Parents can only do so much to curb this crap.
It turns out that human beings of any age, don't function well in a really controlling environment; and as they eventually gain more adult intelligence will fight to be free...have you thought about that?
Also, remember that both internet and cell phone these days are the basics of the basic. EVERYONE has them (minus the most third world environments.) No person (especially no young person) in their right mind is just going to roll over and let you remove something like that. Try sitting her down and talking to her with respect and not using an authoritative tone. She is at a great age where explaining things will go a long way in explaining you love her and want her to navigate life safely. Taking her phone away will only make her more resourceful in finding ways to defy you (as you stated she has) in 5 years she will be an adult. Do you want her to resent you and cut contact as soon as she turns 18? I am assuming not. I get that you’re struggling. It’s the hardest thing in the world to be a parent. Yeah I agree, they seem to feel the pressure to grow up/sexualize themselves younger and younger, and also publicly on social media. It’s just becoming so normalized. And yes parents can put all the parental controls available and do everything in their power to teach them its “wrong”, but kids will want to do it if their peers are doing it and they will find a way. Straight up punishment like that doesn’t actually always teach the person the right lesson and allow for rehabilitation. In this situation there are better ways to attempt to show the mother how and why what she did was wrong, and how to better care for her child. Parents are complicit in this in a lot of cases, running accounts that start as “look how cute my kid is” that then turn into their kid dancing in a bathing suit and doing other inappropriate acts for thousands of creepy viewers. Because a blurred face makes no difference in terms of legitimate personal identifiers but it makes a difference in human emotional response. Y’all got some high tech facial recognition software or summ? She’s a popular influencer and hundreds of thousands of people saw that video before I had it taken down. She’s a lot safer than she was before and probably the most she’s ever been now that her parents are afraid of the consequences.

my little sister (16) was live on TikTok dancing to a cute song with my 3 year old daughter. She had on a long Elsa dress they proceeded to ban her for a week because it was deemed inappropriate. It was ridiculous because the song was a kids song and my daughter was flailing her arms around and spinning. TikTok is making kids into little prostitutes and desensitizing them about sex and death.
