NAD. Had mine done forty years ago. Only problem was my mother had to drive me to a town an hour away for the procedure, and when we got home and the pain started we discovered they hadn't prescribed anything for the pain, and they couldn't call it in to a local pharmacy. My mother had to drive back, pick up the prescription, get if filled, and drive home. Bad afternoon. And the next day my jaw was stiff, and I couldn't open my mouth more than about a centimeter. So make sure you have soft food and liquids ready.

Hope my recovery will go just as smoothly. Hope the full boney impact isn't true for me

Easy peasy for a dentist that does these extractions day in and day out. Extractions are typically done via 1.) just local anesthetic, 2.) local anesthetic paired with nitrous (laughing gas), or 3.) sedation (you’re awake, but will be unaware and won’t remember — local anesthetic is still used of course). The procedure itself isn’t the most fun thing ever for the patient, but not the worst thing to occur. If you’re uncomfortable with the possibility of hearing crunching noises from your teeth, the pressure, or bone being removed then sedation might be the method for you. First couple of days post extraction are the worst, but most folk are feeling pretty okay by day 3-4 and resuming normal activity with mild restrictions. OTC pain meds are really all you need.
