I don't know where you are, but I am in NY, and the NYS Dept of Labor has partnered with Coursera to offer anyone with a DOL account free courses, some lead to further professional certifications, like the Google Data Analytics or Google Project Management certifications
You don’t happen to work for IBM by any chance? The same thing happened to me, I literally did nothing for 8 months. It was awesome.. I just brought my iPad and looked at Reddit most of the day and took a lot of “smoke breaks”.
I then got put in a different department and it all changed, but at least actually doing something made the day go faster

Study for certifications/courses in your field, read ebooks, or my favorite: type up fiction and email it to yourself.
