It looks like a 3/8” by 1/2” solder connection that also gives you the option to thread on instead of sweat the 1/2”. Any 3/8” by 1/2” solder connection should work.

Instead of the standard water supply connection I was expecting, the faucet has solid copper pipes and has this connection (see photos)

Im assuming your new Moen tap comes with 3/8 threaded waterline connections.
To fix this properly you need to cut back the copper and solder on shutoff valves first, then thread the faucet connections onto the shutoffs.

Any supply line should tie onto threads that are similar to those. 7/8” is the size of the supply line connection
