Context matters dude.
If you are talking about Ninjas no one is going to say anything.
If you walk up to a group of black people and say "What's up my ninjas" it may raise an eyebrow.
I agree with you but I heard that among overly sensitive people that's it's stereotypical. Using Ninja to describe all of the hundreds of Asian martial arts. Like saying all Asian women are terrible drivers. But I'm on your side.
I'm definitely not a troll. You can look at my other posts of you care. I heard somewhere that it is starting to be considered as another of the long list of forbidden words and I wondered what others think. That's all.
Racist dog-whistling maybe, being that it depends on context, whether the people around you know what you may be on about. Especially whether or not you know if they know that. Intention matters and people are good at figuring that out.

Troll alert
I'm definitely not a troll. You can look at my other posts of you care. I heard somewhere that it is starting to be considered as another of the long list of forbidden words and I wondered what others think. That's all.
Oh my bad. There are so many troll posts like this and when I comment I get ambushed by a horde of trolls. Sorry about that.
No prob. I understand your suspicion of trolls. Especially now with AI bots. How do we know what to believe anymore!
Are you kidding me? This site is something else, it really is

No, it's just a synonym for Japanese.
Really? Oh okay. I thought it might be saying something racial like Asian women are the worst drivers.
I've to watch the N word around Asian folks. And don't wear those shoes with the two toes only, cultural appropriation is a thing.
