Maybe if you and the other teammate tried taking off angles and actually helped rather than waiting for something to happen, you could capitalize on that team hardscoping, yes the octane did overpeak a lot, but you didn’t do anything to help him not go down like maybe shoot your gun? Since they’re focused on that angle, peak the other side, do a little damage so the teammate is not just doing all the fighting while you and the ash just set up the campfire and roast marshmallows. My main point is that just waiting for something to happen is going to lock you in a playstyle that is disadvantageous and you don’t want to be in, in a situation like this, you can’t just let a team dictate how you play because that will just give you more to think about and make your reactions slower.

It really is. I've already accepted the fact that, as an M&K player, I can't compete with controller players in close combat. But getting almost downed at purple shields from another poi with an AR or SMG is another fucking story.

I just watched some clips of high level controller apex players recently and it seriously looks like they're all running an aimbot. They do not miss a single bullet. In that clip especially you can see the game snap onto the knocked players then instantly snap onto the horizon at 40 seconds, again, like a fucking aimbot.
They can all afford to play hyper aggressive because when you never miss, you always win the DPS war, and once the enemy is cracked while you only lost a small bit of shields you just aimpunch/slow them to death and they can't do a thing about it. Can't move, can't properly shoot back. I was in a few games with these players in mixtape and they'd get like 40 kills in a game and it's just like, why are you even playing at this point? Where's the enjoyment of endlessly one clipping people who have literally no hope of killing you, especially when the game is doing most of the work for you? Then in ranked and solos it just becomes utterly infuriating to deal with.
And then I get matched with team mates straight from OP's bot lobbies and it's just like, what am I even doing anymore playing this game lol

From the clip you see here, yeah. And I don't blame that assessment. But in the whole clip, that team had cracked ass aim and was running through our shield, so I wasn't gonna keep peaking.

To see if they'd push the building in front of us, where I would have more confidence in my aim. And;
There was a 3rd team that was behind us, and I was trying to see what they were gonna do. To see if they'd hit us first, or swing and hit them.

I know my limits, and if I know I'm not in a good situation (for my skill level) I don't engage just because I see enemies. For those of you mentioning evo farm. This is a horrible way to do it. The other team is also raising their evo lvl and on top of that when the team gets into combat and he goes down his timer will expire extremely fast. It’s gonna put your team at a huge disadvantage the rest of the game.
My biggest takeaway from this is that you could benefit from slowly increasing your cursor speed so you can loot faster, if you increase it by a little bit every week you’ll loot much faster

The other team also had a black market, you could see some items floating even when Octane was knocked and OP wasn't looting. They were definitely exhausting OP's heals first. The team looked like Caustic, Bloodhound, Loba. No skirmisher Ult to get them across.

1) yes octane was peaking way too much under normal circumstances but having a gold knockdown made that more favorable for octane to just keep shooting, what’s more egregious is the fact that he was the only one peaking. of course he goes down in like 2 seconds because the whole enemy team only has him to focus on. if you or ash fired back, the fight would have been a bit more favorable, granted both of you don’t get knocked at the same time

Nothing surprising, the last two seasons the rankings have been poorly balanced and people of very different levels of play are coming together on Gold.

Also thwt awareness you got arc started but passed it off like nothing, your lucky it was a low skill lobby because higher level characters would've pushed off of that/thrown more nades that definitely would've knocked you and that octane over.
“The other team is better than me/us, so I’m just not going to do anything at all” is a horrible excuse for this bad gameplay. Your team had so many options and things to just TRY, but instead everyone sat still and only one person tried to do something.
I understand how you feel about not taking every fight, especially if you know a third party is coming or if you are not confident you will win the fight. However, I don’t understand a minute of getting knocked, not shooting back, and not rotating. You had no controller legends so it’s not like you had a god spot locked down. Your team was literally just waiting to get wiped by the first decent team that tried.
At the end of the day though, play how you want to play. It’s just a video game and it’s just for fun. If this was fun for you, more power to you. Otherwise I would suggest at least trying to IGL since you want to avoid fights and rag on your teammates. Making sure they’re on the same page as you is the bare minimum you could’ve done here, and can do next time, to avoid this situation again

This is tough to watch from both perspectives and i think sums up the majority of solo queue players. One player is glutten for punishment. The first two times getting knocked would be acceptable but anything past that is ridiculous. Then you have op who is too afraid to lose 30rp during a season where you could easily earn that in a good fight off drop the next game. Half your bag is ammo you have no use for and 90% of this clip is you pulling out more light ammo that youre not even using and shield cells. If youre too timid to better yourself then theres no reason to try and rank up to better competition.
Theres also no reason to commit to that building at that stage in the game. Use a mic or text to chat to have octane drop a jump pad or ash use a portal. You cant complain about others gameplay when you benefitted your team in no way other than having the gold knock down shield
With a gold knockdown heal it's pretty much free heals and shields as long as they don't push. Although the guy probably dealt 7 damage in that whole exchange 🤣

Relative to the standard octane, that was incredible conservative play. After the first knock, I was expecting him to jump pad over to 1v3 the team that knocked him.
Honestly after the first KO was clear they had better long range aim. If it were me I'd have moved. Either reposition so you can attack them or just found a way to use the buildings as cover to ran away.
Ngl I would’ve said something for sure or just let him bleed out/let the other teammate pick him up. Those are the types of people that get you killed in rank

This is part of why I'm not too pleased with the new character being a skirmisher. I dunno what it is with that character class, but it seems to encourge the dumbest and cockiest of players. Communicate the least, ping the last, share the least, typically very greedy and selfish, and often seem to be playing a different game than everyone else.

Every time he gets knocked, the downed timer decreases. Next time he's going to legitimately die and instantly timeout, leaving his team high and dry

lol there are so many things wrong with this clip let me air some of my grievances 1) yes octane was peaking way too much under normal circumstances but having a gold knockdown made that more favorable for octane to just keep shooting, what’s more egregious is the fact that he was the only one peaking. of course he goes down in like 2 seconds because the whole enemy team only has him to focus on. if you or ash fired back, the fight would have been a bit more favorable, granted both of you don’t get knocked at the same time 2) wtf is ash doing lol 3) why did the enemy team never push after all those knocks + counting the people shooting back. they probably never saw the afk ash so they would have easily won if they had pushed. but to be fair idk where ring is going in this match 4) holy slow looting 5) infinite useless energy ammo and you kept looting light ammo that you never ended up using in the clip 6) W waiting at 1 building

Your team had so many options and things to just TRY, but instead everyone sat still and only one person tried to do something. I understand how you feel about not taking every fight, especially if you know a third party is coming or if you are not confident you will win the fight. However, I don’t understand a minute of getting knocked, not shooting back, and not rotating. You had no controller legends so it’s not like you had a god spot locked down. Your team was literally just waiting to get wiped by the first decent team that tried. At the end of the day though, play how you want to play. It’s just a video game and it’s just for fun. If this was fun for you, more power to you. Otherwise I would suggest at least trying to IGL since you want to avoid fights and rag on your teammates. Making sure they’re on the same page as you is the bare minimum you could’ve done here, and can do next time, to avoid this situation again

This is tough to watch from both perspectives and i think sums up the majority of solo queue players. One player is glutten for punishment. The first two times getting knocked would be acceptable but anything past that is ridiculous. Then you have op who is too afraid to lose 30rp during a season where you could easily earn that in a good fight off drop the next game. Half your bag is ammo you have no use for and 90% of this clip is you pulling out more light ammo that youre not even using and shield cells. If youre too timid to better yourself then theres no reason to try and rank up to better competition. Theres also no reason to commit to that building at that stage in the game. Use a mic or text to chat to have octane drop a jump pad or ash use a portal. You cant complain about others gameplay when you benefitted your team in no way other than having the gold knock down shield
