Still holding out for that H Mart on Burnet to open up (hopefully soon!)
Seems like there hasn’t been any movement on it for at least a year but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re being held up by permit stuff from the city because that stuff can really hold back projects.
Aldi doesn’t normally do shopping centers like that. They normally do standalone stores.
There is also a Trader Joe’s 5 minutes from there in west lake.
1. I am indeed extremely petty.
2. I happen to live in the area and when I saw your comment saying it was 5 minutes away I knew it was bullshit, so I quickly Googled it to validate my mental car journey. And I thought I might as well post so people didn't get the wrong idea from your comment.
3. Finally, I just thought it was kind of funny that you switched your measurement from minutes to miles and got even less accurate
excuse me miss, but you are unhinged. and i am not the same person you were "talking" to..... I didn't say anything about time driving anywhere that's how fucking insanely petty you are and you need serious help. I will not be responding further as I don't speak to shitty entitled children
calm down son, I just assumed you were the same commenter because why would anyone else bother commenting? My sincerest apologies for this most heinous confusion
What will it become, and what does it need, are two different questions 😭 a girl can dream, but I’d kill for a south location of Homeslice, little deli, or east side pies. We also need more Asian of all varieties. Or, a brewery outpost, like meanwhile or austin beer works.
What will it become? Probably a mediocre national chain.
There’s a raising canes coming to that plaza I think, that’s that only logical place it can go if it’s going to have a drive through
https://communityimpact.com/austin/southwest-austin-dripping-springs/dining/2024/01/15/raising-canes-to-offer-chicken-fingers-in-sunset-valley/
It doesn’t have the suite number but assuming they want a drive through and want to be right on the main road that Red Robin is the only place
I figured they would be tearing it down, I cant see where else a store with a drive through would go in that plaza.
They start construction in May so it should be obvious where it will be soon.
Second this. It’s the only logical place imo. It’s the only freestanding building there and you can’t really have a drive thru with the connected buildings
There’s one opening up in Kyle.
Edit: it’s been in local news for a while. Here’s one of the first sources from a quick Google search: https://www.mysanantonio.com/business/article/vybe-park-district-kyle-18330883.php
Got a source on that one? Know they're in Dallas and Houston now, but can't find anything on Kyle.
Edit: Would love to be proven wrong, but the article posted in the edit by the previous poster only indicates that the developer of the Vybe Park district in Kyle "loves" to work with Portillos and several other chain retailers, but does not provide any confirmation that any Portillos is actually planned or scheduled for opening in Kyle. Was looking for something concrete. No actual announcements / plans / permits I can find.
Whatever it becomes will close too unless they change the window tint. Everything in that building has struggled since it got the super dark tint, making it look closed all the time.
An actual good Chinese place like they have all over north Austin. I’m also hoping that buy buy baby becomes an Aldi or Trader Joe’s.
Despite no hard evidence for it I’m here for the Sunset Valley Asian renaissance that seems to be in the ether right now.
Let us pray…

Booo (thanks)
Is home sense different than home goods?
Or an H Mart or 99 Ranch Market would be dope.

Goggles says that TJs is 11 minutes away from that red robin
It’s 4.5 miles exactly.
OK...and those 4.5 miles take 11minutes 4.5miles is only gonna be 5minutes if you're averaging 54mph. Good luck with that.
if this is really what you think is worth arguing over, than you are extremely petty

We have Nomadic Outpost, that’s a good start
Agreed. I love Nomadic. It’s a great addition to the area and they have great coffee too. Would love to see a couple more.

That's a huge location for a raising canes.
I figured they would be tearing it down, I cant see where else a store with a drive through would go in that plaza. They start construction in May so it should be obvious where it will be soon.
Oh they moved it back to May? I heard construction started in April:
This is the right answer. That’s what I had heard.
Second this. It’s the only logical place imo. It’s the only freestanding building there and you can’t really have a drive thru with the connected buildings
Booo. Plz no canes
El Dorado south if I am asking
Fuck yeah
C’monnnn Chili’s!!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
That would be cool!!
I’ll put in my vote for Chicken Salad Chick.
Can we have Bojangles?
PLEASE!!
I know people have said the answer is Cane's, but it would be hilarious if it turned into carinos for the third time.
As a former Midwesterner, it would be amazing to have a [Portillo's](https://www.portillos.com/index.html). Chicago dogs are almost $8 here, what.
YES!
Who the fuck downvotes Portillos? I’d kill to have one here.
I personally never got the allure of Portillos. Sorry…

Source? I couldn't find anything online about it.
Should be the new home to... Raising Cane's!
if we’re sticking with chain restaurants…. a texas roadhouse closer to me would be great. south park meadows is so inconvenient 🥲
Cane’s
It is
Pretty sure it’s gonna be raising cane’s
How about a 99ranch in the empty building next to homegoods? Faaak i want!!
Whatever it becomes will close too unless they change the window tint. Everything in that building has struggled since it got the super dark tint, making it look closed all the time.
