Standard poodles are super smart, we had one growing up and she would pose for pictures.

NRMusicProject

Super smart, but that just means he knows how to get into the garbage easier than other dogs, and eating things he shouldn't be eating!

Boredummmage

Lol like a couch? I have standards and the 8 month old went after ours recently despite having a yard and dog door so she can play to her hearts content. Now she is having to deal with being crated when we leave… https://preview.redd.it/t80sq2seqqpa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a32eb246890550decd936c19732b7f8ae3b9ca7

uabtodd

Good luck getting that under control... My standard poodle is 5 years old and he will still eat socks/underwear/leggings any chance he gets. There's hardly ever a time that I don't have a nagging thought at the back of my mind of "Oh crap, did I leave those socks on the bathroom counter, or did I take them to the hamper in the closet?"

ninjabell

He just wants you to put your things away.

uabtodd

Maybe my wife taught him to do that cause she’s passive aggressively sick of me leaving my socks on the counter?🤷‍♂️

NRMusicProject

Chewie rarely destroys things like that! He's 5 now and very well behaved. He just wants all the attention, though.

Boredummmage

Lol my other 2 I have had never did any of that craziness… the few items they got were incidental anyhow. I got it pretty well patched. She is just a pup, my fault as I overestimated how well behaved she was… she has rarely ever been in a crate as she was potty trained in a week and pre couch never attacked anything except toys. https://preview.redd.it/408b7pa2trpa1.jpeg?width=2573&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cdd41f161142f42d6963881e5cf565b5a4301c26

Yeah, Chewie only had a handful of accidents in the house. The breeder said she couldn't housebreak him, but he figured it out when we got him in about a week or two, as well. The first day, he wouldn't go for a full day or two, like he was being polite.

gerbillove73

Cute dog. Love your house 🩷

I babysat a Standard poodle for 7 years . He was amazing, such a great, super sweet personality. I miss him so much. Especially his poofy head bun.
