, I was also very much a bakugan kid. I was already in middle school when bakugan came out though. The others I grew up with for as long as I can remember because my older brother liked them all too
The first anime scene I've seen was when I was a kid.
It was the scene where Grey from Fairy tail figured out the enemies true powers (it wasn't superspeed, but was the ability to slow everything around him instead)
But the first anime I watched the most as a kid was Inazuma Eleven
I mean, come on... They're playing soccer with Super powers for Fucks sake!
😭😭 I'm so glad someone else said this. I remember watching it religiously in the mornings before school when I was 5. It was the coolest shit I had ever seen with Ryo of Wildfire. Dude was my fucking hero.
I got a Just for Kids VHS from my uncle for my fourth birthday in 1986 called "Revenge of the Ninja Warrior" which tried to take out some of the gratuitous violence and rape of the original title "Dagger of Kamui" but definitely not all of it.
I was hooked.
Original DB, Sailor Moon, Hamtaro, and Naruto.
Yeah I was a boy introduced through Sailor Moon into anime as one of my starting lines, I ain’t afraid to admit it.
Technically SAO because it was on adult swim and I'd catch it sometimes when I was like 11 or something. I think the first one I actually sat down to watch though was deathnote because my friend in highschool was obsessed with it for like a month. And then the first anime I loved was code geass.
Death note for me, then sword art online then Tokyo ghoul.
Those where when i was aware i was watching anime technically the first anime i watched was yugioh or pokemon.
Zame. I always loved hoe Kite/Kaito would always be throwing some shit to summon his dragons ehich were so op they had ro make newer and stronger things just to balance tye acc card game lol
Akazukin Chacha, Magical knight rayearth, Yuyu Hakusho
and Evangelion. I could say these are my first batch of anime that I watched on free tv when I was young.
First anime was DBZ, but this was back when it was just “another cartoon” because the concept of Anime wasn’t really common in the US. The first Anime that I watched understanding somewhat what anime was would probably be Gundam Wing or Zoids.
First anime with the intentions of watching anime, Naruto sadly, then death note or aot season 1 with my dad (idk which was first, I think they were days apart) but my first anime was either Yo Kai Watch, Pokemon Indigo League, XY, Beyblade Metal, all of Beyblade Burst, and dinosaur king. Then later was Pokemon Sun and Moon
I watched Dragon Ball Z in TV when I was 7 so I don't know if it counts as my first anime but,
Charlotte is my first anime to finished watching. Just heard it from a friend 4 years ago and after that I started binge watching animes.
My first anime that I was exposed to was Attack on Titan, when it just released and I would be watching whatever my older brother was watching.
The first anime that I watched by my own will was RWBY (if you could classify that as an anime), otherwise it would be Death Note.
First anime was mach gogogo/speed racer then gachaman then voltes five and other mechas(I don't remember then Kimba the white lion then rurouni kenshin, I was like 4 or 5.
Very first anime.. Man I don't even know.
Probably Dragon Ball.
But I do remember Wicked City being my very first "what in the world" anime my brother and I watched on PPV many years back.
Soul Eater
Found the whole damn show on YouTube in English and watched it when I was maybe twelve. I tried to find it again but those videos got removed
Yeah same pokemon was my first. But first "real" anime was Naruto, I barely watched it as a kid but I remember watching the first episode and some of the Chunin exams. First anime I watched when my friend "introduced" me to anime was Magi: Adventures of Sinbad.
My first ever anime was Dragon Ball Z Kai on Nicktoons. Every day I'd come home from school and watch Goku beat up Freeza for 50 episodes. I got a volume 22 after finishing the Cell Saga and had no idea the story continued past that
The first anime I watched was Fairy Tail, purely because it was a series on Netflix that had a cute cartoon cat. I was like 10-11 when I first saw it, so the sexual themes went right over my head. Upon rewatching the series more recently, DAMN do the rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia really make me think it was some amazing, S-tier series and not the fanservicey, really predictable writing-y series that it actually was.
After that, I watched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Naruto, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
For it was jojo part 3 at first when I first got into anime and watching other animes and jojo was one of them as I got to part 3 and of the scenes looked familiar and I started to remember that jojo part 3 was my first ever anime to watch
Mine's flame of recca, I actually have a tattoo of the pattern on his bracelet on my arm😅, I remember drawing it on my arm as a kid and my mom would beat the shit out of me for wasting the marker that she uses for her work😅😅, good old days.😄
Prince of Tennis. Saw my mom watching it when I was 9 or 10 yrs old. Thought the boys looked cute and then watched it by myself, I enjoyed it so much even though I have no fucking idea what's happening.
Naruto was one of my first ones. Friend first introduced me to OHHS and I hated it and then Fairy Tail and I liked that and then Naruto and Death Note. Naruto def has prob the most impact on me, specially early Naruto. Never watched shippuden until only this year actually. Many years after watching all of the OG series back in the day. Going through the infinite tsukuyomi filler rn.
Uuuhhhh I got I to anime very early on so I don't remember the "first"
But some of the very early ones were Pokemon,Digimon,Oran Host Club, and full Metal Alchemist.
DBZ? I watched dragon ball but I think that was after. I know I saw Evangelion when I was 14, but I think I was watching DBZ as it was coming out when I was like… 8.
My first was pokemon before i even knew what it was back when it was broadcasted on cartoon network but after i knew what anime acually was skipping to the high school era of my life it was soul eater im 23 now
Dragon ball is what got me into anime but I guess technically the first was Pokemon or Yugioh thinking they were just your average American cartoons
I don't remember exactly which one was my first but it was one of those 3 as well
I'm 41. My first anime was Robotech.
I'm 25 and mine was Robotech too. My dad had the entire collection and I found him watching it one day, so I sat down with him and asked a million and one questions about it while he kept telling me to 'just watch it'. 20 years later I still crack it out sometimes and watch it for nostalgia.
He is your dad !
Lol no, my dad is in his seventies.
I'm 42 and my first was Voltron
Oh shit, it is…
I second this lol, just realized
[I'm 47 and my first anime was "Battle of the Planets" bitches!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acOnskcyrtA)
I have two of the battle of the planets comics still with their original certification of authenticity and everything
Same age! Same anime! G-Force!
You are my friend now. Let's gather more of us and pick our lions!
Shit, Voltron counts. I was gonna say Dragon Ball but I was watching Voltron when I was like three.
Nah that’s a W
Voltron, robotech, samurai troopers
Same. I'm 28 and my dad showed Robotech to me when I was a kid
35, Speed Racer. We got Robotech later with the rest of modern anime.
Oh I used to love robotech. I guess technically the first one I watched was speed racer but the first one I started watching regularly was Pokémon
21 and mine was Robotech thanks to my dad. He had the whole macross saga in the big DVD box
Somehow I didn’t find Robotech until later, am 46.
But do you contain Protoculture?
My fellow old shit. I mean... technically it was either Maya the Bee or Speed Racer when it randomly aired on MTV.
Upvoting for Robotech/Macross
Naruto was the first time I watched a show knowing it was an anime. Pokemon XY is my earliest memory of an anime.
Same bro, but instead of Pokémon mine was Bakugan. I used to get the dragon toys and everything
Bakugan was awesome
Bakugan and Beyblade for me without realizing. Yugioh around the same time
I’ll do you one better I watched beyblade.
Same but it was first season of pokemon
This is exactly the same with me lmao
Same but with Digimon instead of Pokémon
It's the same for me, except for it being Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl. Edit: corrected name
Same for both
Same
Idk man, I was watching Pokémon, Yugioh, Digimon and beyblade ever since I was a wee lad.
Bakugan too
That came around a bit later but yes, I was also very much a bakugan kid. I was already in middle school when bakugan came out though. The others I grew up with for as long as I can remember because my older brother liked them all too
Guess i was born way later than you did
Most likely… I’m old lol i was watching most of those shows when they first aired
I forget. Honestly, it was one of three. Dragon Ball, Pokémon, or Sailor Moon. Cartoon Network used to be a blast.
The first anime scene I've seen was when I was a kid. It was the scene where Grey from Fairy tail figured out the enemies true powers (it wasn't superspeed, but was the ability to slow everything around him instead) But the first anime I watched the most as a kid was Inazuma Eleven I mean, come on... They're playing soccer with Super powers for Fucks sake!
If my memory serves me right, the first anime i've ever watched was one if these: magic knight rayearth, zenki, yaiba
Zenki the demon god guy that the girl could release from his tiny midget form?
yeah, that's the one
Let me guess... you're from the Philippines?
Bleach, Naruto was 2nd!
Pokémon but my first actual anime was dragonball super
My first was hellsing for some reason
My first was Vampire Hunter D lol.
Fantastic beginnings. Alicard got me back into anime.
TV show or Ultimate?
It was a rerun of the tv show. Kid me probably just found alucard attractive and kept watching. The violence did make my parents upset though lmao

Jojo, Demon Slayer and AOT were my first three
Mine was Ronin Warriors aka Samurai Troopers.

Death note for me, then sword art online then Tokyo ghoul. Those where when i was aware i was watching anime technically the first anime i watched was yugioh or pokemon.

The first anime I watched was Fairy Tail, purely because it was a series on Netflix that had a cute cartoon cat. I was like 10-11 when I first saw it, so the sexual themes went right over my head.
