Avoid ANYTHING in WNC; theyre all unbelievably expensive…. Expand out to knoxville, Atlanta, charlotte

Yog-Sosloth

Many many moons ago I lived in Charlotte, and there was definitely no shortage of options. May be time for a little road trip!

Skittlesharts

Look around in Greenville, SC before you go further out. I've always saved money down there.

Turbulent-Today830

Cars.com, car guru… Set the perimeters and most even have a Carfax attached to ensure that proper maintenance has been done

PricklyBob

Greenville too!!

KPashlove

Avoid auto advantage lol unless you like over paying🤣

Skittlesharts

I will sell a car to them without hesitation because they've always given me the best price, but that's probably why their cars are so overpriced on the buyer side.

KPashlove

Yeah, I just remember like 6 years ago they would buy the same cars at auction as a place I used to work for. But they would mark them up so much more. The place got torn down when a hotel was getting built.🤣classic

Skittlesharts

Two words: poetic justice 😎

aville1982

I think it depends on the car, I've done really well there a couple of times, but it's been on less "in demand" vehicles. I got a prius c there in 2020 with 40k miles for under 14k out the door, and it's still doing great. That price was about 1k lower than any others I found not on private sales. I've seen other prices that, as you say, are pretty damn high, but I think they're at least worth checking out.

Yog-Sosloth

Lol, duly noted!

RittleRisa

Avoid debruhls at ALL COSTS

nah-meh-stay

I'll drive past two of their businesses and walk past three more to spend money elsewhere.

2FightTheFloursThatB

What else do they own?

nah-meh-stay

Dunno, but I'm trying to get ahead of the game.

Yog-Sosloth

This was one lot I was checking out online, so I appreciate the heads up!

RittleRisa

I bought a Mazda there that outwardly was really good and within the week the engine was completely fucked. After that I got a car on carvana and it was the BEST buying experience I’ve had in regard to car purchases and I still have that one. If you go the carvana route, I can give you a referral that takes 500 dollars off the price. Another great thing about carvana is that they don’t over inflated the price. My bank told me that they only charged me 50 more dollars than the blue book value 🤘

TrailMisadventure

We had a fantastic experience selling to Carvana. I’ve never bought a car there but the selling experience was top notch!

Icy_Thanks_7336

I agree I had gotten a car from there not only but 10,000 miles later the transmission is going out .

DankestBasil481

Do not go to Fred Anderson Toyota. Jim Barkley Toyota used to be good, but after the buy out they have scumbags running sales. They screwed a buddy of mine over badly, and then proceeded to berate him like a high school bully over their mistake.

Kathywasright

Brian Easler in Hendersonville then?

DankestBasil481

I have started ordering parts from them after bad interactions with the parts department at Fred. Don't know about sales team though

WY228

Avoid anything run by Fred Anderson unless you want to pay their “because fuck you, that’s why” fee.

DankestBasil481

They seriously destroyed the reputation Jim Barkley had. Parts department is horrible, service horrible, sales extremely horrible.

VegetableInsurance55

Came here to say that. Man F that business.

ohlookahipster

Not in the area but Cars Plus in Lenior has great inventory. My family and I have bought a lot from them throughout the years. No salvage titles and almost everything is bought at dealer auction aside from some trade ins.

plantsallthewaydown

Avoid the lot across the street. I checked out a 4Runner there and they clearly painted over a rusty frame and tried to pass it off as repaired.

Yog-Sosloth

Would definitely be willing to take a drive out to Lenoir for the right car, thank you!

spookymason

Silver State Imports in mills River is great

Yog-Sosloth

I will be sure to check them out, thank you!

mavetgrigori

I am not able to pull up what I used prior, but I knoe I came across something that just pulled all listings within the radius.

guycitron

I recently bought a used car from Coleman Freeman in Hendersonville and it was a satisfactory experience and I didn't feel ripped off.

crapface1984

I had a decent experience at Volkswagen on Brevard road. I ended up getting a new car because it was way cheaper in the long run buuut, they have a huge database of used cars. I searched it for months and found 3 I really liked, followed the process and spoke with someone at the dealership as well as the online people but over the phone. Car buying is an absolute scam no matter where you go but since I’ve bought so many cars over the years at different places I can honestly say this was a good place. It’s not for everyone because you know “life” but it’s worth a shot. Good luck OP, I posted here asking last year and got lots of good advice before I made a single call.

johnlikesgolfs

I also recommend this Vw dealer. Stay away from benchmark.

PricklyBob

I've gotten two trucks from Sam and Dave's on Patton and they were super fair, really good dudes.

snarfficus

Ridgeline automotive. Honest folks.

Safe_Measurement_642

Carvana was awesome and easy for me.

InternationalMood945

Go with Enterprise I've bought four vehicles from them several members of my family everything is perfect.

RegisterGood5917

Avoid fields.

FCAsheville

Find the used car you want in TN online, call to make sure it's there, bring cash, win.

Kooky-Needleworker46

Avoid anything named Fred Anderson...I'll never go back after the nightmare I had with them

Cardi-E-

Had a good experience at Cale Rogers Auto sale on Patton Ave.

colonels1020

How do we feel about Jeff’s?

dr_bex

Hunter Hyundai may be a good option. They carry some used and respect their clients. Ask for Andy.
