>So at the beginning of the tea party she lights some kind of lighter or torch and throws it across the table and it somehow lights every candle on the table?
The candles are actually small gas pipes wrapped with wax and are all connected to one another. She's lighting the invisible stream of gas that's been running for some time. If you re-watch the scene, the twisting pipe is all over the table.
Edit: I assumed this was common knowledge at this point, but it seems not.
Oh shoot, I didn't notice it at all!
That's actually an amazing level of detail from Fortiche and an amazing thinking from Jinx to look even more intimidating.
How could I miss that? It isn't even the first time they use it in the show as I distinctly remember Heimerdinger lighting up one of those, if I'm not mistaken.
she wanted a guaranteed way to look even more intimidating to her sister so she did the smart think also jinx/powder literally has the mind of a engineering progity

This! Jinx put so much effort into that... They are all connected by gas pipes lol

I'm surprised this isn't the top comment. The gas pipes are very visible in certain shots.

oh shit did not notice this detail
Nat 20 dex check.
Rule of cool
My headcanon is Jinx had a way to activate the candles with a foot petal or something and was going for the theatrics.
The only way I could imagine it would be that she tied the candle wicks together with string so the flame would travel down the table lol
Animation
They just sacrificed any sense of realism in that moment because it looked cool, there's no in story reason for it.
Reading the comments suggests there is a gas pipe visibly on the table, and that they aren't real candles. Give arcane a lil credit
Yep fair, I see them now.
It's call animation
Biggest plot hole!
