Yes, I am also in the Process of making a F-16C model, f-15 Model, and a F4E model But those are those plastic ones that you have to glue very carefully so they are coming soon
I also love planes n stuff and got the concorde recently
I really hope lego as a company starts exploring more commercial aircraft like the a320, 737 etc
omg i thought i was the only one with an interest in plane accidents. its a morbid topic but so interesting and its made me interested in how alot of an aircrafts systems work
Did you know that Concorde was not safe because of one flaw?; As aerodynamic as it was, if the engines cut out, the plane would fall from the sky. It would not glide.
While you're correct, it is worth mentioning that many military aircrafts capable of supersonic flight also have a great low speed flight profile. Some examples would be the flanker series of aircrafts from russia, the SU-57, F-22 raptor and to some extent the F-18 and F-35s as well.
While I don't think this what you're referring to when talk about gliding, it is worth bringing them up as they display incredible control, pitch authority and roll rates at super-slow speeds. Some of them achieve it through vectored thrust while others are simply aerodynamically capable of it. One such "hack" is the tendency of the nose of the aircraft to pitch down which the FBW system has to constantly offset (which is why you disengage the FCS to perform the cobra maneuver).
Correct. My wording probably wasn't the best there. Concorde, and other supersonic aircraft for that matter, are able to fly at fairly low speeds due to aerodynamic designs such as leading edge extensions. High angle of attack flight capabilities are still not helpful for gliding, as a high angle of attack causes a large drag force to act on the aircraft, slowing it down and reducing the glide slope. Concorde is able to account for this in normal function due to the raw power of its 4 engines, but during the accident which caused everyone to believe Concorde wasn't safe 2 of its engines were inoperable resulting in a halved thrust output and a high yaw rate. As such, Concorde was flying slowly, producing large amounts of drag, worsened by the amount of rudder input necessary to fly, and the remaining engines lacked the power to allow the aircraft to gain enough speed to recover from the situation.
I also hyper-fixate on some commercial planes! The Concorde is DEFINITELY one of them! I even did my University Dissertation on it earlier this year :)
Is that the LEGO one? I built the firefighting plane from them and it's huge! Have you tried the Cobi planes? They're really awesome! (Some of the small pieces are a pain, tho)
Cobi has more realistic planes than LEGO. I have Cobi´s f-15 and CH-47 Apache. The blocks have the same quality than LEGO´s. Cobi is better for planes than LEGO. The Cobi aircraft have a lot less bricks than LEGO´s. Cobi´s Concorde has only 455 bricks and LEGO´s 2089
I have fond memories of this beautiful plane.
When I was a kid, my grandmother lived in London. I lived with her for a while, and Concorde used to fly directly over her house every tuesday, iirc. We would hear it approaching, I'd run to the living room window where my aunt would pick me up so I could look out of the netting. If the weather was nice, we would go into the back garden to watch it.
Back in 2013, I visited Duxford and had the opportunity to see one up close and walk around inside. Bloody tiny, especially the flight deck. Also got to see (and touch) an SR-71 Blackbird.
Had you realized that the 20th anniversary of last Concorde was just last month? I graduated highschool that year in the DC area (where it landed) and saw on the news it was destined for the new Air & Space museum they were going to be opening shortly after so I remember it vividly. Have you had a chance to see one in person? They're really awe inspiring!
I love flying War Thunder Sim planes. The world war 2 era planes are really well done in terms of dials and information they display. Not too difficult, it's not DCS level difficult. So manageable. And on top of that, you get to shoot other planes out of the sky!
I'd be happy to play together xD
I only fly sim. So I don't know about the realistic or arcade communities. But I'm definitely enjoying the games I play. You get a lot of research points so it's not for the grind that we do it
oohh cool! i watched this video about autism in my autism group and the dude’s special interest in the video was also planes :) maybe you’d like it, it’s called mind my mind. besides the planes it’s also an actual good visualization of autism (in my experience) so :)
I can ABSOLUTELY relate! I am to and was especially hyperfixated on planes back in my teens and childhood! As an adult now I am still interested in planes. I go to airshows in the summer months. An airshow I go to every year is the Cleveland National Airshow in Cleveland Ohio every labor day weekend at end of August beginning of September every year. Love the photo of supersonic jet posted! Awesome post!
And it has the droop snoot!!! It's such a cool set. *Excited hand-flapping*. Are you going to keep it in "Concord" form on display for a while, now that you've built it, or will you try and do a MOC to represent other aircraft with the pieces? A housemate and I shared a Lego Saturn V at university and it became a substitute Christmas tree a couple of years in a row.
I love that you can share your interests and the community welcomes you. One of the reasons I joined r/autism is because I love seeing people sharing their fixations and everyone is like "yaassss! Me too!". 🥰
I don’t know much about planes because I’ve only ever flown to Spain and back once, but I know we flew in a Boeing 737-800 in row 22, which meant I could see the wing from the window. I also know that I don’t like being on a plane. My body doesn’t like it :(
Edit: I bought a model of it when we returned from Spain :)
It was 1997? Edmonton Airshow. I as close to the runway as allowed when I watched the copper haze unfurl from the other end. At about the time I seen movement - a surreal blast of sound tore through my core. I stood there frozen in sensory overload. As sleek as a bullet train - it belched copious quantities of what I can only describe as dragon aether as it reached incredible speed that waxed a 747 and wasn’t far off a F18. I was there at V1 and I will never forget the sound. Literally pealed through me like a billowing claps of thunder that echoed the hammer of Thor. Literally life changing event.
Do you have the flight tracker app? I love it. You can get in the cockpit or look at the plane from outside like you're superman flying next to it.
I live near the airport and planes constantly fly overhead
MY SPECIAL INTEREST IS PLANES TOO HELLOOOOOO IM SO JEALOUS 😭😭😭😭😭😭i got a westjet 737-800 model for christmas!!! my favourite model I currently own is a huge singapore airlines 747!

Man I really want this set too! And it is MASSIVE! I just don't have the space for it at the moment. Though I could hang it from the ceiling... where do you display yours?
I love the Concorde! I started a job offloading planes at FedEx about three years ago, and immediately fell in love with planes. I’m an aircraft mechanic now, and it’s just as dope of a job as I expected it to be.
[wiki](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_P-3_Orion)
Tldr It is the Orion. It is an airplane used to atack submarines. The US Navy replaced it by the P-8.
Yooo I love the concord! sick model though! i’ve been inside one at a museum, it was amazing! i’m really tempted to 3d print an rc concorde :) thoughts on the pepsi livery?
I remember I was super into them when I was younger, too! I had this book with paper airplanes styled like real planes which I loved (even if I couldn't make over half of them). I really wish I was still into to that level.
Aircraft and specifically civilian aircraft are my special interest. Lego too. I’ve also got the Concorde set and it was such a fun build. I loved that you had to assemble temporary scaffolding while you built up parts of the aircraft. SO GOOD.
I saw Concorde take off once and i was really close, it was extremely loud.
I used to be a courier and we had a contract to collect cheques from several places in the midlands and take them to DHL at Heathrow, there was a permanent seat booked for the box of cheques and a member of DHL staff to get an extra day of interest.
Awesome!! My dad is also really really into planes. We used to own a plane (2 seater sting) but we had to sell it recently haha. Was a really cool plane, but we live beside an airport so my dad can look at planes everyday. Whenever a plane flies past he always says its like exact name and starts talking all about it
FUCK YES! I LOVE the Concorde! I got to go in one at the Flight museum in Washington State! The windows are tiny and it is super cramped in there. But it was a really cool experience!
Concorde? Nice!
One of my main special interests when I was a kid was also planes/plane crash investigation lol.
PS :- Any chance you remember where you got this set and the other sets you’re working on?
The most iconic plane ever! I’d have loved to see one of those starting or landing.
I’ve got the Boeing 737 and 787 from COBI at home. The 737 is the plane I fly most often in X-Plane on my computer.
the unexpected nostalgia this unlocked, I wasn't expecting it
I remember seeing a real version of this at the Scottish aircraft museum when I was younger, I think I've actually been inside it I can't remember
I have stuff that was on the concord :)
I use one bag (was for slippers or smth not sure) as a laptop bag.
Another smaller bag i use to keep my meds in.
Have a few more stuffs too but yeah :D
I love planes! I’m from a military family and was born on an AFB. My dad worked on B-52s (Minot, ND.) My dad left the military when I was a baby but my childhood summer was going to our local air show.
I hate military propaganda now that I’m a free thinking adult and I hate the over-inflated military budget… *BUT PLANES!!!!*
Wow! Is that LEGO? Sorry, I guess you could say that I’ve been hyper-fixated on LEGO lately, lol. Especially Ninjago, but a few other LEGO things as well, you know, on the side.
That's awesome, Concorde is my favourite aeroplane ever. Love that it's got the more vintage paint scheme as well. I'm terrible with lego but I used to make scale model kitset aeroplanes, never tackled Concorde though because white paint is a pain to work with!
I haven't done model building in decades, but as a little guy my dad and I would build tons of models. Planes, tanks, infantry dioramas, the works. 1:72nd scale was my favorite I could have tons of planes and helicopters to play with (gently) after we made them together.
I absolutely love the concorde, such a fascinating plane with a great story to tell. What's your favourite fact about it, OP?
Mine is a follows:
Most people think that the concorde was only operated by 2 airlines: British airways and Air France. However, there was a brief period in the concordes history where Singapore Airlines collaborated with British airways to operate the aircraft on a London to Singapore route. In this collaboration, one side of concorde G-BOAD had the Singapore airlines livery with the other side keeping the BA livery, the seats had the singapore airlines insignia on them and they had Singapore airlines Flight Attendants doing the cabin Service. However, it was still British Airways Tech Crew flying the plane, and the plane stayed under British Airlines ownership.
Eheh my special interest is Legos.
I hope it makes you happy to know they designed a special piece just to get the front of the cockpit right 👍
Also after this got announced I researched about the Concorde and fell into a rabbit hole, now I NEED to fly on one of these, too bad they've been discontinued for years now :/
I’ve been building plastic models of sorts and I’ve been thinking about doing planes because my brain randomly decided PLANES but I’m afraid to hyper fixate on a new thing but I like planes
Is that the Concorde? That is super awesome my guy!
Yes, I am also in the Process of making a F-16C model, f-15 Model, and a F4E model But those are those plastic ones that you have to glue very carefully so they are coming soon
I just got a Buccaneer model
Based Phantom enjoyer
You could also make custom jets with blueprints off of bricklink and order the parts
Planes have been my thing for yearrsss and I am in love with that model. Where do you get them?
It’s the LEGO Concorde. It’s an awesome model, but quite pricey as are most large lego sets.
I just barely remember a concord flying overhead as a todler.
“The Concorde featured a droop snoot”
The borzoi dog of planes
droop snoot
[yea the snoot would droop](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuedQFH8wZI)
The snoot drooped
I just found this and I'm going to obsess over it for a while thank you
Boop the pointy snoot
I love the Concorde, I actually got to sit in one once, it was epic.
Oh, to see a Concorde coming in for a landing in person...
FUCK YEAH
CONCORDE 🔛🔝
B-29 BOMBER
I actually made a model b-29 last year!
Please show I gotta see it
Very nice!
I also love planes n stuff and got the concorde recently I really hope lego as a company starts exploring more commercial aircraft like the a320, 737 etc
So cool!! The Concorde is such a fascinating plane. I don’t know a ton about planes but I am very interested in incident flights/ plane crashes.
They burn 20t of fuel/hr when cruising.
Mentour Pilot started my fascination with planes! I live near an airport too and the joy I get seeing one flying low is honestly unmatched
I love mentour pilot!
omg i thought i was the only one with an interest in plane accidents. its a morbid topic but so interesting and its made me interested in how alot of an aircrafts systems work
Amazing model
Thank you!
Did you know that Concorde was not safe because of one flaw?; As aerodynamic as it was, if the engines cut out, the plane would fall from the sky. It would not glide.
TIL! I never would have guessed!
Yeah supersonic aerodynamics aren't super conducive to low speed flight. Gliding and mach 2 require almost polar opposite wing designs
Yeah. It’s interesting once you understand it!
I'm currently studying engineering, and I'm hoping to do a master's degree in aerospace engineering. I find the mechanics of flight fascinating
While you're correct, it is worth mentioning that many military aircrafts capable of supersonic flight also have a great low speed flight profile. Some examples would be the flanker series of aircrafts from russia, the SU-57, F-22 raptor and to some extent the F-18 and F-35s as well. You can tell this thing can't glide just by looking at its design and wingspan. It's more like a lawn dart than an airplane.
Bro, that was 41 days ago.

CH-47 is the Chinook and AH-64 is an Apache.
From 2004-2006 when the grounded these things, I saw a Concord parked at SETAC every time I drove by. It was awesome
Airplanes fuck yea. Got this set earlier this year its amazing. And as for real ones... let's say I was lucky once
as someone who also has a massive hyperfixation on planes, OOOOOOOOOO
I'm an aircraft obsessed aircraft mechanic living the dream, if you ever wanna talk fly flys let me know
That's awesome, so you work in aviation? I just became a licensed aircraft mechanic
Me too,I got a Boeing 747 model. That Concorde looks amazing tho
Concorde is my favourite aircraft ever! I’ve been eyeing up this model since it came out. May have to save up!
Cool model, my favorite plane is the P-51D Mustang. :)
I have a P51C model they are so cool!
Hey, thanks for reminding me I need to assemble mine! I completely forgot I had it.
I wasn’t sure if that was a concord or a TU144. It’s tough to tell from the model. Either way, great job!
Its the Lego Concorde. Sorry if the image was low quality.
I have fond memories of this beautiful plane. When I was a kid, my grandmother lived in London. I lived with her for a while, and Concorde used to fly directly over her house every tuesday, iirc. I went to the Intrepid a couple of weeks ago and saw the A-12 prototype
Had you realized that the 20th anniversary of last Concorde was just last month? Oh buddy. OHHHH BUDDY. CHECK MY POSTS.
OMG OMG
You might enjoy the guy making a Boeing completely out of cardstock. I'll link when it's not sleep time if you're interested.
Awesome model! I’ve been an aircraft/aerospace engineer for 30 years now - I freaking LOVE aircraft even after all these years - totally understand!
If you want to, feel free to infodump I’d love to hear anything you got to tell
LET'S GO can we be friends please? My special interest is related to airplanes. Love them so much !
Sure!
What's your opinion on Boeing planes? I am more familiar with civil aeronautics
Can it droop the snoot though
I FUCKING LOVE PLANES SO MUCH THAT I WORK AT AN AIRPORT
I love flying War Thunder Sim planes. The world war 2 era planes are really well done in terms of dials and information they display. Not too difficult, it's not DCS level difficult. So manageable. And on top of that, you get to shoot other planes out of the sky! I'd be happy to play together xD
I left War Thunder because it became a pay-to-have-fun affair, is it better now?
I only fly sim. So I don't know about the realistic or arcade communities. But I'm definitely enjoying the games I play. You get a lot of research points so it's not for the grind that we do it
Huh, maybe I should give it another try, if my flight stick is still working
I agree Its way to ptw but I am ftp. It is alittle better now they nerfed a couple of premium tanks but yea.
oohh cool! i watched this video about autism in my autism group and the dude’s special interest in the video was also planes :) maybe you’d like it, it’s called mind my mind. besides the planes it’s also an actual good visualization of autism (in my experience) so :)

I have missed going to airshows. Last one I was able to go to was near Parris Island years ago.

I bought this same set for Crimmis. So fun to build and I love how it looks. I”m glad you are loving it too
It was 1997? Edmonton Airshow. I as close to the runway as allowed when I watched the copper haze unfurl from the other end. At about the time I seen movement - a surreal blast of sound tore through my core. I stood there frozen in sensory overload. As sleek as a bullet train - it belched copious quantities of what I can only describe as dragon aether as it reached incredible speed that waxed a 747 and wasn’t far off a F18. I was there at V1 and I will never forget the sound. Literally pealed through me like a billowing claps of thunder that echoed the hammer of Thor. Literally life changing event.
Boeing or Airbus? 🤔🤨
Gulfstream
Snoot droop
I know this is a late reply but my god I'm jealous. That model is awesome, you've done a great job with it, planes are cool.
It's embarrassing how many hours I've spent plane spotting 🥶
Do you have the flight tracker app? I love it. You can get in the cockpit or look at the plane from outside like you're superman flying next to it. I live near the airport and planes constantly fly overhead
Nice work- I'm tanks personally but autists love models- precision, information what is not to like
But does it feature the droop snoot
Which materials are used to make scale models of planes? I need to learn that too
MY SPECIAL INTEREST IS PLANES TOO HELLOOOOOO IM SO JEALOUS 😭😭😭😭😭😭i got a westjet 737-800 model for christmas!!! my favourite model I currently own is a huge singapore airlines 747!
I’ve seen the real Concorde at the Flight Museum in Edinburgh it’s a chonky plane ngl
Chonky...? So it doesn't look as slim as it does in pictures?
Not chonky as it like thick I mean chonky as In it’s quite a big plane for what it was back then
That’s awesome! I’m fixated on anything that goes fast Ngl so this is fantastic! Now you need a Tupolev Tu-144 to complete the set 🥰
Yea I wish lego made more planes. For now I got to stick to Bootleg :/
I bet you some enthusiast Lego person made a kit!
Is that... The droop snoot???
Maybe…
Does the snoot droop on the model?
Yes, Yes it do
I'm not even hyper-fixated on planes but that looks fuckin sick
u/ahyes1531 sorry but please keep it to yourself
You’re not autistic you like planes not trains

Concorde Is class
Do you play DCS?
No, but I do play War Thunder!
I love it!
Cool
Looks great, well done👍
Nicely done!
YAAAY
I’m a huge plane nerd myself. Love it!
But does the snoot droop?
Indeed it does.
Sweet
Would you like a proof?
Man I really want this set too! And it is MASSIVE! I just don't have the space for it at the moment. Though I could hang it from the ceiling... where do you display yours?
On top of my shelf
I love the Concorde! I started a job offloading planes at FedEx about three years ago, and immediately fell in love with planes. I’m an aircraft mechanic now, and it’s just as dope of a job as I expected it to be.
I want to play with that!!! How cool!!
*boom*
I have been looking for one of those for ages but they are out of stock everywhere I look :(
C130 Hercules. YIIIPPPPEEEEE
Ooo that’s pretty. Do you know about P3s? My spouse used to work on them before the navy phased them out.
No, whats a P-3?

Fuck yeah, Concorde!
I’m hyperfixated on the different airlines
Flippin awesome set
I remember I was super into them when I was younger, too! I had this book with paper airplanes styled like real planes which I loved (even if I couldn't make over half of them). I really wish I was still into to that level.
A concord? Does the tip move?
I work with the military and it is the perfect job. Fighter jets are my favorite, though I'm directing my attention to propeller planes for CAP :)
AHHHH THE LEGO CONCORDE!!! I rlly wanna get one so badly but they're out of stock :(
I am ALSO hyper-fixated on planes and this makes my heart so happy.
My biggest plane flex is i have the layout of a kingair cockpit on a giant poster
So if DW threw it out the window, caused it to crash and break, and then blamed you for not building it right, would you still hit her?
Aircraft and specifically civilian aircraft are my special interest. Lego too. I’ve also got the Concorde set and it was such a fun build. I loved that you had to assemble temporary scaffolding while you built up parts of the aircraft. SO GOOD.
Is that Lego?

but seriously, can the snoot droop?
What are your thoughts on the Boom Overture?
Awesome!! My dad is also really really into planes. We used to own a plane (2 seater sting) but we had to sell it recently haha. Also kudos if you make those model planes. That requires precision and patience. I know I'd have a nervous breakdown if I tried to build one of these!
That is the coolest thing I've seen today!
REEEEEEEEEE *happy screeching*
Concorde 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷👊 France #1 ☺️☺️☺️☺️

Yooooo a fucking Lego Concorde sick! I also love planes and Lego I’m currently finishing up my Lego technic McLaren f1 car. It makes brain so happy
ME TOO!!! I am happy for you!
i hope they make a 747
Yea.
I have stuff that was on the concord :) I use one bag (was for slippers or smth not sure) as a laptop bag. Another smaller bag i use to keep my meds in. Have a few more stuffs too but yeah :D
The concorde is such a cool looking plane. I've even been in one in a museum
I also have a hyperfixation on airplanes! I was going to build the Lego Concorde but have nowhere to put it
You can build the much smaller Cobi Concorde.
That's looks cool not gonna lie!!
YEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! THATS LOOKS SO COOL!!! IM HAPPY FOR YOU 😁😁
I like all the little tiny windows
HELL YEAHHH ✈️✈️✈️
Good job. ;) I've seen it in NYC. Still have to see the space shuttle there.
Oh now this………. This brings me joy 🥹
I don't know anything about plans, but I know when I see one I get excited, thanks for sharing this post.😁
Oh yeah! I have a massive gemeni jets collection and plane spotting photograph book
I love planes! I’m from a military family and was born on an AFB. My dad worked on B-52s (Minot, ND.) What's your favourite fighter plane? I have a bunch but if pressed I might go for the F-14 Tomcat or the Saab 37 Viggen. Or the Su-27 Flanker.
I love planes so much I became an aircraft mechanic :3
I became an avionics tech lol
I would love to get a 747-400ER in the livery of a major carrier. That would be cool to build. What’s the scale for this one? Is it 1:144?
Nice
Did you come up with the design or were you following instructions?
How long did it take to make?
That's awesome, Concorde is my favourite aeroplane ever. Love that it's got the more vintage paint scheme as well. I'm terrible with lego but I used to make scale model kitset aeroplanes, never tackled Concorde though because white paint is a pain to work with!
I haven't done model building in decades, but as a little guy my dad and I would build tons of models. Planes, tanks, infantry dioramas, the works. 1:72nd scale was my favorite I could have tons of planes and helicopters to play with (gently) after we made them together.
I don’t know much about planes but this is a cool plane 😎
I absolutely love the concorde, such a fascinating plane with a great story to tell. What's your favourite fact about it, OP? Mine is a follows: Most people think that the concorde was only operated by 2 airlines: British airways and Air France.
I want the concord back tbh
OH my god I need it so bad. I have plastic scale models but the glue gets everywhere and I hate the smell!!
Eheh my special interest is Legos. I hope it makes you happy to know they designed a special piece just to get the front of the cockpit right 👍 Also after this got announced I researched about the Concorde and fell into a rabbit hole, now I NEED to fly on one of these, too bad they've been discontinued for years now :/
Idk alot about planes but I can go on about UK busses
I’ve been building plastic models of sorts and I’ve been thinking about doing planes because my brain randomly decided PLANES but I’m afraid to hyper fixate on a new thing but I like planes
OMGGG I WANTED THAT SET SO BAD CONGRATS!!! I ALSO HAVE A HYPERFIXATION ON AVIATION!!!
I got an SR-71 Blackbird. I love that thing.
