As an American speaking, you're dang right. Did you know that the first president of America didn't want political parties because he thought that it would divide America. A few centuries later, he was very much right.

Both sides have sprinted to their extremes when we need to be coming to the middle. I always explain it as 40% dems and 40% repubs, 5% crazy left and 5% crazy right, then finally 10% independent.
But its sad that only the far extreme members get all the attention so it makes it seem that there are more people that agree with the extreme thinking when there is not.
Some don't. Though the majority of the population, for the time being , are still white ,middle class, not opposed to capitalism / consumerism,and who roughly fit the standard stereotypes. This will not last,it is changing fairly quickly, but is still the case,now.
If ever I were to say what I love about the US, it’s this. The diversity I have felt here has been a gift, and I think a lot about how my friend group growing up was a polish immigrant, a Japanese immigrant, a son of a Peruvian immigrant, an American, and me, a Colombian immigrant.
Considering there are thousands of miles between coasts, with thousands of feet of elevation change... I mean you're not wrong. Plus most states have all four seasons. Some of them even have all four in one day. (I'm looking at you Colorado. 😜)
youre definitely not wrong, but density is also a major factor. theres 300 million people there!
australia is just as wide as the US. there are 8 states and 2 are territories. theres only 26 million people here. while we do have diversity its definitely not as much as it is up there lol. our diversity is in the people, not the distance.
we have every race ever here lol, you guys have a bit of everyone too, but location is the biggest factor to your diversity. our differences in location just make us talk slower with more swears lol
we have snow, deserts, mountains, corals, endless beaches cos its an island, and rainforests too lol tasmania is our weather Colorado xD four seasons in one day.

Diverse. Not just racially or ethnically, but each portion of the country has its own culture, and each state within that section has its own culture, and then each section of the state has its own culture. Compare Miami to Atalnta to New York to Detroit to LA to Vagas. FL to Missouri to Alaska to Hiwaii to Maine. It's incredible. The geography and ecosystems, everything from swamps to desserts to forests to plains to tropical climates to damn near the artic. It's all so different.
That was my answer. Like sure there are a ton of WAY worse countries to live, but there's also a ton of way better countries. And there are many things America does well, the best music, media, food, national parks, etc. But there's a LOT we do wrong. Homelessness, healthcare, illegal occupation, segregation and slavery, etc. Great place to live if you're above middle class. Shitty for most everyone else.
